Lovin' the Hay House.
It's probably one of the few shops in Copenhagen that has prime spots with beautiful views from the window, and they do need it, for what sells cozy sofa, pillows and throws better than a view over Amagertorv and its stork fountain?
They make you realise how sad your actual living room is compared to theirs and lure you with their products to make your place be as cool as theirs. At least, that's what I feel when I remember that the view from my living room is definitely not as cool as view over the stork fountain.
I feel Hay House is more affordable and down to earth "furniture shop" compared to Bolia or the royalty-posh Illum Bolighus. The "mini market" side of the shop has tons of beautiful knick-knacks (read: things you don't need but you want) and the furniture showroom has beautiful sofas, tables, lamps and other stuff to display that is neatly arranged just like how you would like them to be in your apartment.
Tempting, that is.
I don't always buy stuff from Hay House, but I certainly like to come here now and then just to look around and check out things on discounts. Who knows I might get lucky that that lamp I have been eyeing out might be on sale?
No matter how you put it, this is a beautiful furniture store worth checking, especially if you're looking for a piece of Scandinavian design to bring home with you. read more
