After being told it was 'far away from the city centre' I was surprised to find us there in no more than 10 minutes from Liverpool One - have people forgotten how to walk? We were there to check out the 'No Homers Club' exhibition, to which my attention was drawn via Twitter. Now, anything Simpsons related is bound to get me excited, and the name alone was enough to have me arranging a day out to the 'Pool. Heading into the city anyway for a hen do, it was great to find something else to extend my visit (and have an excuse to take the other half with me for some lunch company!) The exhibition space itself is somewhat hidden, so keep your eyes open for any signage. It hosts a number of events throughout the year, including live music and djs, so there is a fully stocked bar at the front. Lots of people were going for coffee, served in takeout cups, or beer. The interior is large and white, making it perfect for people who want to make their mark, with two sets of toilets available. Regarding the 'No Homers Club' - well, I wanted everything! An eclectic, pop culture experience that would have any Simpsons fan grinning. From the 'draw Milhouse from memory in a minute' activity for an upcoming zine to screen printing, it was a brilliantly curated collection and a great way to spend some time. I'll be keeping my eye on this venue to check out some more events in the future!

Dec 17th 2015 - a busy Thursday night at Constellations. Dave McCabe and the Ramifications were…read moreplaying, and supported by Mark Frith, Lying Bastards and Familiar Looking Strangers. Like all Liverpudlian nights out, this one had a good atmosphere. The creative scene here is stronger than anywhere else I've been mainly because it's the norm. Constellations and similar Baltic region converted warehouses have created a new dimension to the well established basement bar scene on central Liverpool. Within this relatively new venue ceilings are high and decorated with falling diamonds and golden leaves. The smoke from the machine rises. The bars are new and clean, but they haven't lost any sense of authenticity. This place means something, and it means something new. Full of musicians with serious credentials and even better personalities. You can meet at least ten new people without even trying - oh and as to be expected they've got to be some of the most stylish people I've seen in a while. I fitted right in :) I haven't eaten there yet but the photographs alone are making me hungry for more. A far cry from the post war Beatles diet, this new landmark is representing how it feels to be alive now in a scene that's ripe for success for those with talent. As always, much more than just a night out. Inspiring times!

Some of the key programme highlights include live music (such as rock, folk and blues) which are contrasted with great jazz and classical music; with concerts by swing and jazz bands and some exceptionally talented vocal artists. The box office can be found at the Floral Pavilion which is open Monday to Saturday 11am to 6pm. Pacific Road makes a fantastic venue for quality performances.

It's also the home of a huge guitar festival every year which see's professional and aspiring guitarists congregate every year to discuss their passions, play guitar, and forge relationships around this wonderful instrument! They have recently solidified an affiliation with the Wirral Youth Theatre group in order to help aspiring actors and actresses perform in a great performance space and hold workshops in order to progress in their careers as young stars! They have a few big name artists taking to the stage in their performance space each year, with Thea Gilmore being one of the hot acts penned in for later this year! You can hire the venue for weddings and corporate events as they have a number of spaces available, so it's worth ringing them if you need somewhere to meet or party!

It is an exhibition space (at the moment it is host to some restoration photography) a specialist book shop (crammed with architectural, arty hardbacks) and a seminar room which is available to hire out for anything from gigs to meetings and it's all kitted out. The vibe in here is modern and relaxed, it's a clean cut space which would be good to sit and do some research if architecture is your game. Or just to have a mooch round the wooden floored rooms echoing round browsing the current exhibitions.

I say it lies in wait because I've never seen anyone in here and it seems to be poorly located in terms of attracting a market, it also doesn't seem to advertise that much as the first time I heard of it was when I walked past it. It's basically a posh specialist book shop and a seminar room in the heart of the city centre. The seminar room is fully equipped with all the latest audio/visual technology so it's a great venue for businesses to rent and is well worth getting a quote on if you're pitching or trying to impress clients or potential clients!

There is an authentic rural feel here as the winding roads have restricted speeds and there are no street lights. The Well Barn courtyard is easily located off the main street and houses a diverse mix of shops including: a craft shop, a holistic therapy and well being store, Corinthian furniture and a plumbing company. The stableyard itself is often used s an event space for community gatherings such as the recent summer fete. It's a really beautiful area with a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The Well Barn is easily accessed from Liverpool or Southport but retains the peace of the countryside.

They are well known for their bizarre themed nights that they put on either once a month or once every six weeks. These nights are so popular they often sell out within a day and are they hype of the week as they approach. They often have live bands and a great fancy dress theme, and it's a well known fact that people really make a big effort and go all out for these occasions. Other than these nights, the best promoters in the city seem to bring quirky bands from all over the world to play this fairly small venue as it has a great atmosphere that a lot of the bigger venues don't have!

You get a varied mixture of bands playing here, from local legends and newbies all the way up to reknowed international acts. Most recently the Liverpool label Antipop put on their birthday event and it was the best night out in... forever. The old montly Psycho Motel night that was on here in the past is now a part of legend. There is a decent variety of drinks to choose from and while it's not the cheapest, it's not ridiculous either. Perfectly resonable! For you lot who smoke (poor you) there's an outdoor area with seating for you to puff away. It's good for non-smokers too to be honest, if you just want to get some air. The Kazimier, along with Mello Mello, is the musical hub of Liverpool and somewhere you should be spending the majority of your time. Absolutely essential venue that you CANNOT miss out on.

Exhibition Centre Liverpool is the newest building in ACC Liverpool, which is mainly used as an…read moreevent / exhibition hall. It is located near the Echo Arena and Liverpool Wheel on Kings Dock, fairly close to the Liverpool One and City centre of liverpool. This building is quite nice, it is modern and pretty cool, but still can be quite a hard place to be review, without reviewing the event its-self. so please excuse that this review may be a little short, and may talk a lot about "The Allergy and Free From Show 2015" "The Allergy and Free From Show 2015" has always hosted its' Northern leg in Liverpool, since introducing the "North" part of the show, to go alongside the main event in London, and the new Scotland event in Glasgow, the event was good and was a lot better than last year, due to the new location, although it seemed everything was crammed into one small space. This place is pretty modern before going into the event its-self with glass windows. This seems to be one of the better event halls I have visited, even beating Olympia in London. I don't want to give any more than 3 stars yet as I want to see how this place can cope with different events, and for now I feel it would be unfair to give them 4 stars as they might be able to handle on event well, and another event poorly, but for now, I feel 3 stars is the fairer rating.

We visited for TEDxLiverpool during the International Festival for Business. We were greeted by a number of volunteers in the main entrance who were guiding people to different areas - as we'd already registered our names online and printed a name tag, we were able to enter the main space quickly after being scanned in. It's an absolutely huge space, with (seemingly) plenty of flexibility in terms of stands / additional rooms. The TEDx talks were in a smaller lecture space to the side of the main arena but we still had time in the morning and after the event to have a wander round. Stands from the likes of BBC and Visit England sat alongside demonstrations from Arup and Zaha Hadid Architects to display everything the UK has to offer. No surprises here that the Lego Tardis and appearance from BB8 were the most popular items for us... Location wise, it's really easy to walk to from the station, and you can walk through the Baltic Triangle to get back to the centre if you don't want to face the crowds of Liverpool One. A good space for large scale conventions / trade shows and I'm sure it'll only help the tourism sector in the city.

What a lovely hotel! We were going to a concert at the arena next door, so the location was…read moreperfect. It was warm and inviting as soon as we walked in. The staff at the front desk who we spoke with during check in and out were wonderful and friendly. The room was very nice and a great size and even had a kitchen in it! Free breakfast was included and it was a good one. We weren't leaving Liverpool until after check out, but they let us store our bags with them and we were thrilled. Next time I'm in Liverpool I know where I'm staying!
