Gluten free pizza!
Kate L.

Okay, so eating Italian food in Barcelona seems a bit weird, but surrounded by foreign food I wasn't sure was celiac-friendly, I was desperate for some gluten free food, no thinking or explaining required. Il Piccolo Focone fit the bill. A bit of begging and a twenty minute walk from our hotel later and my mom and I found ourselves at this amazing little gluten free haven. I found this restaurant using my Find Me Gluten Free app, and it absolutely did not disappoint! When we walked in, a server immediately asked if one or both of us was gluten free. Almost everything on the menu could be made gluten free, including the pizza and pasta. After more than a month in the not-so-gluten-free-friendly city of Paris, I was DYING for some pizza, and this one was the most authentic, delicious one I've ever had. The crust was still sprinkled with fresh flour, and the floppy thin pizza spilled over all sides of my large plate. My mom would not stop making fun of how happy I was, but what's better than a huge gluten free pizza?! I would have come back here each night of my stay in Barcelona, but my non gluten-free mom wasn't too thrilled with the Italian food in Barcelona concept. After multiple other less gluten-friendly restaurants (and a few reactions) I really wished I had! Seriously, if you're celiac and in Barcelona, come here. If you're visiting the Sagrada Familia, it's just a short walk away!

I loved it so much, I went back again and I was only here for 5 days. I found this little gem by walking around the corner from where I was staying, hoping to find somewhere decent to eat on my first night in Barcelona after travelling. Stumbled across this place, I figured - can't go wrong with pizza, right? Well, I was VERY right. It's possibly (definitely) the best pizza I've ever had and the second time it was even better. And pizza is my favourite meal. The risotto looks good, the tiramisu tastes pretty great also but just trust me, GET THE PIZZA. They do nearly everything gluten free also, if you need that and some nice vegetarian options too. I dined alone and got a table just fine but bigger groups might need a reservation if it's busy. It's worth it. Decent prices too...!

Absolutely delicious gluten-free Italian food. Great service. The decor and ambience is simple but the food makes up for it.

If I could sneak into the kitchen and steal the recipe for the gluten free pasta and pizza, I would.

The restaurant is located on a relatively quiet neighborhood street making it a super authentic and nice escape from the busy city. There is a cute outdoor seating area with nice string lights. The inside ambiance is a bit bright making it less intimate which can be nice for a more casual dinner or meal with friends. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the hostess who sat us immediately. Our server was so friendly and helpful with our selection of dishes. I also really liked how you could see the chef preparing the pasta upon ordering. We had the pumpkin orange tortellini and the yellow kulurgiones from ogliastra. Both were delicious and very very fresh. The tortellini was very flavorful with a sweet and savory aspect to it.I found the yellow kulurgiones to be a unique dish with the the mint touch. The menu had a broad selection with lots of different pastas and dishes to chose from. Very tasty and authentic Italian food!

Around 10, every table was taken. All pastas were made fresh. You can truly taste the quality here. Not only was this the best food I had during my visit to this city it was also the best Sangria. Full of fruit and spice. Now, I live in LA and getting this quality of food will easily run you around $20-$25 a dish. I believe our entire meal with wine, Sangria, and a Coke for two people was around €35ish. A steal in my opinion. Please make a stop here. The reviews are genuine and the place really is that good! I ordered the pesto Tagliatelle and my friend ordered the butternut squash ravioli. Both to die for. We also got a shot of limoncello to end the meal, yum.

I also ordered the homemade lemonade which was incredible! The staff are friendly and helpful (English speaking if needed) and the atmosphere is cute and spacious! I also really enjoyed the side bar which carried Olive oil, salt & pepper, utensils, & Parmesan - this way you can add as much as you'd like. I definitely recommend this place as I went twice in one week...it's that good!

Order at a counter, and they bring you food to your table. What we ordered: 1. Pinsa Romana with Stracciatella - Translation, a very margherita-esque pizza, but think very fresh and soft mozzarella. The dough is heavier and has a slightly sour taste a la sourdough. First thing we finished and would order again. 2. Aglio y olio + spinach + shrimp. Delicious. Our second favorite and would order again. 3. Cacio y pepe with broccoli added. For my American tastes, this was too heavily white pepper and not black pepper. It was a lot for me to scarf down in one dish and no one else liked it enough to eat this family-style. Would have just doubled up on aglio & olio if I were to visit again, which I would. Overall, a very nice place to sit down and have a casual meal. Would come here again.
