Oh, IKEA.. a battlefield of couples and in-laws butting heads, screaming children, and thin-lipped young guys and girls trailing behind their white-knuckled parents. Eventually you, too, will have to take up arms in this war. Before you come just remember to bring a full water bottle, measure twice (maybe even thrice), write down all the things you need, and eat before you shop. Nothing makes me akin to a ticking timebomb like an empty stomach; luckily the food in the cafe here is edible and cheap. And you can get a beer to cool your hot head or raise your spirits!
Also before leaving home, make sure to check if the stuff you want is in stock at -this- location. Taastrup seems to have more stuff but it is less accessible if you go later in the day and further away from the city center. You may talk trash on IKEA but their stuff is affordable and some of it looks pretty cool. And get a free IKEA family membership, you can save a bit of money here and there so why not? I've had stuff delivered and returned some things I didn't need after all and both transactions were painless. We can all come back from this fight alive if we prepare ahead of time and stick to the shopping list! Good luck out there. read more
