So my sister moves to Brussels and I get to spend 6 months of her first year there helping her adjust to life. And a big part of that was nesting and getting her home situated. It's a little frustrating that a few of the things that we selected weren't in stock and wouldn't be in stock for quite some time. As multicultural as Brussels is, it's really hard to get a staff member that speaks anything but French....soooooo good luck! We ended up (after several visits) getting her some mirrors, a shoe rack, her little kitchen table and chairs, a rug, and a side table for the guest room. So, after a bit of coming back and checking on stock....we got what we were looking for....but it's dreadful when more often than not, what you're looking for won't be in stock. read more

I can appreciate Brussels is a very ephemerous city, it should however be the dream of IKEA. In Anderlecht, it can turn into a nightmare.. Stocks are regularly down and for me, the wort part, the staff hardly speaks anything else other than French... One can argue they know one of the local languages, still a major shortcoming in such an international city (perhaps IKEA can train their staff in English) And be aware, if you're asking for a delivery, you might have to "rent the street" in your comine, and you need to do it at least 5 working days in advance (and pay that as well, around 90€ in my case), so consider other was pf transportation. What can you say about Ikea? Seems whatever one you go into, it's exactly like the others... and that's a good thing!!! Of course anything you could possibly want/need for your house is available here. On this trip we just bought some bedside tables, carpets, photo frames and almost a desk, but it wouldn't fit in the car! The best thing about Ikea has to be the meatballs! The restaurant there is really really good and there is a decent selection of food at good prices. I went for the meatballs for dinner, as always. Overall, a great place to shop - but make sure you're not in a hurry because you cannot get through this store quickly! read more

It is a bit the same everywhere in the world: tons of cheap furniture of mediocre quality. On top the service in Anderlecht is really horrible. Why the "self-service" counters, if they open only half of them and they are supervised by a staffmember anyway. After having fiddled through the self-service, you cannot always be sure to find help when you need it, but there is ALWAYS enough capacity to check if your receipt shows what you really bought. They have money for troubling the clients, but save on service. Very poor service indeed and IKEA is by far not the cheapest anymore! (...and certainly not for the often lousy quality they provide you with) Have a good look around. For me IKEA never again. read more

The food wasn't very good compared to other IKEA establishments and the restaurant itself also didn't have a great look compared to others. How they set up the store makes it more annoying to shop then a pleasurable experience in comparison to the other IKEA's I've been to. Many product actually have the wrong labels, or have the same lable on different variants of the product, this misleads customers to go to the wrong place to pick up their products near the cash register. Employees aren't very helping, they rather refer to their website and if you need anything you have to look it up yourself, that was the message I got after looking for a while for an employee that wanted to speak Dutch or English. When a service from the IKEA doesn't go as wished this establishment suddenly knows nothing about it and it's not their service, and don't count on customer service here since they won't help you, on the phone they're just rude to you. read more
