I believe that was the most difficult step to take, making a choice to just show up to class no matter how intimidating it may seem. I get to class and before I know it I am drenched from head to toe, feeling a massive sense of accomplishment after completing the most challenging and most effective workout that I have ever done in my life. From day one, I knew I had finally found something I could truly stick with and something that I genuinely enjoy. I became a member after my 1st class and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. I sat down with the manager of the gym on that first day before class and he asked me what my goals are, I told him I wanted to lose about 20 pounds and I wanted to be stronger and more confident. He looked me right in the eye and said we can do that....and they did! My first month of kickboxing I lost 18 pounds and my second month of kickboxing I lost another 16 pounds during iLoveKickboxing.com's nationwide 45 day transformation challenge in which I actually won 2nd place out of hundreds of entries throughout the country this incredible honor also came with an amazing $1000 prize from iLoveKickboxing.com! While the actual weight loss shown on the scale is incredible, the most exciting thing to me is that I can feel and see a tremendous difference in my body. I have studied / taught martial arts since 1997. I had an injury that took me out of the game for a few years and I put on a lot of extra weight. I tried coming back to different martial arts schools but they didn't really give me the workout I needed. Enter ILKB in Sandy! This is EXACTLY what I needed! The instructors are fit and knowledgeable, the classes are fun and motivating, and everyone is super friendly and positive. The instructors are knowledgeable about anatomy so they can work with my injury and help me make proper adjustments to the movements as necessary. This ISN'T the obligatory cardio-kick class in the back of a gym taught by some random dude who got his yellow belt when he was 12. The Sandy instructors really know what they're talking about. They are worth the money! I haven't felt this good in years! I've lost 20 pounds and many inches off my waist. I don't feel like I have to conserve my energy through the day anymore. I have plenty! I sleep better, I wake up ready to hit the day, and my neck stopped its constant achy routine. I get compliments from co-workers and family who didn't even know I started classes. And I've only been going for five months! I can't recommend the Sandy location of ILKB enough. Beware, though. I've had a run-in with the Draper location and they were pretty rude to me. AVOID AVOID AVOID!! GROUPON Buyers BEWARE!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID!! If you purchase a Groupon for ilovekickboxing, expect that you will NOT be treated with respect, you are an outsider. You will have to submit to their highly restrictive rules and policies that are NOT published anywhere, unless you purchase a $500+ workout package. I purchased a 10 workout Groupon. I was able to use my first class when it was most convenient for me, Friday mornings. When I arrived for the second class, I was told I needed to purchase a workout package to keep coming on Fridays, since that was an unpublished and never mentioned "Member's Only" day and Groupon/Trial participants are not allowed to workout on Fridays. One of their high-pressure sales persons, Mike, thought that this would result in me purchasing a workout package. Unfortunately for Mike, I'm not susceptible to unethical sales tactics. I refuse to purchase anything from an organization that does not treat people with respect, which is exactly how ilovekickboxing treated me. I contacted Groupon who issued me a refund. I want to ensure others don't have the same experience that I did at ilovekickboxing. Consider carefully before purchasing a workout package or a Groupon, you will almost certainly not get what is promised or agreed upon. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! read more

I really do love coming to workout at ilovekickboxing in Sandy. I have been coming here for two years and the money I have paid has been well worth it. All the instructors push you (but in an encouraging way) to get the most out of your time in class. I'm usually sweating in no time! I have found all the staff to be very friendly and outgoing and will help you if you don't understand a combination. They honestly know what they are doing and will help correct your form as well so you get the maximum amount of force and speed. I always leave class feeling like I got the BEST workout. In regards to the negative review, I understand the complaint about having to share bags when you're paying full price but don't get the maximum benefits of having your own bag while working out. I did leave on two occasions (about a year and a half ago) because I refused to share a bag and the instructors knew exactly why I was leaving. They have since added more class times and moved into a space that can accommodate a lot more bags. I've never seen anyone sharing a bag since moving into this new space. If you are looking for a GREAT workout with great instructors, this is the place to go! I read more

At age 68, after training two days a week for one year at VASA Fitness, I figured I was ready for something different. A friend at VASA suggested I join her at ILOVEKICKBOXING. I was ready to try it out. It was fun, exhilarating, challenging and just the workout I was looking for. It challenges my brain to remember the different combinations. Hopefully I will get better but right now the trainers are giving me guidance, I am sure, more than the others in the class. I noticed it is very important to come rested, having eaten a healthy meal, and be prepared for a real workout. The loud music with great rhythm and beats, helps with coordinating the punching and kicking and makes the experience exciting. There is a friendly atmosphere. Each day we spend a few minutes working one-on-one with other students. We are encouraging each other and giving high fives. Each person takes breaks when they need to catch their breath or get water. The workouts never stop. If I can do it at 68, anyone can do it. Come join us. It's non-stop fun! read more

My best friend told me about how she had been going to kickboxing classes here, and so I had to check it out. I have tried many different gym workouts and routines over the years, and I was skeptical when they sat down with me and asked me what my fitness goals were. But let me tell you, this kickboxing class was the best workout I have ever had in a 60 minute class. I have never been so sore (in a good way,) than after my first class here. I knew I couldn't get these same results and motivation by just working out with my same old routine at the gym. So, I joined ILoveKickboxing in Sandy where I can make my workouts really count. Not to mention the crew there is very nice, and they make you feel right at home. The kickboxing workouts are intense but fun, and the instructors help you with the techniques and really help push you to your limits.... just what I need! I am looking at this listing and wonder how Yelp works things. There are 2 old reviews on the main page. One great, one not great. Not great was from 3 years ago! There are very current reviews, but you have to know where to look. They have been hidden and deemed not relevant. Then there are 47 other reviews. 45 of which are 5 stars. However, the first 2 reviews that people see on the next page do not include the FORTY FIVE positive reviews. What is the deal here. How does a business with FORTY SIX 5 star reviews get an average of 2.5 stars??? Is Yelp about actual reviews or about passing along what they want until they get money? Love at first punch! I started kickboxing (kb) thanks to Groupon in 2014 and I have found that kb is not only fantastic for my body, it also helps my mind and soul. Kicking and punching the dickens out of a 200 lb bag is very therapeutic! Every class provides a complete cardio and strengthening workout for the entire body; you can burn 700+ calories in an hour depending on how hard you push yourself. I am only able to go once a week, but have lost 15 pounds and have toned up every area of my body (I found new muscles that I didn't even know existed!). I can't imagine my life without ilovekickboxing! The staff is fantastic; you couldn't ask for a better group of folks. Got in on the special opening deal and was contacted to schedule my first class. The owners and instructors were very welcoming and friendly. I was guided through a small tour of what we would be doing in class and what they were about. Then class started and it was so much fun! Did a bit of cardio to warm up then began some kickboxing techniques. I've done kickboxing classes at other gyms before, but I love this so much more better!!! I got free PINK gloves and got to punch and kick an actual punching bag rather than just the air. The instructors were very helpful in teaching each of us how to properly punch and kick to avoid injuries. They were very motivating and great! I'm glad I signed up! This place kicks A$$, or rather it will kick yours into shape, The instructors here are great! I was never a fan of gyms and "working out" They make it fun to work yourself into a lather. They actually take the time to learn your name, show you proper technique, and make you feel they genuinely care about helping you. Always a different routine to keep things exciting and work different areas of the body. Although not a combat martial arts class per say, you do use kicking and boxing as part of the routine so it would be unwise to mess with anyone who has taken this class for long. If you're looking for a good workout, something fun and different than the typical fitness centers, I highly recommend giving this a try. read more

I started at iLoveKickboxing-Sandy on a 10-class Groupon because I was putting on weight in college and needed a way to get in shape, but also have a little stress relief. It is by far the most fun workout I have ever done. I don't think anything feels quite as satisfying as wailing on a bag and working up a really good sweat. It was really nice too that they didn't force me to do anything, I could go at my own pace because I was not in great shape. I got a membership and started going 3-4 times a week and immediately started to feel better about myself and I gained awesome muscle tone. They worked with my college-student budget and really made me feel welcome to the gym. I would highly recommend it! read more

I was struggling in finding a workout that could get me motivated, improve my fitness, and improve my weight. This place is simply awesome. The instructors are great at motivating you and providing a great workout with the right combination of bag work and cardio. My youngest daughter takes the tae kwon do classes while my wife, other daughter and I take the kickboxing classes. The pricing is perfect for the entire family and it allows us to work out together and create a life of fitness and health. I love this place. I have been going to kickboxing classes for about 18 months. I am fit and in the best shape of my life. The workouts are both challenging and fun. One of the best things about iLoveKickboxingSandy is that the workouts are varied and they have different instructors and a variety of class times. The instructors motivate you to push harder and get the best possible workout for you. Everyone I know in class who has been going for awhile has seen significant improvement and we keep getting better. There is also a camaraderie and family feel to the place. If I had purchased this package I would have been required to conform to their very restrictive schedule. One class on Fridays?! Nothing during the day? Wow, I'm glad I walked away. I recently got invited here by a friend and was not sure what to expect? I thought I might find something out of a Rocky movie. Boy was I wrong! This was a wonderful experience that I am glad I did. I thought I was going to get some old cranky boxing coach or some weird karate instructor and nothing could be further from the truth. The entire staff was super outgoing, fun and very helpful (especially to me because i am not very coordinated.) I saw the other person's review of "out of shape" instructors but I didn't see any of that?? I would highly recommend this workout to anyone is serious about getting into great shape. I have been taking Kickboxing at the Sandy location and I LOVE IT! I have always been extremely active but I can honestly say that this is the first workout that seems to work every muscle in my body in one hour. Its fun, its challenging and I am sore in muscles I never knew I had! LOL The instructors are encouraging, the music is pumping and the fellow students are happy and uplifting no matter what your level of expertise is. I have been taking classes here for a year now and I love it! All of the instructors are great and do an awesome job at keeping you motivated and working hard while. The classes are always fun with loud music and high energy. They have a morning class and 3 evening classes so I can always fit it into my crazy schedule. Yes, it's a little pricy but like most things, you get what you pay for and it's worth the few extra dollars. Killer workout! Wonderful instructors! Spacious facility! I've been coming for several weeks now and not one workout has been the same. I love the variety. I've tried many different workout programs, including a personal trainer and doing a bootcamp program and iLoveKickboxingSandy has exceeded my expectations. I have been going to I love kick boxing sandy for about a year. I have been able to attend class 3-4 time as a week. Durring that time I have gotten stronger, more endurance, and it is by far the best workout I have ever had. I love the facitity and the instructers who work there. The classes are fun , upbeat, and motivating. I have met great people to work out with. Everyone here is so supportive and considerate of each others goals.
