The staff cut us up a platter of their cheese in the cellar. Tiramisu for desert topped the 5 star experience. EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: You need reservations that can only be made by calling them, no online reservations capabilities. You should call 5 days in advance. Worth it. Our bill came out to less than $250 + Tip for 2 bottles of wine, 6 main entrees, 2 appetizers, 3 Tiramisu, and cheese platter - NOT BAD if you ask me. Because we gave them a nice tip - they gave us a bottle of wine as a thank you gift.

We ended up here by mistake (confused it with another spot), and unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations. The restaurant fills up with reservations for two seatings, and from the moment we sat down the pace felt rushed. We ordered drinks and a starter while deciding on the rest, but multiple staff members kept coming by trying to take our full order. It felt like they were pushing to move things along quickly. There were a couple positives. The chicken livers to start were quite tasty and something we didn't see often on other menus. The primi were underwhelming. The pasta didn't taste fresh like many other trattorias in Siena, and the dishes overall were just average. The lasagna in particular was mushy, and the sauces didn't stand out. The secondi were slightly better -- pork ribs, Barolo-braised beef, and a "small chicken" -- but still nothing that justified the higher prices. They do have an underground wine cellar built into a cave, which is interesting to see, but there are other places in Siena with much larger and more impressive cellar spaces. Also worth noting, they add a "10% tax" charge rather than the typical €2 coperto per person. Overall, a rushed and fairly mediocre meal at a higher price point. With so many better places to eat in Siena, this is one I'd skip.

I made the right choice of venue. What an absolutely gorgeous outdoor cafe with charming, efficient and totally on the ball staff and the fastest service I've had since arriving in Italy. I even had a few language lessons with the waitstaff who humoured me as I practiced my very beginner Italian on them. The first thing that caught my eye and consequently ordered was piadina alla porchetta. A spectacular choice. The piadina itself was light, slightly toasty, with a nice hint of olive oil but the main attraction was the pig. Delicious, sumptuous, well seasoned porchetta made this dish a massive hit for me. And for just €5 I was suitably impressed. I happily spent a solitary hour here soaking up the atmosphere, sipping on coffee and reflecting on my delicious meal. Thumbs up from me. Next time I'll be trying their gelato desserts too. They looked delicious!

A quite ambiance of refinement We ordered the pre-fix meal and they allowed us to substitute an item. With a glass of prosecco our appetizer was yellow carrot soup with a cauliflower -garlic bruschetta ; very tasty and unique. Next, a mushroom flan in a Parmesan pressed bowl. Paired well with the Multefalco wine. Then came the pasta. Prepared table side it was mixed with salted butter the shaved truffles were added. Not only superb taste but not heavy as I expected. And this too paired well with the regional wine! The meat dish followed. I had the veal with a balsamic demi glaze and my wife had the pork( a bit dry). Veal was tasty and tender. Next, dessert was a vanilla ice cream crepe covered in a tri-berry sauce. This was above average As to the wine, this is my first trip to Umbria where I finally tasted a superb regional wine; Multefalco. Two versions exist. The Rosso ,which is a blend , is a light bodied , fruit-forward wine. The other is a bit more expensive, called the Sagratino. This big, bold, tannin-rich wine easily unwinds in less then an hour into a well balanced, fruit-structured intricate wine. This is an undervalued wine. The most expensive we had in any restaurant was 45 euros for a bottle. Take advantage of it! I gave this place my highest rating for Gubbio because of its ambiance, service, wine knowledge and preparation, price but most of all the PASTA
