Sometimes you just want something simple and comforting, and they nailed it. The staff was genuinely friendly and checked in enough without hovering. The restaurant was clean, organized, and had that relaxed vibe that makes it easy to just sit and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. We always try to support small businesses and have tried just about every breakfast spot in the Puyallup area. Unfortunately, we found many places to be overpriced, with sub-par service and food that was just "okay." A few months ago, we decided to give IHOP near our home a try, and it has quickly become our new favorite breakfast spot. The restaurant is always clean, the customer service is consistently excellent, and they serve the best hashbrowns and English muffins around. We consider ourselves lucky whenever we get to sit in Alex's section -- he provides outstanding service and always makes us feel welcome. We also appreciate Michael, the young man who refills our water and checks on our table. He's attentive, polite, and very kind. I don't know what their secret is when it comes to preparing their English muffins, but they are absolutely delicious! We highly recommend this location for a great breakfast experience. read more

First time going there. Was about 12:30PM. Went inside not busy. Was seated right away, to the left behind the hostess station. There was a server taking an order from the table to my left . She did not acknowledge us, even though she saw us being seated. She than walked off. I saw her going into the kitchen area and then she came out glanced my way, acted busy looking at her tickets, then she hid behind the wall in the banquet room area. The young man that seated us seated a couple to the right of me, first thing he took their drink orders, came back with them and took their orders. We sat for 10 minutes nobody even asked if we needed anything. We stood up notified the young man we had been there for 10 minutes and nobody checked on us. No water no service nothing. We do not plan on returning to this location. It's a shame that this business is locally owned and ran. read more

I've been here many times and I will keep coming back. This IHOP is close to my house, so it's very convenient. I don't have much negative experience here. There's plenty of parking, which is good especially on weekends. I usually come on weekends and the traffic is not bad. The place is clean and the staff are nice. They always check if everything is okay, and I appreciate that. I like that they serve a full pot of coffee, and it's self-serve. That's very helpful when you want to refill without waiting. The food is good, and my family likes it too. One time, I remember it took a long time to seat us, even though it wasn't busy. Maybe it was just the wrong staff at the wrong time. But overall, I enjoy eating here and I will continue to come. I recommend this IHOP to everyone. It's a good place to relax and eat with family. read more

First ever visit to this nearby IHOP. Food- 1 omelette with bacon, onions and peppers with pancakes. 1 Eggs Benedict with hash browns REVIEW: omelette was just an omelette. Bacon was good, cheese was a little lighter than I'd expect for the price and the peppers and onions were not fresh but frozen. Omelette gets 2.5 stars. Pancakes were fine, how you mess up a pancake? 3 stars Eggs Benedict- eggs were over cooked with solid yolks. Hollandaise had an off putting flavor. English muffins were toasted and as expected. Overall Benedict gets absolutely zero stars. Hash browns were as expected, but nothing special. 2.5 stars. Service was as it should be. Nothing exceptional or tragic. 2.5 Stars Promo sticker on table was dirty and entry way was being swept as we left and was pretty nasty as well at 9 am. Leads to believe place is not cleaned as closed but after opening. 1 star Overall 1 star. $40+ dollars for two substandard meals, two cups of coffee and one soda. Won't be back.....ever! read more

We just went into ihop, there is a customer waiting to pay and the waiter isn't even acknowledging him or my husband and I! The waiter is looking at his computer ordering device but never looks at us. He goes to the back and when he comes out he still doesn't look at us. I guess you don't want our business in your almost empty place nor do you want the money from the customer trying to pay you! If there were negitive stars i would give you a negitive 5! This IHOP is a relatively new location in the Fredrickson area. But after playing in a band for a graduation, it was a relatively long day, and I was starving. I was recommended this IHOP by a fellow band member, and honestly, I'm glad I listened. My server, AJ, recommended the Bourbon Bacon Jam burger with a fried egg on top, and lemme tell ya, this was the best recommendation I've gotten in a WHILE. The bacon jam was rich, the fried egg adding into that richness, and my burger was cooked right on the money. I added on some jalapeños and BBQ to the burger to balance out the richness, it was GREAT! I got a chicken quesadilla as well, fresh off the stove, with some juicy chicken, a great mix of cheese, and some nice crisp veggies. For my dessert, I noticed a chocolate cake on the menu. It looked delicious and decadent, definitely could satisfy my sweet tooth, I requested a scoop of ice cream on the side, and come on, vanilla and chocolate? An ageless, classic combo. AJ, my server, was attentive and quick to bring out my drinks and anything else I might've needed, also checking up regularly on how I'm enjoying the food with a pleasant and cheery demeanor! They need to learn what Cheddar Blend means. In every other IHOP I have gone to I have always order the same omelette, with cheddar blend. And for some reason THIS IHOP ONLY doesn't know what that is and gets my order wrong every time. I have talked to the manager and they said they don't know what that is, I told them to call any other IHOP and ask them, but they still haven't fixed it yet. I normally love IHOP and I liked the fact that this one opened closer to my home, but come on! Think back when you were young, on a road trip and you stop at the first diner you see because there isn't civilization for the next 40 miles. Usually the restaurant is kinda dirty. Food sucks but you have no other choice. That's what this IHOP is like. Felt like I was eating at a truck stop. Besides that one of waitress is always missing. She never really came around. She came once to get our drink order and once to drop the bill of. You may ask. How did I get my food? Well I had to pull another waitress over and she collected our food order and gave us our drinks and food. She complained about our assigned waitress doing this all the time. Everytime I come here it ends up being a 30 minute minimum wait just to even get a drink ordered. This time while my toddler was screaming and climbing on the table so finally after 40 minutes of waiting to take an order I left. I will never be back to this location. We were even sitting in the booth directly across from the entrance to the kitchen and no one could be bothered to help us. Original waitress took our food and drink order and then never came back, we had to ask others who were walking to other tables if they could help us with anything else we needed. After asking for our check, the original waitress came and ask if we ever got the order we were waiting on and then proceeded to have the kitchen make it for us as we were trying to leave, making us wait another (at least) 20 minutes- because for some reason we couldn't just take it off the bill? If I could give it zero stars, I would. When we walked in (early afternoon on a Saturday), we were seated at a table and handed menus. That was the last interaction we had with any staff of that restaurant. Every single server walked by our table, looked right at us, and walked away. After 18 minutes of just sitting there like two idiots, we left. I guarantee nobody noticed. For a new restaurant you'd think they'd have any amount of customer service. It's like they took their staff directly from fast food and don't care about the quality of their restaurant because they believe they'll make it up in volume. Came here for brunch on Easter Day. The parking lot was swamped by when my boyfriend, our son and I got in, there was only a 5-10 minute wait. Our hostess was nice and attentive. Once we got seated, our server was over in about 5-6 minutes to take our order. The food came out relatively fast. Maybe 15-20 minutes after ordering. However, I asked for a T bone steak and eggs and was given a sirloin tip with egg combo. I didn't say anything because it was at least both still steak and eggs. I went in to grab some condiments and looked over the food only to find a hair cooked into the hashbrowns. My server was super nice and had my plate refired and brought to the table within 5 minutes. As I was eating, I couldn't figure out if the steak was supposed to be sweet or not. There was a flying sugar taste, almost like a rub on the steak. I wasn't expecting that. My boyfriend and son had no issues with their food. It was tasty and also came out quickly. The only other thing worth mentioning - my water came with floating gunk in it. So I ordered a coffee instead. It felt really family family inside with little ones and high chairs going through the isles. It was loud but not too noisy where we would need to scream to have a conversation. It was our first time there, and it may be our last. Our server was nice. NEWLY OPENED! I am taking this into consideration as I write this review about my experience at this location. My son and I decided to take advantage of the "Kid's eat free" promotion and this location was very convenient on our route. The parking lot was almost empty (which is not uncommon for any IHOP at dinner time). Upon entry I received glances from three employees, but not acknowledged. Within 2 minutes we were seated. There was one couple seated in the booth behind us, remainder of the restaurant was empty. We were greeted by our server and asked for our beverage choices and meal if ready. We were since we have our go-tos. Over 10 minutes later we reviewed our beverages (Pepsi) and shortly followed by our meals. Our order was accurate and served hot with a good presentation. We were visited by our server one time shortly after receiving our meal checking on our satisfaction. Unfortunately we did not see our server again until she happened to be in the dining room doing another task and I was able to summon her. Our beverages were empty halfway through our meal and wanted a refill, but no servers were around to make the request to. I asked for our bill and it was promptly delivered. Main disappointment from this visit was the lack of interaction from our server. We would have loved to have a refill of our soda as we consumed our meal. I called 4 days before Thanksgiving to make sure they were open on Thanksgiving and they said they'd be open until 4:00 pm. I got a text saying to pick up my order at 3:30 pm show up to the restaurant and there was someone inside and the door said they were closed at 3:00. I called and no answer and door was locked. I called again someone picked up the phone and they said they were closed. Thankfully the grocery store was open otherwise I would've missed out on my Thanksgiving dinner. read more

Worst food I've ever ate in my life going out to a restaurant My eggs was so bad I spit them out in my napkin, we tasted the grill on our crêpes they need to wash their grill. The bacon we asked for crispy was chewy and so greasy I had grease all over my plate. My husband's eggs wasn't even cooked all the way and runny, the only good thing was my soda. There was only one waitress she gave us the regular menu and couldn't even find the Tutti Frutti special anywhere on it so we had to look it up online it was $7 us 3 ordered it the bill came up to $45. When we was paying for it, we asked the waitress about our bill and how it supposed to be seven dollars and then she showed us the other menu after it was too late. We will never come back here ever again, and this was the new one that opened up. 20 minutes after we left I had to pull over and puked cuz it made my stomach sick and upset! Horrible! Husband and I have been here many times. This morning was horrible. After we had been seated, for about one minute, husband asks if I can smell pee. I say "no". He says it is strong. He is smelling all around. He bends down and smells the booth seat. He about pukes. Says it reeks of urine. We moved tables and let the waitress know that the bench smells strongly of urine. She goes and looks with another employee. The older woman says "it's not my problem". The younger gentleman gets towels and the older woman comes with some sort of cleaning spray. She sprays the bench down and walks away. Twenty mins later the younger employee is STILL cleaning up this bench. Today our family learned as a group that for competent meal service and hot food.. we should've chosen McDonald's over IHOP. When the cold brews metallic taste wasn't for us, we just ordered a different drink, no complaints. Then when our food came we received 3 out of 4 meals with only 1 correct and hot.. the other 2 missing items and cold. I'm talking my chicken bowl was so cold that the finely shredded cheese was only melted where it came in contact with the bowl... And the 4th meal came after another 10 minutes. I have to say the waitress did offer to microwave my food but I said I'd just wait for the other half of my meal and hope that was warm at least.
