Food was excellent. This was my second time there. The waiter was very good and we enjoyed a great meal with great service!!!

Maria was our server. We're from Los Angeles with really no French. Maria was outstanding helping with her English to explain the items on the menu and the specials of the day. She brought the table ice for our drinks without being asked. Olives and bread as well. Some ordered from the daily special. The opener was a mix of fried calamari/shrimp, delicious . Our main dishes were baked eggplant, shrimp with vegetables and risotto with very large shrimp that resembled more like Langostino. Everything was excellent and the risotto and shrimp was presented beautifully. Not only was this the best meal we've yet to have in France it would stand up to any meal in Los Angeles. MARIA introduced us to the authentic Italian chef which was a pleasure. Saddened that we won't be able to enjoy this fabulous food again until we return to Honfluer in the future. Il Parasole offers solid Italian food in Honfleur. Extensive menu, friendly and fast service, and very good food. Large selection on the menu of wines and different choices to suit every palate. Restaurants is two floors, centrally located and is within walking distance from most hotels downtown. We enjoyed their bruschetta, salad and pizza. Service was good...and the kids greatly enjoyed! The reason for the low stars would be the service. At first everything was going well. My French is not the greatest but I do understand and try. Food was decent, it was filling as most Italian food gets. The wine was a bit too young and very strong (our bad judgement). When we finished our meal we asked for the bill, they said ok. We waited. Asked again, still nothing. Third time to ask we hoped for them to come. Still nothing. At this point two options came to mind 1). Go up and ask again, or 2). Walk out since it didn't seem important they wanted to be paid. Finally I go up and ask, the lady says "yes okay" then she goes off and does something else. (Getting frustrated now, what did we do? Is it because we are English?). Finally over 30-45 mins later we get our check and it was over charged. Of course. Instead of fighting it we paid and left. read more

Awesome thin crust pizza in a French town. One size only so was unable to eat every slice. No comment about non pizza items since only had pizza. Good choice for alternative to French cuisine. Great for lunch. Enjoy. read more
