Someone using a business name called Advance America is running scams and using checks with Midwest…read moreTitle Loans to deposit into accounts. These checks are stamped with a name of Henry Madison. They put deposits into your account totalling the money you have in there, then tell you you have 30 minutes to wire them their funds back as a show of good faith. I caught them pretty quickly but it still put my financial situation in a spin. My bank will deal with it but if Midwest title loan is for real they need to be aware!!! Canals and Trails Credit Union offers an ATM/Debit card, just about any service any banks nearby provide (well, except conning you out of your own money every chance they get), many different types of accounts to chose from and different programs available to help you be financially responsible. In the entire history of U.S. credit unions, taxpayer funds have NEVER been used to bail out a credit union! According to Bankrate.com, "Credit unions have topped the consumer satisfaction ratings in American Banker's annual survey for 12 years in a row." Treated more like a friend than a customer, which is perfect in a growing town like Plainfield. OUTSTANDING customer service is found with Dawn and Sam at the counter. While I was sitting right there, like my business was not as important, and they couldn't let the 3 people standing around doing nothing answers the calls. And, it Resulted in giving me the wrong account number -which meant I could not access my funds, or even use the Cash station, after I opened the account. It took days for them to figure out the problem - and never really admitted they made a mistake - -it somehow was my fault they gave me the wrong account number...service never got better. Even after the Merger. A few months in, I just took my business elsewhere.
