They dim to about half brightness, and that is it. This would not be an issue, but the screens are usually very dark, which combined with the lights makes it difficult to see the movie, especially during scenes with low lighting. My most recent experience was a little better, as the screen seems to have been the proper level of brightness, but the lights were still on. I appreciate the big reclining seats, but I go to the movies to watch a movie, not to sit in a comfortable chair. In summary, PLEASE JUST TURN OFF THE LIGHTS RMC!

The "Route 66 Twin Drive-In Theater also has Route 66 in its favor. It's unique "no speaker poles" parking allows the 1st cars arriving to set the pace. Tall vehicles in the back (where "Flo" & I park), gets to see the crowd, as well as the movie. The "experience" is why I attend drive-in's. Watching people with their creative pick-up truck seating, people walking around with their buddies, kids in their PJ's & families being families. What a blessing to have such a wonderful theatre in our small community. For $7.00 you can see top…read morerated movies, eat popcorn and have a drink! In the city, that would easily cost $25.00. It is great how someone from the staff gives an opening statement before the show, and at the end, they often stand by the front door and hand out mints. How cool is that! The owners are also community minded and offer shows for the school children as a field trip. That is great! This is such a unique building, and has been tastefully updated. I certainly encourage you to support this business every chance you have! We want to keep them around for years to come!
