So, yeah, it's an IHOP, so some tempering of your expectations are in order. However, other than having to wait for a table despite half the restaurant being empty on a late Saturday morning (indicative of being understaffed), the service was friendly and attentive, the food was surprisingly decent (I had the Bourbon Bacon Jam burger, my wife had the Pesto Veggie egg-white omelette, and our son had the French Toast sticks with fruit), and the restaurant cleaner than most diners I've encountered. Take note, though: the sign out front still says 24 hours, but that is decidedly not the case, as they are only open from 6am until 10pm, 7 days a week.

Our waitress was Isabella and she was a delight. She was so personal and thought to take great care of us party of six. Her level of hospitality was out of the roof. I'm going to spend this review time talking about our experience. Today is Easter and IHOP is one of the few places that you don't have to make a reservation and no crowd. Though they were short staffed Isabella made sure we were well taken care of. We enjoyed everything from pancakes, to waffles, hash browns, bacon and sausages and orange juice. I'm doing vegan and didn't think I'd find anything on their menu but I did. Waffles, hash browns and a plant based sausage. I was satisfied.

You can get breakfast foods and more here. I was craving some pancakes and wanted some crepes. I ordered a strawberry cheesecake pancake. It had all the toppings on the side with pieces of cheesecake in the batter. Also got a cinnamon roll crepe and some crepes with fresh fruit. The cinnamon roll crepe had creme inside it and cinnamon drizzle on top with strawberries. It was good, but a little sweet. The plain crepes were ok, a bit plain. I do wish it came with some whipped cream or powdered sugar. The crepes were fine with the fresh strawberries, blueberries and blackberries.

Meh, not a good experience all around. Everything came out cold. Waitress did not check back with me once in 20 minutes. I had to flag her down to get my check. No coffee refill, I guess I'm invisible? Good news is I won't be coming back. I don't expect a 5-star meal at IHOP, but come on man! How about some minimum service standards?

25 minute wait. Place was empty except like 5 groups of people eating. I left. Saturday at noon. Can't imagine this place at breakfast time.

Unfortunately, the entire evening was a complete operational failure from both the kitchen and management. The oysters and mac and cheese were fine, but things went entirely off the rails with our entree. We ordered the filet mignon medium rare; it came out rare close to raw. We sent it back, an understandable kitchen mistake except when it returned, the outside was burnt to a crisp and it was so heavily over salted that it was completely inedible after a single bite. My wife had to spit out her piece. By that point, our appetite was gone, but we gave them another chance and ordered the scallops (which were fine). The service staff was polite, but the real issue is how management handled a two-hour ordeal. It wasn't about the money, it was about the total absence of goodwill, accountability, or basic hospitality. After wasting two hours of our evening dealing with a double-botched entree at high end prices, there was zero effort to make it right no comped drinks and no complimentary gesture. Instead, we found a hidden token "discount" on the ruined steak we couldn't even eat. When I originally posted an honest review of this experience on Google, they had it quietly and immediately deleted rather than addressing the failure. That speaks volumes about how they operate. A true fine dining establishment respects their customers' time, and owns their mistakes instead of scrubbing feedback. We won't be returning.

One of my guests went with medium rare and that was more of what I was expecting with my "medium". The mashed potatoes are made with buttermilk and had small amounts of red peels and chunks of potatoes, both of which I liked a lot! Au jus and creamy horseradish sauce were both perfect. Another in our party had salmon and it looked great. We were celebrating my brother's 60th birthday and the manager brought him a huge banana split, on the house, which was amazing. I had the crème brûlée, which I adored, and another had the chocolate cake. We all enjoyed our dessert selections. My SIL had the espresso martini and said it was the best she'd ever had; absolutely delicious. Very comfortable place with lovely decor and I don't think there's a bad view in the place.

Five Stars -- Great Food, Great Service, and a View That's Hard to Beat!…read more Oswego Grill had us from the moment we opened the door. The hosts greeted us with genuine warmth and respect, and that level of service continued throughout the meal. Our waiter, Carson, was fantastic--helpful, polite, attentive without hovering, and always making sure everything at our table was just right. There's a fine line between attentive service and becoming part of the family. Carson walked it perfectly! Then there's the view of the Columbia River. With the sun reflecting off the waterfront, it was peaceful, calming, and good for the soul. It's hard to be in a bad mood with great food in front of you and the Columbia River as your backdrop. And speaking of the food... My son and daughter-in-law ordered the Prime Rib Sandwich, and let me clarify the word prime rib. We're not talking about a few thin slices of beef hiding somewhere inside a bun. These were serious hunks of tender, mouthwatering prime rib, cooked beautifully. This sandwich apparently believes in truth in advertising! I had the Oswego Burger, perfectly prepared and loaded with avocado, bacon, fresh tomato, lettuce, and onion. My wife chose the Chicken Sandwich and loved the fresh bun, perfectly cooked chicken, and fresh toppings. And everybody benefited from those wonderfully crispy fries. We also ventured into the appetizers--and that turned out to be a very good decision. The Almond-Crusted Brie was a first for me. Beautiful presentation, wonderful combination of flavors, and one of those dishes where the first bite makes you stop talking for a second. Wow. What a treat! Then came the Ahi Tuna Nachos. Simply incredible. They looked almost too beautiful to eat...but fortunately, we got over that quickly. Fresh, flavorful, creative, and absolutely delicious. When you combine excellent service, beautiful ambiance, a peaceful waterfront setting, impressive presentation, and food that delivers on the flavor, you have the recipe for an easy five-star review. Oswego Grill earned every one of them. We'll definitely be back. In fact, I have a feeling Oswego Grill just earned itself a permanent spot on our list whenever we're in Vancouver visiting family. Great view. Great people. Great food. And those Ahi Tuna Nachos? I'm already thinking about the next order.

This is another one of those rare reviews I write where I regret we can't give more than 5-stars! Wilder is truly one of the greatest restaurants in all of the Portland metro. Discovered on a random Saturday morning months ago, we stumbled in for a late brunch... it was a knock-your-socks off moment. First, their Benedict is absolutley delectable! We all know I'm a sucker for a good Benedict but I'll put this one in my top-3 EVER! Absolutely wonderful! Secondly, having returned multiple times for brunch, I can confidently say, you can't choose wrong from their menu! During brunch one morning, we came to the realization that Wilder offers dinner, as well! Sure enough, we were back within the week. First thing we noticed was gluten-free fried chicken... what? Who would have thought?!?! Of course, it was on the list + their Steak Tartare. I'll just say, we couldn't have ordered better. Their chicken is literally, out of this world. Having lived in the southeast of the country twice now, I feel as though I've experienced some pretty darn good fried chicken. However, the Wilder's Fried Chicken was absolutely enchanting, every bite! The Steak Tartare was served beautifully, with a yolk on top... how much better does it get? Ambiance is cozy and romantic. Bright and intimate in the mornings for brunch, dark and moody in the evenings for dinner. It strikes the perfect mood, every visit. We would be remiss not to mention their fabulous staff. Each and every member of their team is a delight. Professional, kind, friendly, and engaging. Nothing but positive interactions, every single time. Drinks are wonderful, bar staff is obviously knowledgable. Great selection of spirits and wine. Food is to die for. Staff is top-notch! Wilder has earned nothing less than a perfect 5-star rating. Truly in our Top 3 favorite restaurants in all of Portland and permanently on our weekly list of places to visit. As it has started to become our Friday "date night" spot, it certainly makes me anxious for the weekends to get here! Go enjoy, you won't regret it! Thank me later!
