We even had to shift back our class one hour due to our ship's port time changing and they were very nice and accommodating. Once we arrived, we were greeted by the owners Alberto and Maurizio. While we waited for the other students, we chit chatted and drank a fruity beverage. Everyone was just lovely and charming. The space was bright and inviting. Luigi taught our class - he was extremely knowledgeable and was able to teach those of us that didn't speak any Italian (with a little translation help from Maurizio). We made 3 kinds of pizzas, all using equipment we have in our homes for easy duplication of the recipes. I had to save my calzone for dinner as everything was so delicious and filling! Being in Italy, we of course had wine with our meal. If I ever return to Naples, I will definitely take another class. They teach so much more than just Italian food. I'd LOVE to take the pastry class!

I a big pizza fan, and as soon as I got to Naples I visited all of the well-known pizzerias you would read about in different magazines. De Michelle, Di Matteo... The pizza Francesco had us do with our own hands was just as good if not even better. It's a fun, hands-on class, and Francesco is a great teacher. He explained the science behind the recipes, gave us some background about Neapolitan pizza, and also introduced us to other local restaurants we wouldn't have heard of if it wasn't for him (not many locals speak English very well, plus, the dude is a huge foodie so he knows what he talks about). The time sped by as we learned about authentic Napoli pizza, making dough, the oven, cheeses, tomatoes and so much more. It was just the 2 of us and Francesco looked after us and was super-attentive. In no time we were tasting cheeses and comparing different tomatoes, making our own dough, trying Scugnizielli (omg - I was in food heaven) and laughing loads. Despite getting ready for opening, Tommaso was with us the whole time, showing us what to do and gently correcting our mistakes. We learned so much and in a relaxed, enjoyable way and that was down to Francesco. You guys are amazing and we will never forget our time spent with you. I 100% recommend this tour to everyone. And you get to eat first class pizza! There is no better way to spend your time in the city of Naples.

That's because words alone are truly not sufficient to explain the entire experience from start to finish. First of all, the class takes place at Mamma Agata's home in Ravello and it is situated in the high elevation of the mountains overlooking the water. The views are priceless and will take your breath away. You may see donkeys that are used to help farmers gather and move the incredible lemon crops. Chiara, Mammas daughter, now conducts the classes and is wonderful and so knowledgeable and welcoming. You will spend the day cooking with Chiara and her sous chef and learning about the proper rules and techniques required to create Italian cuisine. You will also drink excellent wine while cooking and eating! Time is given to relax and walk around the terraced vegetable and flower gardens before returning to the kitchen. All the while you will get to know the other guests which is a lot of fun. We did not want the class to end but we walked away with a once in a lifetime experience and memory that exceeded all expectations! We strongly recommend that you hire a driver to get you back and forth from Mamma Agata's home & to start the process of getting a reservation early. We also suggest not eating much before you go.. you'll be eating plenty of great food all day. Don't forget your camera! Also, you will have time to order her products before you go if you wish. There is no pressure to do so. Don't miss this experience!!

When I think back to all my trips to Europe, all the sites and restaurants, this is absolutely at the top of my list for most memorable experiences. Let me paint the picture for you. It's an all day cooking class at Mamma's home in Ravello. We hired a driver who picked us up and dropped us off in Positano - I recommend you do the same and hire a driver. Upon arrival you're greeted with a warm smile, hug, and hello from Chiara, Mamma's daughter, who ultimately runs the show. You're then greeted with the best lemon cake you'll ever have in your life. Once the whole group arrives, Chiara sets the stage for the day and everyone heads to the kitchen and the cooking begins. Chiara, her husband Gennaro, and of course, Mamma, do all the cooking as they share tips and tricks. The wine starts flowing, the sampling begins and the day just progresses from there. Their home is stunning - it's located on a cliff and the views are special. Our group was great - about 12 people or so (mainly married couples). The food was incredible - such good quality and taste. Those fritters...are you kidding me?!? This is not a cheap experience, but it's one you will never forget.

Overall the tour guide was very informative and we had a lot of fun.

We began at 10 am. We drove in by taxi from Positano to the main square because apparently there is no drop off/pick up anywhere else in the town. We walked about 20 minutes to the farm - we got lost a little bit but you just have to follow the main road. The farm tour was very educational - our guide explained about the history, farming practices, the hard labor and quality of these lemons. We started the tour with fresh lemon slices and ended with scrumptious lemon snacks ( cake, sorbet, lemonade and limoncello). For the cooking class, we helped make 3 dishes, including a deeeelicious lemon pasta, and had an incredible 4 course meal with wine and limoncello! I loved getting to taste every part of the lemons and in many different ways. This was one of the best meals in Amalfi Coast and one of the top experiences. Everyone was very friendly and nice. I cannot recommend this enough!

We did the Master Class and made gnocchi with a basil pesto, a meatball pie/casserole and a lemon almond cake. The class size is max of 12 people but we got lucky and were the only ones that class! The cooking class is held inside of the Michel'angelo restaurant which is stunning! Greenery and lemon's everywhere. We walked in and met Chef Gianluca and his wife, Holly and they immediately offered us to sit and relax with a glass of Prosecco. After our fill of Prosecco we headed to the kitchen and got cooking. Gianluca is a really talented Italian chef who taught us many things about Italian cooking styles and ingredients. Alex and I both cook so we really enjoyed learning new ways to cook in the kitchen. Also they grow most of their own ingredients and make their own wine! Holly is Australian so we were able to converse the most with her and she was breaking down the processes for us. She was so friendly and a sensational woman! After we were done cooking and having copious amounts of wine we sat down to enjoy our 3 course lunch and boyyyyy did we make some delicious food! I admit to being not much of a chef, however today I felt like one. Ingredients so simple. Instructions simple. John Luca, a fourth generation Caprese, made our instruction and efforts so simple and easy to follow at home. It just was, in one word, divine. The duo are an exceptional pair and even if you are not a chef (like me) this is an absolute MUST DO while vacationing on Capri.

I had almost given up until I stumbled onto the Sorrento Cooking School at Esperidi resort. For €60/person (cash only) my husband and I were able to enjoy a four hour cooking class in a beautiful and clean setting. The class was taught by an Italian chef that spoke only a few words of English so she had a British woman (who had been living for years in Italy) to translate for her. Very little was lost in translation. First we made pizza fritti (individually sized fried pizza dough topped with homemade marinara sauce, parmesan cheese, and basil). Afterwards we were treated to a glass of Prosecco and invited to enjoy our pizza outdoors on their beautiful patio complete with tall lemon trees. We also made cheese filled ravioli, white fish and potatoes, and tiramisu. At the end of the class we all sat at a communal table to enjoy the fruits of our labor with as much water and wine as our hearts desired! We were sent home with an apron and a copy of all the recipes we had just prepared. I highly recommend this class for anyone who would like to bring a taste of Italy back home.
