Worst IHOP ever. I ordered a simple hash brown and bacon to go. It didn't come. I waited 20 minutes while watching other customers come and leave because of lack of hostess or just go sit themselves. Most of the tables weren't bussed and still had food left on them. The restaurant was not full and had a decent staff. I finally just asked for my money back and they refused. They gave me some of my food finally after I threatened to call the owners. I received no silver ware, ketchup, or napkins. It's was a waste of 30 minutes and the bogo coupon that they gave me was for that location only. Why would I want to eat there every again? read more

I'm giving this place 1 star because I can't go lower than that! I have really tried to like this place. We have been numerous times and only once has the food and service been good. Usually the service is slow, but we weren't in a rush today so we decided to try it again. The food, when they have it, is usually just ok. Today we went for lunch, they didn't have sweet tea, or any meal my husband tried to order (country fried steak or a hamburger). We waited for 20 minutes before anyone even came to take our drink order and then another 15 minutes for the meal order just to be told they didn't have it. My husband placed an order for a hamburger and 5 minutes later they came and said they didn't have that either! Lord people, it's never busy here. How hard is it to keep food in stock? read more

Reaffirmed why I don't eat here. Went to see if things might have improved. Nope. Slow service: 1 Plate at a time about 3 to 4 minutes apart. Of course one plate was the wrong order after being told what we ordered was almost ready. Took over 15 minutes from first plate to last to bring to table. For 3 people. No one really seems to care about their job or getting things done. The only reason this place is still open is due to tourists or don't know any better. Also, for some reason they chose to use ingredients that are different from what is on the menu. Example: Red potatoes on men, but served dried out white potatoes. Walked into an empty restaurant. Stood there for about 5-10 minutes as the employees were outside smoking. Not one person came inside, and as we were walking out they finally decided to actually do their job. Not a good place to come to breakfast, apparently smoking is more important than doing your job. read more

Been coming here 2 years since it opened... Food is usually good, but the service is extremely slow ... Multiple management changes have yet to have any effect. For a long time, no spoons week included in silverware ... At a place that prides itself on coffee! Now, they include SOUP spoons, instead of regular spoons ... ?!?! ... Today I arrived at 5:40pm on a Weds night; 4 tables had customers (Out of 30), and 3 or 4 wait staff were mostly standing around ...It's been 20 mins since I ordered the Chicken Florentine crepes, and the waitress just returned to apologize for the delay saying the kitchen told her they didn't have any prep ...And it came shortly after. This is the worst IHOP I have ever visited. There was no one to greet our group. We waited 10 minutes to be greeted & seated. We placed our drink order & the waitress appeared very inexperienced. We immediately placed our meal order & waited 48 minutes until finally asking for a manager. We were told finally that they only had one cook. This was not a crowded restaurant, no more than 2 patrons at other tables. Service was deplorable..we had no water nor coffee refills. The manager was rude & also reported only one cook with an attitude. We finally left without getting our meal because we had exhausted all the time we had available..Never again! read more

This is probably one of my favorite breakfast places in town. Late night IHop with our waitress Tiffany is a weekend must in walterboro, and I can't stress enough how kind, efficient, and personable she is. Although ihop isn't usually my go-to, it has become my weekend go to for sure. The service makes the difference--thanks Tiffany! read more

Our group of 86, yes 86 called and asked if we could be sat all at once. This store did just that. They had our food out quickly and the service was amazing. Did I mention this group was 6-12th grade. Thank you to IHOP. What a great experience! read more

Stopped in on a Monday evening at 7pm. Only one other table with 4 people there. My husband ordered coffee and myself tea. The coffee was watered down! I ordered chicken noodle soup and a BLT sandwich. The soup was luke warm, no very tasty. The sandwich was ok. My husband ordered Swedish crepes which had a hard crust all around the edges. Upon paying, I was informed the Manager was actually cooking! Think he needs to be a manager and hire a cook, because he can't do it. Would not go back. read more

My family and I stayed in the area last night and decided to stop at IHOP before we got back on the road. Building was clean and front staff greeted us as we walked in. We were immediately sat and the waitress was at our table within 1-2 minutes. Our food arrived about 8-10 minutes after we ordered. I ordered the strawberries and cream crepe combo, including two eggs over medium, hash browns and 2 slices of bacon. What I received was strawberries and banana French toast, 2 eggs over easy, 2 slices of bacon and hash browns. I brought it to the waitresses attention- she assured me they would make another and apologized for writing the wrong thing. 15+ minutes passed, and another waitress asked if everything was okay. I mentioned that my family was finished and I still didn't have my food. She left and immediately came back- said the chef didn't prepare it when told, so the manager is handling it. Our original waitress came out, apologized, gave us our receipt minus the cost of my meal and sent us on our way. So- I didn't get my breakfast. Everyone else's food was delicious though. Suggestion: you may just want to eat what they bring you... ha! Edited to add: there were only 7-8 other tables seated when we came in. They were not busy. read more

Organization and management in this place is the worst. I've eaten in IHOPs all over and this one, by far, the worst. Half empty place, still had to wait to be seated. 20min later surprised hostess stumbles upon us and discovered us without any drinks or a waitress. She took it upon herself to become our waitress. Thank God. The food came one at a time. I've ordered crepe combo and it all came separately, eggs and bacon first, then 10 min later the rest of the order. The crepe was missing ingredients and after I've mentioned it, i got a "sorry" from them. The tables are all dirty, piled with dishes. Bathrooms are gross. Staff just mentally checked out. Not one employee cared or passionate. Management and ownership is to blame for it all. Just a huge over all cluster f*ck! There was an additional surprise, when we thought this IHOP can't get any worst, boom, new lows. Not our first visit but each time we are more and more disappointed. read more

Stopped in here on the way to Florida for a late lunch. Place was completely empty, not one customer, but they had four servers. We were seated quickly, why not, there was no one else here. My wife ordered the turkey meal, I ordered one pancake, one sausage, and one egg (over medium)..... We waited and waited and waited. Finally I had enough and said to someone " are we getting our food soon"? She sauntered into the kitchen, coming back out to let us know the manager/cook was on the phone, she was busy.. Finally my pancake came with my sausage, so where's my egg? After about 5 minutes she came out with 2 eggs on a plate, not over medium, but hard and I mean hard. By now my pancake and sausage were cold. It was then she said the hash browns would be out shortly. Now I lost it. Told her I was not paying for this meal, yes I would pay for my wife's meal and that's all. The manager came out and asked if there was a problem. I told her a breakfast is not a 4 course meal and we are not paying. She told me they weren't busy so she sent the cook home. Seriously, you're running a business, the cook being the most important person,but you send him home. My wife filled in the survey on the bill, sent it into IHOP, got a response from the owner offering us a $25 coupon to return. When we finally got it after a 2nd email , we received a $20 coupon. Stopped in mid-day on a Thursday; not too crowded. The host, Ryan, was also our server and was attentive without being obtrusive. Omelet was great, pancakes were great. This place is like-new clean. We will try to come back on our way home on Sunday. read more

Gets the online order wrong again and again and AGAIN! Make them go through the receipt BEFORE you leave because they are guaranteed to forget something whether the order is large or small. It takes no time to go through a receipt to make sure everything is right. Only place I know that you have to ask for a receipt. read more
