Even tho you have an appointment and arrived there on time but they still let you wait about 30/40 mins or else had canceled your appointment right away. NEVER STRAY FROM ANNIE. NOT EVEN FOR A TRIM. It might be tempting when it's busy, but there will be some dire consequences...as I learned today. I came in with my friend because he needed a haircut, and I decided to get a trim while we were there. It was definitely my bad for not calling ahead and making an appointment but I figured since I just wanted a simple trim (just the dead ends), so anyone in the salon should be able to do it. NOPE. The red flags started a-wavin' when she took out feathering scissors when I specified not to cut layers/thinning..then she started to cut my hair in short layers around my face (which is w t f in itself since I have no layers next to my face/didn't ask for any/goes against what I have, which is a slight a-line). 5 minutes in I just decided that instead of going through with having irreversible damage done (figuratively, as I guess cutting more hair off=less split ends), it wasn't worth it and I just kept telling her I didn't want her to cut anymore and she didn't understand until I started to move the hair cape off. She basically cut my hair for 5 minutes, and charged me $18. She looked real smug when she saw that I still stopped at the cash register. Please, it's not because I feel like you did a good job, it's because I'll be coming back and don't want to be banned for not paying. It looks like I tried to cut my hair by putting my hair in a ponytail and then hacking at it with a pair of blunt ass rusty scissors. I'm going back in tomorrow (with an appointment) to see if Annie can fix it even though I have a flight to catch. I'm not vain but I'm not about to rock my Fiskars® Children's Safety Scissors hair at school for three months. read more

Image Plus is located in the Lions supermarket building. The first time I went I made the mistake of driving around the plaza looking for it. Don't make the same mistake I did! Image Plus is not a fancy fufu looking salon. It looks like a typical cheap Asian-owned hair place but don't let that deceive you. The service is great and I've been going there for the past 6 months. My hair stylist, Annie, is very sweet, friendly, patient and most importantly, she always does a fantastic job on my hair whether it's coloring or just a simple hair trim. She seems pretty popular since there are always people waiting for her in front of me and after me whenever I go. I always have to wait at least 15 minutes even when I already made the appointment, but she is definitely worth the wait. The pricing is very reasonable. This is a long overdue review for Annie. She has cut my hair for 20 YEARS. I used to wait for haircuts until I returned from college during breaks. I continue seeing her even though I don't live in the same city, and I make the 30+ minute drive on the freeway because I don't trust anyone else. I have seen maybe 1-2 other people in that time frame out of desperation, but they never compared. I was left with choppy looking layers. Every time Annie cuts my hair the layers fall nicely and blend into each other, even as my hair grows out. While I have never used her to highlight or dye hair, I think she is exceptionally skilled at cutting hair and doing beautiful layers. My hair always looks great afterwards because she takes the extra time to flat iron and style it before I leave the salon. I was waiting patiently for them to open back up due to covid. I had the fleeting thought of going somewhere locally, since Santa Clara County had opened things up earlier, but I hesitated. First off, all the places in my area charge at least 2x-4x what she charges, and I'm pretty sure they would not give me 2x-4x the quality of work. I decided to wait for her to open back up and I am so glad I did. She is the sweetest lady, gives great advice, and just knows how to give a great layered cut. You may not believe it, but in the 20 years I've gone, I don't think the prices for a cut have changed. There have been times when I've tried to give her an extra large tip (like today) because she has been such a great stylist all these years, and she humbly did not want to accept it. I am happy to support someone so hardworking and honest and hope that her business picks up now that things are opening back up again. Current hours (9/29/20) are 9:30-7:30, 7 days a week. Annie is usually there, but you would need to make an appointment with the other stylists for them to come in. There's a sign posted on the door with their contact numbers. Annie been color and cut my hair for the past 7 years. I usually go to her continually every 3 months or so to cover my grey hair and cut. I never has any issues and I alway walk out liking my new hair do and color. Recently, I want more vibrant color on my hair. So I decide to do purple! Instead jump right into and color my whole hair purple and Annie suggested, I should do little highlight a purple on the top few layers of my hair to see if I like it. First she bleach my very dark hair into light brown-blond than color my whole hair with vibrant purple. Of course the blond hair took the purple really well and darker hair have a light shade of dark purple. Over all the the color look very very well and loving it. The highlight turn out great and love the techniques she did to highlighted the blond into my hair, which make it very natural even through we know I don't born with purple hair. I got lots of compliments. I'm so glad I listened to her advice to try out first with just few highlights. This place definitely a your mom&pop type of shop, nothing fancy about the place. You get your hair done and out of there. This place do get lots of Neigborhood business so make sure make appointment before you go. Annie is a very nice person and she own her works. If she ever know something is wrong, she will do anything to fix the problem. Don't worry about that. I will always recommend Annie to anyone I know. read more

I took the referral from a friend who previously had her hair cut here by Annie. She mentioned that she did a really good job so I was confident in her recommendation and visited Annie last week. My cut started off fine. She started at the bottom and took off 2 inches just as I had asked and worked her way up with my layers. Then, she started on my front layers. I started to notice that she was getting scissor happy on on my right side. It was at that point that I started feeling nervous. So I asked her to give me more layers on my left to even it out. She did as I asked, but went straight back to the right side and continued to snip off more!!! WTH?! Ugh. There went $30 down the drain. Never again! Plus, the place smells like fish since it's located inside the Lion Market. Boo. I've tried so many hair stylists within bay area, from 5 dollars to 100 dollars......no one does my hair right. I've had lost hope in finding a single person that can fulfill my wants. I stumbled across this hair salon while getting grocery at lions, so I decide to give it a shot. At first, I've tried Annie....omg what a horrible mistake she not only mess up my "okay" hair style but turn in to a pile of $h!t. So walked out unhappy and cut my loses. The second time I went back because I really needed haircut and I did not have time, so I walked in told whoever greeted me I did not want Annie to cut my hair. After I was told to sit and wait, Regina came to greet me and asked me if I had an appointment, I told her no I just want something simple. She said I have an appointment coming in, in 20 minutes she can help me. Oh boy, oh boy why didn't I choose Regina the first time not only I did not get a simple haircut but she gave me a haircut that lasted and exactly what I wanted without asking. First visit here was awesome! I came in for a walk-in haircut because my ends felt super dry and I wanted to get it trimmed. *NOTE: You must go inside the supermarket to go to this place and it'll be at the corner* Pre-cut: It was already 6:00 on a sunday evening and they were still getting customers (closing at 7:30). However, as I walked in, a woman greeted me and I was able to get a seat right away. (1 star for the welcome and another star for the fast service). The Actual Cut: I saw a lot of reviews of Annie, but my review is about Jessica. She is super nice and was pretty gentle with hair. I asked her to trim one inch and then cut it into layers. The whole process took less than 20 minutes but the outcome was more than I expected (especially for a walk-in). She did exactly what I asked, plus she even straightened my hair and styled it. I have a round face so when she showed me the layers it made my face look longer and more flattering. (2 stars dedicated for this lady right here!) Post-cut: Getting out of the chair, my hair felt so silky and my head felt a whole lot lighter as well. I have thick hair, so Jessica and I laughed about how it didn't look like I got much hair cut but looking at the ground, I saw A LOT of hair. The price was $27 for me but I gave her a $11 tip because I enjoyed it so much and I love my hair. (1 star for the pricing because it was cheaper than other places I've gone to and the experience was better than others.) I love my haircut! The stylists cut the dead dry weight (trim) and redid my layers and fixed my bangs so they look even. It was such a quality cut--she used a straight iron on my hair to make sure the layers were even before I left the chair. Thumbs up--way up!!!! She used a razor to clean up other split ends. My hair looks a lot better now! The stylist was easy to talk to as far as communicating what I wanted and did not have a problem fine tuning the details when asked. The cut was $23 and was worth every penny for the time and attention to detail. Yay!! I found a great place for a hair cut. I went there for the very first time today. I recently moved to Fremont and did not know where to go for a good and affordable haircut. I have been going to all sorts of salons and this was by far the best experience I have ever had! The guy named Simon(?) did an awesome job with shampoo and hair massage! I was almost asleep. I read the yelp reviews so had an appointment with Annie, and I was not disappointed. She really knows her work. She did exactly what I wanted, perfect length layers! The last time I got my hair cut was about a year ago and I went to the JC Penney salon which was actually pretty great, but that's a story for another time. :) Anyways, my hair was about three inches past my shoulder and I wanted to get a short hair cut, but not a bob cut like I did last time... something shoulder length would work. My friend from work, who always has such great short hair, recommended Annie at Image Plus. So on Saturday night I phoned Image Plus and made an appointment for 1 pm on Sunday. When I get there on Sunday I have to wait maybe 10 minutes for Annie to finish with another customer, but that's alright with me since I'm totally not anal about time... at least not towards the person that's about to touch my hair :) Pick and choose your battles folks! Anyways, when it's my turn, Annie asks me how I'd like it cut. I showed her a picture I printed out with a girl that has a longer bob that's shoulder length. I tell her I want slight side swept bangs and then we're off! It takes her all of maybe 15-20 minutes to cut and style it and when she finishes it looks like the picture I showed her, except tailored to my face shape which is really considerate of her because I don't have a slim face like the model in the pic ;) My friend went next and came away with a CUTE bob cut that was just perfect on her! I'll have to second her recommendation for Annie. Annie is so patient and really takes her time. She gives out recommendations so you don't start thinking you have better hair than you think you do lol, but at the same time she listens to what you want to have done. It's a happy balance and I'm extremely satisfied with my cut. It was also only $23 so it's not too hard on the wallet ;) I'll definitely be coming here again! read more

I was a little hesitant about coming here because I had them cut my hair four years ago--from long to very short and it was okay, but the review concerns the haircut I just got yesterday by Jessica. My hair was really really dirty, it was like straw clumpy because I hadn't washed it, but she did soemthing to my hair--washed it three times with three different solutions and after she cut it I couldn't stop touching my hair--it was so soft and thick: I just loved it! I had her cut all the dead ends off, it felt great--but I felt like she could've done a better job with the side-swept bangs. It wasn't as flowy, and was a little amateurish. It didn't sweep like silk, it was more like a bristle broom. My sister and mom had their hair cut there too, and they also felt like she wasn't very good at cutting bangs. The haircut was good, not the best--but I like it better than what I had before. For $25, it was a good deal. They were very busy the whole time I was there, and they did a lot of multi-tasking which resulted in my mom's perm coming out a little too dry, and she felt like she was left to sit around for longer than needed. However, she was really attentive to what I wanted, and when I said I wanted a trim, she was careful to show me just how much she was going to take off. I ended up cutting off more than just a trim's worth, but at my discretion. Overall, I would probably go there to maintain, but get a really nice haircut elsewhere. read more

Came here to update my 3-year-old review! I 100% trust Annie with my haircuts. She remembers me every time, even though I only drop by twice a year. Last time, she even returned a necklace I'd left behind (without realizing) on a previous appointment from February! I was so grateful and thoroughly impressed. I think I'll make the trip back here even if I move away from the Tri-City area. -----------below is the old review from 2015----------- I came here for the first time a month or so ago for a root touchup and a trim. I didn't catch the hairdresser's name, but I think she was Annie that everyone here is raving about, based on a user uploaded photo. Pros: She spent almost an hour trimming my hair about 2 inches! I don't really style my hair and usually wear it down or braid it loosely, so I didn't think much about the trim. But she was very thoughtful about the cut. She made sure she wasn't cutting too much, and suggested that I layer my hair a bit more even though I was iffy about it. My natural hair has uneven waves all over it, so lots of layers tend to just make it look messy and unruly. HOWEVER, when she was done, the cut just looked very natural and felt lightweight without that "trying too hard" look. It still looks like my old hair, only somehow better. I love the cut and will definitely be back for more. Cons: The root touchup was ok - I had about 2 to 2 1/2 inches of dark roots to dye. I'm happy with the way the color turned out and it looks even on the outside. However, I was a bit disappointed that the hair on the inside was not that even. There are areas where the roots are still very dark except for maybe half an inch length from the scalp. If I come back for my next touchup, I'd make sure to ask for a more even coloring. read more

Pre-cut: my wife decided to chop off her locks because it is summer and temps are hitting upper 80s-90s. She chopped it to shoulder length and the place that did it made it seem like they put her hair in a pony tail and just lobbed it off. Needless to say, my 30 year old wife looked like she was a little girl. Post-cut: made an appointment with Annie because a friend recommended me to her. We are from San Jose so the drive was a bit far, but my wife looked GREAT. Told Annie to make her look hot and get creative if you have to. I'm not good at descriptions, but let's say my wife doesn't look like a little girl anymore (thank god) , but a hot secretary I'd take home with me. She looked so smexy. Needless to say. When I find a hairdresser I like, I tend to want to stay with them forever. I like to build relationships with them to the point where they know what I want as well as being able go along with any drastic hairstyle I may feel like doing. That being said, my last two stylists became stay at home moms. Nothing against that, but It just sucked having to find a new person. I found Annie here on Yelp and liked what other people had to say about her and I tried her out. My hairstyle isn't something simple, I have an assymmetrical cut thats really long on one side and pretty much a pixie cut on the other. Annie knew exactly what to do and how to make my hair look even better than I had envisioned. She is so sweet and soft spoken. She really has a way about her like others have said. From all the reviews on here before me, I thought I'd made a good choice in selecting this place to get my haircut. I specifically made an appointment with Annie because everyone seems to like her. Sadly, I am very disappointed with my hair. I brought two pictures of the type of hair I wanted: long, choppy layers and side swept bangs. I would think this cut should be easy since just about every other woman walking down the street has layers and bangs. I showed her the pictures, she said no problem and started cutting away. When she cut my bangs I noticed she pulled them to the side and cut practically straight across instead of angling it like in the picture. When I complained that my bangs didn't look anything like the picture, she said my hair can't do that. WTH does that mean? My hair has been chemically straightened to look like an Asian person's hair. It's flat and straight as a board, cutting bangs should be the simplest thing. Every girl working there, including Annie, had the bangs I wanted. But for some reason, she refused to cut my hair like that. Neither did she give me any layers. She trimmed the front of my hair but the back looks exactly the same: straight and flat. No hint of layering. So I complained about the layers, and she said she can't give me layers because my hair will go "poof". WTH, when someone brings you photos of the EXACT style they want. DO NOT say no problem and then ignore everything the customer requested. My hair is almost exactly as it was when I walked in, except now I have short, retarded bangs that I have to gel down to keep them from sticking up. My only option is to wait for the bangs to grow out so I can go SOMEWHERE ELSE to get it fixed. What a waste of money. read more

My first time here and I scheduled an appointment with Annie. She first spent a good amount of time listening and understanding what kind of cut I wanted. I really appreciated that. She was also kind enough to offer her honest expert opinion. We agreed to a style, and it came out great. Its rare to find a stylist who cares almost as much as you do about your hair. She only charged $20, so it ended up being $24 with tip. My only complaint is that I had to wait about 20 minutes even though I had an appointment-but s*!# happens. I can honestly say this is the only place I have always been happy with my haircuts. All of the ladies who have done my hair there have done a great job, although as some other people have stated, Annie has a special way about her, especially if you don't know what you want - like me, every time. They know what a trim is and take you seriously when you say "I want to keep the length" or "Just the very ends". Can't beat it for just $4 more than super cuts and being infinitely better. I do think it could use a little sprucing up inside, but that is so unimportant it's hardly worth mentioning. read more

I have been coming to see Annie for the past 10 years and I love all of the services I have received. What I like the best about Annie is that I can get a consistent hair cut every time. She knows my style and I don't have to give her any direction unless I want a drastic change. I have very thick hair and she does her magic to thin it out. It also grows very quickly and I usually have her do highlights for me. Recently Annie suggested highlights on the bottom to make it easier to maintain. What a great idea because it can sometimes be a challenge to make it out to see her. I have to admit in the past that I have tried other stylists much closer to home and work but they never live up to Annie. I am a life long customer!! read more

In the last year and half, I have tried Visual Image, Ma Belle's and Le Visage but I never found THAT hairstylist. After I read Yelp reviews on this place, I got a recommendation from someone who suggested I try Annie. What did I have to lose? I was already WASTING my $$$$ on those other places and my hair will grow back if I got a bad haircut. So, I went to Annie and she did a great job on my hair and she even straightened it. I loved the results and it only cost $21. YEAH! I recommended Annie to my daycare provider. After she got her haircut, she loved her hair. She said that she couldn't even see where the layers were because they were so blended in AND she said she felt like a movie star! LOL! Also, her adult daughter is going to try Annie. I took my 8 year old daughter - and Annie made her look so much better. Normally my daughter looks all scraggly after school with her long long hair - even though it is put up every single day. She wanted to keep long hair, so I had Annie take a few inches off, long layers with bangs. My daughter still loves her hair 3 weeks later - and so do I. My friend came to visit me from WA two weeks ago. She warned me that she got the worst haircut from Supercuts. I was ready to see a bad hair cut but when she stepped off the plane I was like - Oh! Forget our lunch plans - lets get you a haircut to fix that mess! No Lie - it was that bad! Of course Annie did her thing and it only cost my friend $20 but my friend loved her haircut and style so much she gave a $20 tip! My friend loved her hair THAT much. OK - here is the low down on this place. Every time I have gone - Annie is the most popular people will wait for her even though other stylist are free. I only saw one lady that got highlights - I am not sure if i will be getting highlights here. There is one lady with a streak of purple in her hair that is doing this cut- double layers or something - it is short layers on top then has long layers in the back. The lady with the purple streak does a really good job and people who know seem to go to her for that. There is another lady that looks conservative and a little bit older - don't let her do that style on you - cuz it isn't her thing. read more
