We took the train into the city, and got a 15 minute taxi drive to the hotel. We decided to book Albergo as they had one of the best TripAdvisor reviews in the area (plus a private beach), however we didn't realize that it is about a 20 minute drive to the town center - which will cost you a $15 taxi. They have a city bus, but it does not run that often (only once an hour on the weekends, and less during the week). However, we still enjoyed our time in Geata. The hotel was nice and clean, and the grounds were kept up nicely. Our plan was to relax in Geata and that's exactly what we did. The beach area was decent (clean, crystal clear water), and they also have free lounge chairs, tables and umbrellas. In addition, they have a nice freshwater pool at the top of the resort, however the hot tub wasn't what I would consider a "hot" tub. It was basically the same temp of the pool and had jacuzzi jets. For our room we got a King suite that faced the ocean. The room could have used some updating, but I thought it was all apart of the old Italian charm of the resort. The patio off our room was HUGE and had a bistro table and lounge chairs. Apart of our room rental included breakfast, which was really nice. The spread included everything from eggs to croissants and fruit. A nice mix of options. Breakfast was served at the only restaurant at the resort, and we also went there for dinner. For Dinner my husband and I got the veal marsala and filet. Both were amazing, but the tiramisu was the best for dessert!!! I would give the restaurant for dinner 5 stars! Overall for the value, Albergo, was a great place to stay and somewhere to consider if you want to avoid the touristy area of Italy.

I wasn't sure what to expect (this being my honeymoon) but my wife and I couldn't have been happier with our stay! For ease of review, I'm going to list my comments below. 1. The staff - The staff at the Fagiano are honestly the nicest, most courteous, professional, and respectful of any hotel staff I have ever encountered. My wife couldn't believe the service we received (which was so unfamiliar to her as an American) that she didn't want to leave on our last day. We've stayed at hotels in Chicago, NYC, Rome, Paris, etc that cost almost four times as much but their service from front desk to dinner table couldn't even hope to compare. 2. Special requests - Being familiar with the hotel I had requested through my booking.com reservation a room on the second floor terrace. Not only was this request able to be fulfilled, but I was also contacted via email from the hotel to let me know the status of my request. The second floor of the hotel faces the Sea and these rooms have a huge terrace where one can sit and drink wine, eat Gaeta olives, and Italian cheese while watching the sun set. In a country filled with amazing views (and my wife loved the views from Assisi, Orvieto, Cinque Terra, Ravello) the view from your second floor terrace at the Fagiano rivals/beats them all. 3. Cleanliness - the hotel staff did an excellent job cleaning our room each day. The floors were always clean of any sand we might have carried in and we never wanted to fresh towels. To summarize, I highly recommend the Fagiano to anyone visiting this part of Italy. I use yelp and trip advisor all the time during my travels and this is my first review that I have felt I needed to write (My experience was that good)!

The property is scenic and overall gorgeous... offering a waterfall cascading into a pool, many terraces with seating, and almost every part of the grounds offer great views of the beach/sea. Once you get down to the beach, this resort is located near the end. Worth checking out the small cave. Otherwise you can walk a couple kilometers along the sand to the other end, where there is a public beach. I prefer lounging in the sand or playing in the water, however there are many sun chairs to lounge in while you soak up the sun. The breakfast buffet served daily was delicious. A large selection of pastries, cheeses, cured meats, fruit, fresh squeezed juices, cereals, and also a hot food option (just order through one of the many kind staff members). Did not eat any other meals during our stay at this property but did enjoy apertivi on one of the terraces. Highly recommend this place. Quality service, paradise like oasis, and perfectly located between the towns of Sperlonga and Gaeta to enjoy exploring both areas. **if wedding venue planning, recommend checking this place out. A wedding occurred during one night of our stay. The staff decorated the grounds beautifully for the reception and neither our stay or the wedding party was disrupted by one another.
