The registration process was fairly quick, although there was a little sales pitch, paired with the urgency of an expiring "deal" that I had to sit through. I can't fault them, they've got to build their business, but I'm not a fan of sales pitches. The hip hop class itself was outstanding! The instructor was energetic but also made it easy enough for us novices to follow along. At the conclusion of the class, I was sufficiently sweaty and tired, which sounds like a good workout to me. The staff here have been nothing short of professional, warm, and helpful. The gym feels clean and open and even at its busiest hours, you can almost always find machines open or room to do your own workouts without waiting for something to clear up. There's quite a few of the same machine which means you'll always have access to whatever muscle group you're working on. Ide say about 30-40 treadmills, 20 ellipticals for cardio. Never seen anywhere close to half occupied. Anytime I've used the bathrooms they have always been very clean. The staff seem to really take care of the place and are on top of it. I usually go around 2-3pm or so, and Saturday nights if I'm not doing anything. Maybe 10-15 people. The gym is large enough to avoid crowding. Love Planet Fitness!

After a calm and respectful phone call with the owner, my membership was canceled on the spot and I was told I was no longer welcome -- without discussion or attempt at resolution. No matter how good the equipment is, a gym isn't worth it when leadership treats people this way. I was also contacted by the owner after a late-night workout and sent screenshots from the gym's security cameras of me training around 2 AM. I was told I was using equipment improperly, despite using my own attachments and not damaging or altering any equipment. This level of monitoring and the way it was handled felt excessive and added to the overall lack of professionalism and poor communication.

It's very clean and everything is well organized. Gym members are courteous to one another and replace equipment after using it. And it's open 24 hours a day. If I were going to open my own gym and had a huge budget for equipment it would look a lot like The Refinery. Membership is well worth the price.
