Americans Beware. We were recommended by the Marriott downtown and the reviews were great, We were seated in promptly and everything seemed fine. Our cocktails were served quickly. Order was taken after just a few minutes. They brought us bread immediately, unfortunately, we received the day old bread. Stale. I ordered soup as a starter and my wife ordered the Home made pasta with truffles and I ordered the egg plant. After about 25 minutes I asked the manager on the status of the soup and he scolded me. He snapped at me and asked if I ordered the soup, then it is coming. 15 minutes later the young lady who was a sweetheart, i was able to get her attention as the original order taker or the mgr never came by again. I told her to cancel the soup and just bring the egg plant when the pasta comes out. 5 minutes later and nearly an hour after we first sat down, she comes out with the pasta and the soup. I asked her to take the soup back believing the egg plant was on the way. My wife ended up finishing her pasta and i did have a taste and as expected, it was outstanding. Very good. So if you do get served, you won't be disappointed in the quality, but the three tables around us who came later, one table 30 minutes later, all received their orders before us. I flagged down the young lady again, who offered us and we accepted 2 glasses of prosecco as a mea culpa. I cancelled the egg plant and of course 5 minutes later, they brought the egg plant. I never really received an explanation. We were the only Americans sitting outside, so the deduction is, sorry Americans, you are last. Or he is a Mets fan as I had my Phillies hat on and he made me pay . Bottom line, Pasta was delicious. We have been in Europe for 17 days and hands down was the worst dining experience we had the entire trip, which was outstanding everywhere else. I hate writing reviews like this, as I know most all restaurant owners are extremely hard working and work tireless hours away from their families. This guy though with his attitude and knowing that I inquired and never coming back, was just not polite and he missed an opportunity. I did report the experience to the Marriott and they were so apologetic and offered me courtesy dining for my experience. By that time, i did take them up just a dessert and espresso. You can do better. read more
