Ikaika was a pleasure to work with and highly recommend his services to my friends/family or anyone visiting. I booked Ikaika about a hidden proposal in Haena Beach Park a month before proposing in March 2025. I was unsure about location to propose so Ikaika consulted me on a phone call about potential locations and times available. He was very detailed and thorough about pros and cons and tailored his service towards my preferences. Ikaika also offered back up time slots in case other circumstances changed our scheduled shoot. Ikaika was responsive throughout the day of the photoshoot. Proposing is stressful enough and Ikaika made the coordination process seamless. Our photos came out incredible and better than I could have imagined! Ikaika captured the moment perfectly and I am so happy to have these photos to reflect and share for the rest of my life! Post proposal photoshoot went well and Ikaika has a great photography eye to combine the beauty of the scenery and his clients. We took up the full hour and took any photo requests we had. Ikaika delivered 8 sneak peak photos to us through email the day after the proposal. The rest of our photos were sent 2-3 weeks later. read more

Ikaika is an excellent videographer. He's extremely talented and very fun and easy to work with. We really enjoyed communicating and collaborating with him. If you're looking for photography or videography on the North Shore of Kauai, he's the man! He created a beautiful cinematic highlight reel of our elopement ceremony at a private waterfall, and also recorded the ceremony itself for us. We're so happy to have these memories preserved in such an artistic way. read more

We found ikaika on Yelp and chose him because of his photography aesthetic for our maternity photoshoot. PLANNING: His website is so well organized and informative. He clearly has the experience and professional knowledge of the best location shoots on the island (sunset vs sunrise lighting, location specific highlights) and is still willing to answer any questions you have in making your decision where to have your photoshoot. SHOOT: we had an hour long shoot at haena beach (highly recommend), which is only a half hour drive from 1hotel. In our opinion, it's the most versatile and beautiful photoshoot location on the north shore. It's even worth the drive up from south shore if you're staying there. Be mindful of what month/time you're shooting at, and ikaika will recommend what's best for your vision! We didn't have any specific stylistic vision, so ikaika comfortably directed us on our poses! We had no complaints. I'm sure he would be able to work with any stylistic vision, however elaborate! POST SHOOT: as advertised, we received our finished photos within two weeks and they were amazing! We've gotten so many compliments on the photography. Fully worth it! read more

Ikaika was wonderful to work with! My family recently did a reunion in Kauai and I wanted to capture some family photos of the group. He was easy to connect with, very responsive while we planned and provided great suggestions. We were a large group with several little kids, and so the shoot had all the potential to be stressful and it wasn't! Ikaika was so patient with the group, and made it fun for the kids. And he captured some great photos of the family! My mom is so happy with the pictures of her and the grandkids. He truly captured a special time for my family. I highly recommend working with Ikaika, 10/10!!! read more

Ikaika was phenomenal to work with! My family and I went to Kauai to celebrate our dad's 70th birthday, and wanted family photos of our trip together. From our initial contact, Ikaika was very professional and easy to work with via email prior to our session. With a large group of 14, we were impressed that Ikaika made the process a stress-free and enjoyable experience. We loved that he guided us on how to position our group and pose for each shot. He is incredibly talented and his work speaks for itself. We are so grateful to have these beautiful photographs to remember our time on Kauai. I cannot express enough about how much Ikaika played an immense role in my wife, April and I's wedding day 11/06/24. From the moment I met him face-to-face, he was extremely calming, especially for an over-thinker like me, wondering what I seem like as an "outsider" of Hawaii coming to marry on their BEAUTIFUL Tunnels Beach. He said all the things I needed to hear before our first-look, and they were genuine. They weren't just textbook "you're doing great" lines. He was such a gentleman even when I was stressing out about my mom trying to call the shots when he was taking photos haha. I am a big proponent of sharing Love & Kindness, and I could sense a great soul when one is nearby. You will know Ikaika is amazing at his profession, as I noticed when I overheard little comments by him through the wind at the beautiful beach. I could hear him vocalizing how "ah man, that's the shot right there," or "this is perfect." When you notice things like that, you know there is passion behind that hard work. We appreciate Ikaika so much for helping us feel welcome and solidifying in artistic photos, our commitment to one another with his talent, warming vibes, and professional reassurance. Mahalo, Ikaika! With Love, Bry & April Delmendo 11/06/24 read more

We truly couldn't have asked for a better photographer for our elopement. Ikaika brought such a calming energy, it felt like having a trusted friend there. Ikaika was the best photographer and videographer we could have ever asked for in capturing our elopement during our 10 year anniversary in Kauai! He was communicative and patient throughout the entire process and answered all of my questions/emails with kindness. He is an extremely talented artist and truly knows how to capture the incredible beauty of natural environments in his photos. His experience working with different settings and backgrounds on the Island (especially beach & forest) is impressive. He has an active creative mind to create unique memories for each client in the moment. He taught us how to pose and gave great advice/tips, which truly helped capture the love and happiness in our beautiful photos. His attention to detail and creative style are shown in the high-quality editing process. I'm truly impressed with how beautifully everything turned out! I am so grateful we were able to book with Ikaika as a local artist. I highly recommend him for any photography, videography, or digital editing needs on the Island! read more

We were honored to work with Ikaika for our dream destination wedding at the 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay. Our wedding day was perfect in every way and we have such warmth and fond memories from our special day that we will treasure for a lifetime! Ikaika was such a pleasure to work with. The pictures and light were absolutely stunning and everything felt authentic and natural. He made us feel completely at ease! We've looked at our photos over and over again reliving the magic of each moment. It rained quite heavily the morning of our wedding and Ikaika was able to recommend different options for locations than we had initially discussed so as not to get our attire too wet/muddy. Everything came out amazing (and perhaps even more amazing than our initial ideas)! If you're looking for a wedding photographer in Kauai, look no further -- we can't recommend Ikaika enough! Ikaika was honest and easy to talk to via email prior to our event. In person he was a professional, calm, and creative photographer. We knew the tropical weather in Kauai would have sporadic rain but we didn't expect that much on the day of our event. Ikaika took that opportunity to find us great spots away from the rain and got us amazing family photos. When we received our photos we were very pleased with the 6K+ resolution photos with all the poses and location that he suggested. All the photos turned out really well (with the rain) thanks to Ikaika's excellent photography skills. We would highly recommend him and we will be a returning customer! read more

Working with Ikaika was quick and efficient. He knew where and what to shoot. Even took into account the movement of the waves in the background. We hired him to do a family shoot, 13 people with 2 grade school kids and 3 toddlers. Not an easy task. A good note is if you shoot on the north side of the island, there is not much cell service, so communicate before you head out there. read more

We had booked a family trip to celebrate my 60th! It was very important to me to have family photos taken as we had never done so before. We had lined up a photographer who at the very last minute cancelled due to illness. It was a Monday night and we were leaving the island the next morning. My daughter in law jumped on YELP and started dialing! Meanwhile, I had reached out to Uncle Mikey (unclemikeysdriedfruit.com) who had helped us with some other activities during our stay, and let him know we were in trouble! He said that Ikaika had just photographed a family event for them the prior weekend and that he would reach out to him...Wish granted! Prayers answered, Ikaika said YES, that he was available, and would meet us at the pier at sunset...He was just a lovely person! Meant to be! We had so much fun! He captured our family essence beautifully! These photos are my absolute treasure. I can't thank you enough Ikaika! read more

This photographer ruined our wedding day. They committed to providing us with an officiant not only did they not but we could not get a hold of them to confirm the details until the day of and they could not recall any of the details we had spoken of and they had committed to previously. The quality of the photos was extremely poor, we could only use maybe 3 of the final photos. We had one photo we really wanted, one and they never took this photo. We are still heartbroken of how much this photographer ruined our special day honestly. read more

I was looking for a photographer to do my maternity shoot while I was on my babymoon in Kauai with my husband. There were a few well-known "maternity" photographers on the island, but I didn't just want the typical cheesy maternity photos you're used to seeing. I wanted beautiful moments captured with exceptional lighting and image composition that showed off the paradise where we were lucky enough to be visiting. I chose to work with Ikaika for my maternity shoot in Kauai because I was drawn to his photography aesthetic, which is romantic, in the moment, intimate, and he understands good lighting - which is what MAKES or breaks a photo, in my opinion. I was BEYOND thrilled with the end product and so happy we went with Ikaika to capture this very special time in our lives. Ikaika was responsive, easy to work with, super chill (which made me feel very comfortable posing), gives great direction, punctual, and fast in his image delivery. He is also a wonderful value for the quality art you are receiving. I am obsessed with my photos and they truly look magazine worthy. I would not hesitate to work with Ikaika again, and highly recommend him to capture ANY special event in your life! Thank you and mahalo, Ikaika! read more
