Upon arrival, you are greeted with more homeless and tweakers, especially right outside of the door and near the ATMS Most of the time the ATMs outside are not functioning. The parking lot is extremely dirty. It's full of trash, needles, drug paraphernalia. Please, for your safety, do not go to this branch. They have zero security outside to make sure you're safe. They do nothing about the unhoused hanging out and selling drugs in their parking lot. I refuse to go here unless I have my trained dog with me. Even then, I still do not feel safe there. read more

I started getting letters from Chase about someone else's account with my address on it. I called and spent over an hour on the phone and after multiple call transfers was informed the branch made the mistake and I would have to go down there to handle it in person. After receiving more correspondence the next month I called again and finally relented and went to the branch. They will not do anything to protect my account even though I'm a Chase client too. Has anyone been here in the evening? This has to be the darkest Chase branch that I have ever visited. This branch is dark, with multiple fixtures turned off, and the only working light is the glowing ATM. I felt like bait trying to use the ATM while predators may be hiding somewhere on the property. My alert level was at its highest. How can a money-generating corporation not have the lights on? Are they purposely trying to deter customers after dark? This location is absolutely horrible. There is always a line for the ATM, the one inside the doors never open. Inside during the day when they're open it's worse. There is always THE LONGEST LINES , now that they want to force everyone to use the machines and took away all the tellers . Not a fan or a member of Chase normally, but I came here to get quarters for laundry when I was house sitting near by. There was a line for the two teller windows but an employee walking around it I'm assuming to answer questions. I asked him if I could buy quarters without being a member, he asked if I had cash and since I did he would go and grab them for me. He was back in a minute and I was on my way. Not even at my own bank (which I love) have I had this happen. I came here because I was in an emergency situation and was charged several overdraft fees because I could not physically get to the bank. I came into this branch and Jorge Castaneda helped me out after waiting for about twenty minutes...he was amazing. I really appreciate how helpful he was in trying to get the fees put back into my account...he got most of them reimbursed but a few he could not...I needed his help and I will def go back to him whenever I need help again with Chase. Convenient & normally pretty quick. PROS: Easy Access This location is pretty easy to get to. There's always at least one security guard walking around the parking lot. Most bank branch security guards I've seen stand in one place, so it's good to know that the security guards walk around the entire area. No Waiting - Always a Teller There's always only a little to 0 wait in line, which is pretty awesome for a bank in the downtown area. CONS: Small Parking Lot - Struggle to Park or Pass The parking isn't great because the parking lot is small and tight. There's always someone pulling out, which means there's always at least one person waiting to either park, or to pass the moving car to get to their own car so that they can leave. I've found that getting there earlier in the mornings on the weekday means that I can bypass this struggle. read more

From a 25 year relationship with Wamu then Chase the bank ,the ocean and elm branch , is now in a meltdown . My accountant spent 22 min on hold at the ocean branch . Almost every time we ask for information is different the next time I call . Our company relies on a contact that knows our business and can assist us with banking matters re: getting us the correct information . Recently our banker left and we have not receded any follow up or contact . This is a complaint about the Chase experience, to exclude customer service. Customer service has done their best with what they have been given. It appears this is a top-down issue. I'm not going to blame the branch manager too much, but when selecting a location to open a branch, there should have been a bit more research on the UX/UI/customer experience. To start off, the population in this area should be educated on banking... period. The ATMs are frequently without cash because the primary customer deposits their check and immediately withdraws it. Come on Chase, your budget is big enough to educate your population on the safety concerns when carrying around large amounts of cash... Especially in a neighborhood that that has a higher rate of robbery. Secondly, when I step in this branch, I don't feel like I've walked into a Chase. It feels more like a small time credit union. The music's too loud - I'm assuming the branch manager thinks minorities love to party - and the ratio of advertising vs education is completely skewed. Lastly, the issue of security. This is Chase, not a check cashing place. Your color pallet clearly (not clear to someone not in the marketing/pr/advertising field) claims security. So, why is it there are bums and beggars inside of the building. They hang around like it's a Starbucks. It would be wise to invest money into more physical security. It not only makes worker feel safer, but customers will appreciate that. Speaking of colors... Add more blue lighting. For the past 5 years, Chase has been moving towards a more modern feel. I enjoy this new location since it is in fact closer to work, however the parking situation is not all that. The lot itself is small and street parking is limited because the branch is nestled in between local shops an a residential area. If I could, I would not give this bank any stars. This is the most horrible bank I've ever been to. Long lines, no matter what time of day it is but you should go early in the morning. Be ready to wait at least 30- 40minutes in line because they only have one teller (most of the time or two) working. Really?!? Just one person?!? The employees are nice but the wait sucks. Small parking lot, sometimes you can't even find parking, so you'd have to park around the residential area or have someone drive you. Even if they see 20 people in line, they will not open up a 3rd one. The most bank teller they'll have is 2.
