I was in the mood to have pancakes so went here for a late lunch. I was seated quickly but had to wait for almost 10 minutes to have my order taken and then another 10 for the food to come out so the service was slow and they were really not that busy as most of the place was empty. I had the pancake combo and requested for Turkey bacon instead or regular bacon and was charged extra for that. The hash browns were a disaster, it was like someone had forcefully thrown together something which was all loose and fallen apart. I had the Cinn-A-Stack pancakes which had too much powdered cinnamon between the pancakes which overpowered the overall taste of the pancakes which i did not enjoy. The pure rating for the food alone would be a solid 2 stars, the extra one is for the friendly waitress. read more

This is one of the larger IHOPs in North/Central Jersey. When they're busy, like they usually are on weekends, they are painfully slow and inept. By they, I mean the wait staff, the cooks and even the host. But when they're not busy, the service is excellent and the food, as it always will be, is delicious!! read more

Hadn't been to an IHOP in years! Fond memories from when I was a kid, making smoke signals with the coffee pot, loads of different syrups to try and pancakes for dinner! Stopped by here just to get some food to earn some points for my airline / dining credit card. It was 9PM on a weeknight. I think I saw just 1 server who was such a nice person. He got me seated, took my order, the food came out quick (and was great!) and he checked on me a couple times through the quick meal. And as I was leaving / thanking him, he said 'see you next time'. My parents decided to have breakfast at this location and the service was horrible.There were two staff members making out in plain sight of the customers. They spent more time making out than actually taking care of the customers. We eventually got up and walked out. I would not recommend this location and suggest you spend your hard earned money somewhere else. read more

I come to this location because itself a lot bigger than the one in Edison. It gets crazy busy sometimes so expect to wait to get seated. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean. IHOP is definitely my go to place for Breakfast! read more

I believe that we had a new waiter or maybe a waiter without confidence in his performance. If he was new, it's okay bc everyone has to start somewhere. I ordered the iced coffee with whipped cream. 20 mins later is came back without whipped cream. Not to mention i purposefully asked the waiter to repeat my drink order 3 times smh. But, its just whipped cream right? No biggie. I ordered the tilapia Florentine which came with tilpaia, spinach in Alfredo sauce, and mashed potatoes with gravy. The meal was a little mushy to me but once i added salt and pepper to the fish and spinach all was well. The decor is part Christmas and part over and done with Christmas. Overall, it was not a bad lunch and i might return a few months from now. read more

IHOP/North Plainfield-8/21/19 I hadn't been to an IHOP in a very long time and was tempted by their new offerings in their current commercial. I chose the location on Route 22 in North Plainfield as I was familiar with this location and was pleased with the service and quality in the past. Not so much this time, however. All the personnel were courteous and professional, however, the problem was the actual food! Waffles and buttermilk chicken tenders was what I ordered. The waffle seemed to be nothing more than a glorified "Eggo" and the chicken tenders were tough and not tasty!!! This, I believe, is not the fault of the personnel at the restaurant but rather somewhere at the corporate level. I believe this was a "prefab" meal...meaning the waffles came out of a box from their freezer and the chicken fingers likely the same. If I am incorrect about "prefab" I offer my apologies for having said so. The meal just wasn't good. Would I go again? Maybe. But this time for their signature pancakes. read more

I hate going to this place on Sunday mornings because there is a line out the door. I guess that means it good... I recently found out they offer delivery... WooHoo!! The food is very good but the management and some of the staff are not well informed on some of the policies...such as free pancakes and 50 off. They never tell you that you have to buy a drink for the discount and the free pancakes. waitress never mentioned any of it. management claimed she was new and never took care of it. However, there was a woman next to us that got 50 OFF and only ordered water...BTY, free pancakes take about 30 minutes to arrive at your table and they will not put the order in until you finish your meal. read more

Our waitress (Tatiana) is always amazing. She is the main reason why we come here. She is pleasant, courteous and goes above and beyond. The food is also very good and if a mistake is made she is quick to get it fixed. She also always asks how we are and if we don't come in with the baby there is hell to pay. Over the past 2 years this IHOP location has gone downhill...extremely. This was my favorite IHOP since I was a child. Tonight 9/26 my fiancé brother in law and myself walked in and stood in the front waiting to be acknowledged for over 5 minutes.. mind you there was nobody else waiting and only 6 tables sat in the restaurant. Finally a waitress walked up and asked if she could help us.. we then we sat and not even greeted by our waitress for drinks. We sat at the table for almost 10 min before we quietly got up and walked out. We went down the the other IHOP on rt 22 in union nj and had great service and a fabulous meal. The food is ok but I swear do people not realize how customer service effects the restaurant. I mean it's your basic fast food but it's slow really slow and the staff is not happy. I know it's not five star quality food but when you lack quality food you should be making up in customer service. They were very slow and messed up the order twice. What ever happened to giving everyone water. We asked twice. My girlfriend's order was way off and had to be returned. We were given dingy straws that looked like they were in our waitress' hot pocket for a year. Overall it was ok food but the service was lacking. read more

What a horrible waste of money. No wonder this place is so deserted. First of all there was nobody to greet me at the host station. After 10 minutes someone comes over and asked me if I was there to pick up my order. Finally I am seated and a server never comes over?? 10 - 15 minutes pass. Great service. I order delivery from them almost every week and have never had a single issue that wasn't solved amazingly. The food no matter what I order is always delish, except maybe the crepes. Not a fan at all or the smell. At least not of the ones I ordered before, I am willing to try one more time though. But other than that, this is a go to place for any time of the day. read more

My last visit to IHOP was on April 9th, 2021. I called in an order for pickup. When I arrived, a lady was in front of me discussing her order (for pickup) with the hostess. Apparently, the order was not received by the kitchen. Or that was her excuse. The hostess walked back to the kitchen, stayed there for a few minutes, came out to speak to the lady in front of me again , then went back to the kitchen. Meanwhile, my food was ready and sitting there. No problem, I was fine with that. Another lady came in behind me and we are all waiting patiently. It's been about 15 minutes now, for me, and a man walks in to pick up his food. I'm standing there and he's standing there and he seems rather impatient. 2 more minutes pass and the hostess returns and finally gives the lady in front of me her food. She then turns to the man who just walked in and asked him if he was picking up an order. Asked him for the name and gave him his order. This is not o.k. And I will not be back. read more

I was here over the weekend and I love it. I been coming to this IHOP for many years. They have a new clean decor of the inside. Looks much better and clean. After a crazy day @ the car dealership across the street, my family and I were starving. We stopped in around 8/9 pm and it was fairly empty. We sat down within a minute of arriving. The host and the waiter was very pleasant. Everyone I saw seem to like their job. Waiter was prompt and professional. Food was delicious, everything was hot and arrived in a timely manner. No complains. Bathroom was spotless. ( Sorry, but this is a major point for me since I am always in the bathroom a long time dealing with 2 kids, 6 yr and 12 months. If you take your eyes off of them for less than 5 seconds they always find something you wish they didn't ) :) Anyway, overall great experience. My husband said the bill seems a little higher than other IHOP's but I felt it was average. read more

Even when the place was very busy and it didn't look like we were going to be able to eat they managed to find us a seat real quick. We also weren't rushed in any way. I'm from outta town and decided to come in for brunch with my fiancé after a weekend celebrating. The hostess bypassed me and seated people ahead of me despite the fact that she saw me waiting for 15 minutes. Finally we were seated and had to wait another 20 minutes to be placed with a server who was evidently overwhelmed. I understand but that was no reason to be snappy with me and snatch the menus from our hands when we were still looking at them. On top of all this the food took another 30 minutes to come and it was lukewarm! I never had this experience at other IHOPs. I'm going to Denny's. read more

The service here is horrible. My 3 friends and 1 walked in an hour and 20 minutes before closing and they said they put away the soup then the manager came out and said they are out. They lied straight to our faces. Then the lady was gonna seat us at a DIRTY table and rolled her eyes when I told her it had crumbs and water stains on the table. The manager is EXTREMELY rude and the cook walked out every 2 seconds to complain. We were seated in a section that had a table just severed. We sat for 5 minutes and 3 more people got sat in the booth behind us. The waitress finally came over and took their drink order.
