Comes with delicious lingonberry sauce (which they sell downstairs) and mashed potatoes which are typical boxed mashed but still make the plate. The restaurant is always clean and there is always a staff member cleaning. Today there were two. They had some kind of event so they were very busy. The best thing about the food that I learned today was that if you are an IKEA FAMILY member you get 40% off meals at the restaurant! I was so excited to find out! Can't say I was even remotely full after this meal but thanks, IKEA for thinking of the vegans lol I did get a veggie dog and the cinnamon rolls on the way out of the store, which I was surprised that the fresh baked cinnamon rolls are 'accidentally' vegan! I like how the nutritional information is available for each item and the prices are pretty reasonable but even as a small woman, I needed more to eat. My son was r hungry so I just got some cookies and pop for him. My mom got the Cod dish that comes with your choice of two sides and also said the same thing after eating, that she definitely was not full. The food is fairly healthy so at least there's that. It's saving grace is the coffee is exceptional in my opinion. And their breakfast is decent. On Tuesday morning they had a breakfast special for $0.99. Not sure if they still have it. The food service is filthy. This place has gone from Bad to worse in the past couple of years. The supervisors at the cashiers are extremely rude, disrespectful and inexperienced. I was there with my wife 8 months pregnant and there was no place for her to sit. We needed to print out a simple form for purchase and they send us away telling us that their management does not allow them to do anything for their customers anymore. The products are mainly made in China now. You get way better quality and prices at your local rooms to go and bed bath and beyond. My husband and I shared a smoked salmon plate for an appetizer. It had some shaved veggies and dressing on top which complemented the salmon really well. For less than $5.00, this's was a bargain. I guess everything at IKEA Restaurant is pretty cheap though! All four of us went for Swedish Meatballs. For $7.99 you can get them with a side, a drink, and a soup or salad. The meatballs are good. They do taste a little like the frozen meatballs I buy for my kids at Costco, but the sauce elevates them a bit. For my side I had veggies. Again, they tasted frozen. The rest of my family got either mashed potatoes or mac & cheese, which they liked. The soup of the day was Carrot Ginger. I did not like this soup at all. It tasted like hot puréed carrots without anything else added...not for me. I tasted the cornbread which was soft, sweet, moist, and delicious. There is not a huge variety but there are other cold items offered, as well as other hot meals such as ribs and chicken tenders. IKEA Restaurant is a great place to stop for sustenance if one is shopping at IKEA. I went to Ikea for their 4th of July sale. When we arrived one of the employes by the door hand me a coupon and said that if we spend more than 100 dollars today everybody who was with me would eat for free so it was on! I knew I was gonna spend more than 100 buck regardless lol. The deal was this you go and eat and the cashier will give your a recipe and a coupon with the total amount of your meal and it would deducted from your shopping bill at check out done. I have been here before, and I really like their ribs they are very well cooked and little bit heavy on the bbq sauce, but nothing that could really bother me. I ordered mac n cheese and corn bread, my mom got the same but with fries on the side. My wife and sister got the Swedish meatballs, I guess they are famous for them not a bad deal they come with a dressing on top that takes away that meaty flavor one of the order mash potatoes and the other one mac and cheese with corn bread. I got the overload chocolate cake for dessert and let me tell you something I will go back just for the cake it was pretty good. We also ordered the Tres Leches but it wasn't good at all very dry and tasteless. Basically the way this place operates is kinda like high school cafeteria you make a line pic your good and then walk to the cashier and pay. There are no waitress or waiters, is all serve yourself which allows them to be more economic (at least thats what they claim). I went here for lunch for the first time and was very disappointed. Everyone keeps telling me how their Swedish meatballs are amazing so I decided to finally try them out. They were chewy and tasted like frozen microwaved meatballs. The gravy was bland as well. The mixed vegetables were close to dehydrated. The entire meal made me feel sick afterwards. There's just something special about starting off, splitting up or winding up a four hour shopping venture, with yummy cafeteria style grub for the low low. What that something is for me, is Swedish Meetballs, Mashed potatoes and gravy and (of course) extra Lingon Berry Jam! There's lots of other yummy treats, from salads, fish garlic bread & soups. The Butternut Squash soup is pretty great. Definitely make sure to get a tray holder to push your tray around so you don't have to do the high-school-lunch-walk. For those of you that haven't been, it is set up cafeteria style where you graba tray and walk down the line adding items to your tray from the refrigerated cases or having them serve it to you from the hot bar. The most popular dish here would be the Swedish Meatball Combo. Ikea is in my blood. Perhaps it is because that my mom is Finnish (born and raised) and my father, though born and bred in Utah, came from Swedish parentage. So I sort of have a lock on the whole Scandinavian thing. I also subsisted on Ikea furniture and knicknacks throughout my 20's, and I will admit, still have a bookshelf or cutting board or three from the same origins. Having a Scandinavian mother, I grew up with weird fish paste, herring, interesting cheeses, näkkileipä (that hard crisp rye bread sort of like a large cracker), smoked salmon, fish eggs, shellfish and lots of root vegetables. Oh and lots of black licorice (love the stuff). I spent summers in Finland and Sweden where we were treated to grilled summer sausage served with this mild but spicy mustard I haven't been able to find outside of Europe, Lingonberry and Elderflower punch (sort of like an European version of koolaid), and these delicious cinnamon rolls with the most awesome sugar on top (exactly like the big granules of salt you find on those soft pretzels but they are pearl sugar). Of course during my childhood all I wanted was to have "normal" pb&j in my lunchbox like every other kid, and now all I want to eat is the "weird" stuff my mom raised us on. Thank God for Ikea. While the store itself is useful for a lot of other things I plan my life around food, so I go to this Ikea. Not all Ikeas have a cafe. They actually have a small food shop on the first floor that sells some of their food items (fish paste, frozen meatballs, coffee, crispbread, cookies, smoked salmon, candies) and the also have a cafe on the second floor. The first floor area sells hot dogs, cinnamon rolls and coffee to go. The cafe is literally a cafeteria where you wait in line with a tray to order from a handful of menu items. While they serve ribs and chicken nuggets (?) they also serve a meatball plate with mashed potatoes and a simple side salad. A bonus, their soda machine dishes out lingonberry punch alongside the sprite and coke. I settle in, take in the modern and stark design (the children's section is adjacent to the cafeteria so you see a lot of interesting little things), take a bite of that delicious first meatball with gravy, top it off with a bit of lingonberry jam and I'm 10 years old again. You clear your own tray (simply move it to the dirty tray area) and are on your way. Easy and simple, much like Ikea itself. After waking up from my reverie, I go downstairs and am grateful that I am no longer 10 but I am a 30-something adult with a credit card, stock up on my coffee, fish paste, black licorice, salmon, the aforementioned "Swedish Mustard" and am on my way. They also sell frozen crayfish which I've been tempted to buy but haven't yet... One sad note, they do not sell the "Kalles Kaviar" any longer. This was the fish paste that was really trout roe, great on crackers with cucumber. I guess maybe the palate of South Florida didn't quite like it, but they do sell crab paste in the same sort of tubes, and smoked salmon paste as well. read more

We passed by before beginning our trek through that which is Ikea. I'm a big fan of salmon as well as lasagna so I obviously went with the salmon lasagna. I added on a side of macaroni. After I sat down I dug in. I have to say I was not impressed with the lasagna. Too little salmon, too much green stuff. To me it tasted almost like a vegetarian dish, not to knock those who get down like that but green veggie overload is just not my style!! My first Sunrise Ikea restaurant experience wasn't as good. Maybe it was because it was a weekday night? Half of the food bins were clean but empty. Some food looked like it had been there a while. For the first time ever I ordered the swedish meatball dinner which looked better on the overhead picture than what ended up on my plate. I ordered the extra portion of meatballs (8 or 12 meatball serving sizes are available). It came with mashed potatoes, green beans and cranberry sauce, It was fresh and delicious. The cheesecake was good too. The service was excellent and they seemed to be making some food on the spot... Perhaps I shall return in the future on a weekend and find the place packed...
