This place was recommended by our tour guide. We were not disappointed. The fresh bread with…read morebalsamic vinegar and olive oil was marvelous. The balsamic was some of the best we ever tasted. We shared a pasta dish with meat sauce and tuna with sesame crust and a fennel salad. The tuna was incredibly tasty and obviously very fresh. The pasta was out of this world. It and the sauce were very rich and tasty. This was as good a meal as we've had in some time. Our waiter, Tristan was attentive, helpful and fun. He obviously takes great pride in doing his job well. We'd go back in a second!

5 Stars - Delicious Food and Outstanding Service!…read more We returned to Amedeo Restaurant in Rome for a second day, and once again, we had a wonderful dining experience! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was exceptional. A special thank you to our waitress, Nelia, who was incredibly attentive, efficient, friendly, and professional. Despite how busy the restaurant was, she made sure we were well taken care of throughout our meal. We were especially impressed by how hard the entire staff worked. The waiters and waitresses were constantly on their feet, moving quickly from table to table while continuing to provide excellent service. It's wonderful to see such dedication and teamwork. The great food, hardworking staff, and outstanding hospitality made our second visit with Asma just as enjoyable as the first. Highly recommended! We would definitely return on our next visit to Rome!

My husband and I ended our Italy trip in Geata as we wanted to stay in a more remote area of Italy…read moreon our way back from Amalfi coast to Rome. We took the train into the city, and got a 15 minute taxi drive to the hotel. We decided to book Albergo as they had one of the best TripAdvisor reviews in the area (plus a private beach), however we didn't realize that it is about a 20 minute drive to the town center - which will cost you a $15 taxi. They have a city bus, but it does not run that often (only once an hour on the weekends, and less during the week). However, we still enjoyed our time in Geata. The hotel was nice and clean, and the grounds were kept up nicely. Our plan was to relax in Geata and that's exactly what we did. The beach area was decent (clean, crystal clear water), and they also have free lounge chairs, tables and umbrellas. In addition, they have a nice freshwater pool at the top of the resort, however the hot tub wasn't what I would consider a "hot" tub. It was basically the same temp of the pool and had jacuzzi jets. For our room we got a King suite that faced the ocean. The room could have used some updating, but I thought it was all apart of the old Italian charm of the resort. The patio off our room was HUGE and had a bistro table and lounge chairs. Apart of our room rental included breakfast, which was really nice. The spread included everything from eggs to croissants and fruit. A nice mix of options. Breakfast was served at the only restaurant at the resort, and we also went there for dinner. For Dinner my husband and I got the veal marsala and filet. Both were amazing, but the tiramisu was the best for dessert!!! I would give the restaurant for dinner 5 stars! Overall for the value, Albergo, was a great place to stay and somewhere to consider if you want to avoid the touristy area of Italy.

With low light and candles on the table, the ambiance was as romantic as it gets. The door was propped open and beautiful music wafted in from around the corner. We started by sharing the tonnarelli pasta which had cacio cheese, lemon, mint, and Sichuan pepper. My first course was followed by duck with apricots and a caramelized raspberry reduction. The duck was cooked perfectly and I enjoyed the sweetness from the fruit and reduction that were paired with it. I ended the night with a strawberry semifreddo that was cold and refreshing. We loved the food and the atmosphere so much that we found ourselves there again the following night. On night two, the dining room was packed and we had the option of taking the last seat by the door or eating in their bakery next door. We opted for the bakery. There was one couple finishing when we were seated so we essentially had a private dining area for the night, which was perfect. They started us with bruschetta and olives and then we split the maltagliati with white ragu sauce, red pepper cream, and pecorino cheese. It was "lick the bowl" delicious! I got the chicken thighs stuffed with tomatoes and olives and served with a balsamic vinegar reduction, which was full of flavor. On our last night in Italy, I couldn't pass on a proper tiramisu. I can't say enough great things about this place. We literally just happened upon it based on the location of our accommodations but it was definitely one of the best finds of our entire trip.

The cocktails were very meticulously prepared and very good. Once we ordered food, we transitioned to wine. We split the meat and cheese plate, which was one of the best plates I've had for the quality and quantity. My friend got the gnocchi, which she said was one of the best pasta dishes she's had in her life. I had the cacio e pepe, which was very simple and delicious. The place was rather slow from the service standpoint, but other than that, we can see ourselves coming back again or recommending it to our friends!

We ordered sea bass fillet rolled in zucchini and honey mushrooms. Fish was tender, soft, and delicious with great seasoning. We also ordered Ravioli with white truffles and it was delicious as well. Ravioli tasted like it was freshly made and it tasted great with truffles. Lastly, we got tiramisu for dessert. This tiramisu was prepared by an artist. Just by looking at the dish, it was very pretty to look at. It was presented on a beautiful plate with thin chocolate cookie on top with sugar decoration and underneath was a creamy white tiramisu. I loved this dish because it was unique dessert with great sweet flavor and great presentation. The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly with great attitude and they are attentive. I think they liked the look on my face every time they brought out the dishes because their presentation was great. Whoever was the Chef that night, I would give him or her an award. This restaurant was unique just like Rome. Highly recommended!

We opted for the Roman-style cuisine tasting menu with wine pairings. The service was warm and welcoming, and the ambiance was quiet and romantic. I appreciated the decor, especially the various wine bottles displayed throughout, and I also liked the dishes the food was served on. That said, this restaurant leaned a little too "foodie" for my taste. I also discovered that I really dislike truffles! My husband, on the other hand, enjoyed everything--including my leftovers. The wines were fantastic across the board. I also want to mention the pricing was shockingly affordable for what we got at dinner, which again, included the wine pairing. If you consider yourself a foodie and enjoy creative, thoughtfully prepared dishes, Ristorante Ad Hoc is worth a visit.
