This branch is dark, with multiple fixtures turned off, and the only working light is the glowing ATM. I felt like bait trying to use the ATM while predators may be hiding somewhere on the property. My alert level was at its highest. How can a money-generating corporation not have the lights on? Are they purposely trying to deter customers after dark? They had three tellers on duty and the one I got was nice but gave me a hard time how the payee's name was made (the supplier omitted LLC). I told her that it was out of my control as that's how the check was written to us and she said she would make an exception this time (insert level 10 eye roll here lol). That location reminds me of a Venus fly trap just waiting to lure people into using the ATM in the evening and getting robbed in darkness. Another site is the farthest from home. However, they have working ATMs in the evening, with minimal street parking where I need to park in the red and quickly do my transactions before the police notice an illegally parked car. The third Chase Bank branch is for this review and the closest from my home. They have three ATMs. Depending on their closing hours, a security guard stands in the lobby. After 8 pm, the branch becomes an issue. The Chase card entry stops working and prevents anyone from entering the lobby. In this situation, I am not at an advantage to visit other Chase branches. Such moments like this infuriates me, and why I have an account with them for this inconvenience.

Over the decades, my family has relied on F&M for loans, commercial banking services, safe deposit boxes and personal checking account services. When I needed a substantial six-figure emergency loan in a hurry, I turned to F&M and they came through. I still maintain my account with F&M although I now live in Houston, because I still have connections bringing me to California. F&M is conservative and perhaps a bit staid, but it is also the soundest bank I can name. I'm only sorry they don't do the silver bar clean and jerk at their annual employee parties any more.

I've passed by this branch many times but would rarely go inside to see the teller, instead opting to use the scan to get into the door for the ATM. Having had good experiences at my SchoolFirst Branch in Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley, I knew this branch was not the exception. MARTIN, the teller 3290, warmly greeted me as I walked in, having no other patrons in front of me. Martin has the unique ability of asking how your day was, as he quietly carries out the transaction. His charismatic nature in holding a conversation and actually being genuinely excited in my life made me smile. I can tell when people are genuine and Martin was one of the best and should appropriately be commended. He made me feel better walking out of the branch than walking in! I don't know who trains these tellers but they are top-notched. After experiencing the horrendous experience of another bank that include stagecoaches on behalf of my dad, this is the exact opposite! As an educator, I feel like my time here is well spent.
