If you're looking for something organic, free-range or fair trade in Mullingar, chances are Ilia are your first port of call.
Their coffee shop is a treat too. You can people-watch downstairs, or crash out on the couches upstairs. If you're dining, there's a bright seated area in the back.
Their coffee is delicious too. It starts at €2.10 for filter coffee, and €2.75 for a cappuccino and goes up from there. Pretty average prices I suppose. But, it tastes great. The food is pretty decent, although not to the same standard as the coffee. They've a breakfast and lunch menu, and some ice-creams as Summer specials. Considering how good their tapas bar is, it's a bit weird that the food at the coffee shop is so nondescript.
Oh, and there's no wi-fi (or if there was, it wasn't working) so if you're planning a working lunch, you'll be at the mercy of your network operator. read more
