Pretty good experience - a little on the fence…read more I was presented a gift card to the Sugar House Day Spa and Salon. It had been some time since I received a massage, so I was looking forward to this visit! There is a parking garage conveniently located next to the spa, so that was great. The staff at the entrance promptly greeted me and asked if it was my first time. The process of checking in and getting around was simplified by them taking the time to walk me where I needed to go rather than just telling me, which was appreciated. I was walked to the area where I changed into a robe and was subsequently accompanied to the massage area. Unfortunately for me, there were a lot of stairs, something that my knee and foot surgeries did not appreciate. It was a little awkward to sit in a small, public waiting area wearing a robe but it's a minor sacrifice. I had a massage with Audrey, who was very nice and professional. I appreciated that she took the time to ask me about my concern areas and my goals for the massage. The massage itself was good, though I unfairly compare massages to my former therapist who was exceptional. Audrey was very communicative and, even for someone who finds it difficult to relax, it was a good experience. Overall, The Sugar House Day Spa is worth a visit - it's also worth purchasing a gift card for someone. They will appreciate it! (NOTE: you can use the funds from the gift card to supplement a tip)

I can't rave enough about Pure Aesthetica. I've gotten facials at 2 other places in the local area…read morebut found the places just lacking and quite frankly, the prices are too expensive. I found Pure Aesthetica by doing a pot of research to make sure they use products that don't irritate my skin. Came here before the pandemic and during the pandemic. Their protocols during the pandemic was appreciated and I'm so happy they took precautions because it made me feel confident in going especially that I was desperate. I had some major maskne issues that really needed to be addressed. Tiffany always does my facials and she's great. She tailors the facial according to your needs. I always get the regular 3 in 1 facial. My favorite is the micro current and the oxygen afterwards. It just makes my face so nice, subtle, and soft. Been coming here for about 2 years now and counting! They have specials for new customers so check that out if you're interested in trying. They also get booked very quickly so make sure to book way in advance. Prices are affordable in my opinion. Other places charge over $200 for a facial which does not even include micro current or oxygen or microdermabrasion. The 3 in 1 is so affordable and is about an hour. This is the best quality of facial for your money. Plus staff is fully vaccinated!

My friends gave me a facial groupon Gift to Spa180 as a birthday present and I was excited to use…read moreit as an opportunity to pamper myself. I was able to make an appointment through email and they told me to come in on Sunday at 2 PM. I was ready to head out when I saw I had a few missed calls and voicemails asking if I could come in at 1 PM. However, by the time I checked it was already 20 mins past that. So I called them back and they told me that they had some sort of emergency and if I could come in at 4 PM instead. Thankfully, I was able to move some things around go in at that time. Once I arrived, I was asked to fill out a form that they would send me via email. I sat there for a few minutes until she did so. But moments later, the aesthetician came out and said that she is ready for me. I told her that I am still waiting for them to send me a form that I was asked to fill out. There seemed to be some misunderstanding or lack of communication between the front desk, person, and the aesthetician. I wish they had sent these forms before my appointment so I didn't have to waste time doing it there and cut into the time I was supposed to be starting the facial. I felt very rushed towards the beginning of my service. While I was filling out the form, the aesthetician (Darat) offered me some tea, which was a lovely touch. Then I headed in for my spa service. The actual facial itself was wonderful. One of the best ones I've gotten in a while. I told her that I recently got a nose piercing and to be careful around it as it is still healing. She was extremely careful and I felt no pain or sensitivity. She even threw in some head, arm and foot massages which I absolutely needed! It felt like a true spa experience. That is the reason I am giving it 4 stars, but docking one star because I wish the actual spa was a bit more organized in their scheduling and overall logistics. I think they have the potential, and I think I will be returning for another facial with Darat!

After a crazy week of work, I decided to play hookie on Friday and take a me day. I arrived on time and lucked up with 2 hr street parking on Madison. This spa is located in Old Town Alexandria so parking can be tricky. Anyhoo it's in the same building as One Life Fitness. Very easy to find. Not too many amenities to enjoy before being serviced and a very small restroom/changing area. Literally 1 toilet and 2 showers. The entire spa was really small. I felt bad like I was cheating on my regular masseuse. LOL but this was a gift! So I guess I can make an exception ;) My service was with Suzy. I opted for the 50 min hot stone massage and I did inform Suzy that I wanted a full body reset and gave her the green light to really apply pressure and dig deep into my massage. Deep tissue, full body massage!!! Susy was a little too gentle with me lol my massage felt more like a body rub with hot stones. Anyhoo! Very sweet place- just not for me. Happy Yelping!

I was specifically looking for skilled Licensed Massage Therapists, and their setup looked promising. I booked a 75-minute therapeutic session with Tatiana and it was far beyond "good." Tatiana is simply amazing, and my only regret was not booking a full two hours! Tip for first-timers: The building is set back from Duke Street and isn't directly visible from the road, so give yourself a few extra minutes to find it. It is well worth checking out, and I will definitely be booking a 2-hour session with Tatiana on my next visit.
