The view is the draw - and rightly so: beautiful! While the outdoor seating is covered, they also have indoor seating in the event of cold weather. Service was friendly, fast, helpful. Wasn't sure what to expect: wondered if the view was the main draw and food wouldn't live up to the overall hype...but there was no need to worry - food was really good. We tried 2 different pasta dishes, the wild boar, and 2 appetizers - enjoyed everything we had. Highly recommend reservations if it's a nice day.

Was looking for a place to have dinner for my 40th birthday. We went to a few places and the vide wasn't right. 3rd stop and this was perfection! Couldn't have been a better milestone birthday dinner.

Friendly staff excellent food wonderful view what more could you ask for? Seems to be a family run restaurant i looked like mom was in charge of the kitchen.

Brilliant. The Mediterranean Bruschetta was spectacular as a starter. The views are spectacular. The owner is gracious.

Amazing food. Amazing atmosphere. Just an incredible scene all around. Make a reservation as this is probably the most scenic restaurant in Assisi. I would also recommend trying for the seats at the very top of the porch because the gorgeous view.

Stellar terrace view (guests had moved inside after it started to rain)

Spectacular view over the Umbrian countryside. Food was pretty good, not amazing, with a few unique local offerings like wild boar stew with orange zest, and Umbrian beer. The menu contains allergen information for every dish: gluten, dairy, nuts, garlic, you name it. Including a few good gluten-free options. Staff was very friendly. We'd definitely come back!

We found this place walking back to our hotel and what a find it was. The food is among the best we've had in Italy and the wine from this region is outstanding. The views are incredible and made for great pictures a relaxing evening for all. They can prepare meals kids love also. We like that they serve later and stay open later than most places in Assisi.

Vanilla tart with hazel nut and fresh fruit.

Great food and service. Our tour guide suggested this location. The place has balcony seating with tremendous views of Assisi. My family had the ravioli, wild boar stew, cod fish, and pasta with artichoke and lamb. All were out of this world. A definite must do if in Assisi.

The ambiance is charming, with a cozy, small-shop feel tucked away in the alleys of Italy. Umbria, the region's cuisine, is known for its bold flavors, local wines, and use of fresh herbs. We tried a few standout dishes: * Tagliolini al tartufo - 5/5 (Rich, earthy truffle flavor, perfectly cooked pasta) * Gnocchi al ragù - 4/5 (Soft gnocchi with a flavorful meat sauce) * Agnello (lamb) with roasted potatoes - 4/5 (Tender and well-seasoned, but could use a bit more crispiness) * Legumi e cereali soup (legume, cereal, and pumpkin soup) - 4/5 (Warm and hearty, great for a chilly day)

The service was pretty mediocre, as well as the food. I as expecting greatness, I mean a trattoria in Assisi!? C'mon!! I was definitely disappointed. My mother ordered gnocchi even though the sauce was pretty decent, they were made by flour, not potatoes, meaning no authentic. I had beef with rosemary and it was kinda bland, not what I was expecting. Prices were average, and they charge €2.5 Cover charge per person ( the infamous Cuperto) Not recommended

This place rocked. Located just above the Basilica of St. Francis, Trattoria al Camino Vecchio…read moreoffers genuine Italian food. I know...needle scratch on the vinyl record. You're thinking what does a handsome American of Filipino-Hawaiian descent know about genuine Italian food? Well I get to say genuine because my Italian-born driver Rolando (see my review of his services) said it was! Service was incredibly friendly and this was pretty amazing because there was no English in our transaction. We all tried our best to order and say pleasantries in Italian. I would like to add that Rolando did come by and help clarify a mix up on my wine order (I almost got a whole bottle to myself oops). I drink, but not like that! But the host and waitress were soooo nice! I got the tagliatelle all' Assisana, a scrumptious fresh pasta with porcini mushrooms, pancetta, in a light aromatic tomato sauce. My wife and kid shared a simple pasta marinara plate and a chicken stewed in tomato sauce. Another shared a margherita pizza with her cousin. Everyone was happy. Definitely recommend.

My mom and I got the mushroom risotto and the steak with tomatoes, arugula, Parmesan and olive oil…read more The food was tasty- mushroom risotto was delicious and the steak was cooked and seasoned well. I'm a little upset bc the meat didn't come with arugula like it said it did. It came with some shreds of lettuce and later when asked about it the waiter said there was some problem with the kitchen... if that's the case i would think they would ask if that's okay first before serving? I mean I've been a server before at numerous places and that seems like the proper etiquette instead of assuming i wont know what the difference between arugula and lettuce is.. rant over. Other than that, good food good service
