I might be quite late in learning that second hand shop can hold treasures of things and I'm making that up by slowly trying out the many second hand shops in Nørrebro.
This one, however, feels a bit abandoned. Don't get me wrong, I do understand the difference between the so-called vintage / antique where the same stuff might be sold triple the price in a well-arranged shop compared to these kind of "genbrug" shops where everything is just dumped right on place, but there's the nice, clean and organised Røde Kors genbrug on Fælledvej and there's this place.
It's a shame really, but there's no "heart" in it at all as the name suggest. Everything is pretty much jumbled, including the book section that holds the most interest for me. Most of the things are unfortunately out of shape, or outdated so much that it doesn't serve any purpose sitting there but waiting for some "collector" to pick them up. There's section for utensils and kitchen tools on the side, the section for the furniture way on the back and somehow they cram a section of books on the furthest back, right before the stairs leading the basement that hold even more actual junk that second hand (read: salvage-able) things.
That said, I got a relatively a "new" book (10 kr) and could pay with Dankort although the lady behind the cash register seems uninterested. Come to think of it, maybe I'll skip this shop on my future second hand shop prowl next time. read more
