I was initially pleased with the design team that came out and provided a great design. They were flexible on pricing and willing to work with me. The first year they were hung they were done on time but it was late January before they came down. They claimed they were a small company and had a death in the immediate family. I gave them a break and used them again the next year. BIG mistake. The second year, after many many calls my lights were turned on about a week before Christmas. They did offer a credit after the fact. The third year (my lights are paid off now) I was very hesitant but it appeared that they had been bought. They provided service level agreements and their communication was much more professional. I was hopeful. They did an early install of just lights in late October. Again very professional and even did a follow up call. The garland was to be hung and lights working the week of thanksgiving. Well, it's now the 9th of December and all I have is poorly hung garland and lights that only half work. I have called for 9 straight days. Filled out online forms. Even spoke to someone last Thursday who said she would send someone in 24-48 hours. I was hopeful when I got a call 2 days ago that a crew was on the way. But no one showed. More calls from both my husband and I. Still nothing.., DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! HORRIBLE service and a complete rip off. So disappointed! read more

This company is the worst. Every year I use this company, I swear it will be my last. I haven't used them in a few years and they told me it would be different this year. Nope, the company showed up three days later than scheduled, at night and claimed they didn't have enough lights to finish the house. Came back the next night. Still didn't finish and it's been two weeks and I call everyday and they say they are coming back, but still haven't. Done-never again! read more

Illuminating Designs has done my Holiday lights for the last 3 years and I have been totally impressed. I am not a fan of heights and that is why I contacted them... They are there when they say they will be and they take down everything when they say they will.. Plus it is a nice clean look.. Nothing gaudy or over the top.. Last year we bought lights with this company and they installed. Never worked well, and they were late taking them down. In fact, despite several calls, they never took down an entire tree of lights from our back yard. No call backs. Because they were storing the lights we decided to give them another chance. We signed an agreement via DocUSign to have the lights installed on 2 Nov. No calls about dates being changed. Date came and went. We chased. No call backs. We chased. We finally rescheduled. Date came and went. No call. We rescheduled again. Date missed. We were finally told it will happen on 7 December - more than one month late. All the weather in the world cannot account for that extraordinary delay. It is now 6 December and it is supposed to happen tomorrow. No confidence in that. No matter what happens tomorrow or whenever they finally show up ... I am done with them. Service is beyond terrible. I think they agreed to 2 Nov just to get me to sign on and never intended to do the work on time. That is dishonest. Add last year's fiasco to this. DONE. Avoid this shoddy, dishonest, zero-customer service company at all costs. read more

Avoid at all cost. Worst experience ever! Last year I cut them some slack but to have two years of the exact same issues...lights not coming on, timers missing and bulbs poped. If that weren't bad enough, the owner would never call us back after many promises that he would. AVOID the hassle go with some other company. Had this company come out and install lights last year after "winning" their service in a raffle. This year I called them to come out and install lights I bought from the offer last year. After going to their business to pick up my lights because their quote was so high, I have received the complete run around. It took 3 times to get all the Lights from them. They referred me to another Xmas Lighting Company who came out and said they won't install Illuminating Design Lights! This is company THEY referred me to! illuminating designs will not return my calls. Nor honor their commitment to me. read more

This is the 2nd year in a row that I have used this company in one of the properties I manage and just like last time the job was delayed and now is incomplete. We will never use them again and suggest you don't either. Very disappointing!! read more

Absolutely horrible!!!! After 10 years of working with this company I am done. Each year has gotten progressively worse with customer service and installation. We continued to pay early in the summer with the promise that service would be better. The agreed upon installation date was by Thanksgiving and certainly this year there were no weather delays but they were a week late and only did a partial installation. As I write this, one wreath no longer works and the roof lighting is not complete. I have sent multiple emails with no results. I do not recommend. read more

They damaged our gutters during install. I have contacted them several times to come and fix them but they are not responsive. It has been over two months now. I have a signed paper by the crew that the gutters were damaged and they even took pictures. Now the company is trying to say that the pictures were taken prior to the install and they were damaged before. Not the case, I would definitely go with another company and avoid this one. read more
