Well, I had been going to IHOP since I was a child and watched it go from the number 1 Breakfast place down to a ghost town in some areas. But newsflash! There is a completely new menu with multiple choices of eggs benedict, crêpes, and all the delicious omelettes and fare that was previously on the menu. We had a strawberry shake that was made with fresh fruit and the best shake anywhere in Maryville for sure. We also tried these amazing and delicious crêpes, stuffed with cream cheese, with cinnamon and fruit on top, and eggs, Benedict that would totally surprise you with what was on them. So good! We had a mushroom Swiss omelette with a side of mixed fruit, and all was top quality, very fresh, great assortment of fruit and all delicious. To top it off, our server Cookie was top shelf. She anticipated our needs, brought extra plates, thinking we might want to share, brought extra whipped cream, or anything that we asked for, all very professional, and with a great smile Thank you Cookie. The place has been remodeled, and the booths were new, everything was very clean, and we were surprised and delighted. I understand businesses are working with limited staff, but does that mean that we as customers should get extremely poor service??? I think not!! We as paying customers deserve to get good food and service as that is what we are paying for. We arrived about 1 am. We were seated right away, but about 15 minutes later the waitress took our drink order. Another ten minutes to get our water. Another 20 to receive our food. Then she dropped the check and was assisting other customers, never checking on us. (The food was good, though.) After waiting for her for 20 minutes to return to our table, I went to the register at the front and stood with three other customers. Two of them just placed their money on the counter and walked out. She was very flustered and rang up their cash tickets before even looking up to see me standing there. Not good service at all. The person who seated us initially disappeared and we never saw him again. The waitress was the only person working aside from kitchen staff. She was not bussing the tables, so everyone was sitting beside/behind dirty tables. Not a good idea to have only one person serving late at night, IHOP. read more

I like IHOP and this one let me down. They were clearly over staffed for the amount of diners in the place at 0900. We were seated in the back near one of the POS. There were four or five waitresses congregated there throughout our entire meal. This made the visit unbearable. These women were cackling about days off, tips, wages, picnic tables... Shut up! Do your job! Our food was delicious so huge thanks to the cooks. They are the only ones giving an effort to this place. When the check was dropped at the end of the meal, the waitress disappeared. Ten minutes later she came back and took the bill and my card. Ten minutes later she returned with the receipt and my card. WTH? I was in a hurry to get out of there. I usually eat at the ihop in Kingston Pike in Knoxville but found myself in Maryville really wanting an omelette and pancakes. I was not disappointed. Immediately seated and order taken. I made a quick trip to the ladies room and had only been seated at the table a couple of minutes when my order was placed before me. The kind waitress even had brought a freshly warmed container of syrup. I hadn't even asked for it. Food is great, place is clean and everyone seems nice and in a pleasant mood. Not a good experience at all. I had the chicken and waffles, the waffles were good hard to mess up waffles. But the chicken fingers tasted like microwave chicken. The syrup bottle handle was broken at the button to push open and syrup would needy come out except on my hands. Also wasn't fun to listen to the staff argue over tables. My wife did like her omelette. And to top it all off when I went to pay the bill (every IHOP I've been to before had me pay at the register) I walked to the register to pay there were 2 ladies standing there after about a minute one asked are you paying a bill? I said yes then she said you pay that at your table. So I had to walk all the way back to my table and wait another 5 to 10 minutes for the waitress to come take my money. Stopped by attempting to have "brunch" with the family today. My wife and I thought it was funny when one lady in ihop garb walked out of some bushes in the parking lot surrounded by smoke. I guess that's where the staff takes smoke breaks? Yum. I will not be going back. The food isn't great, certainly not worth the money. I could easily make better at home. And they are constantly out of certain items (like bananas, iced coffee, syrup). Every time I've been there for the past few months they have been out of these items. They tell you that someone forgot to order them for the shipments, but to forget to order stuff for months? My son took me to this IHOP for Father's day. This was by my choice. Normally the food if good, the staff is friendly and the place is clean. That is not the case this time. The only reason I am giving one star is because the service from our waitress Tiffany was excellent. I ordered the 2x2x2 with white toast for my eggs. The eggs were supposed to be over medium and came out the first time with both yoke's broken, under cooked and was just a mess. Tiffany said she didn't think that I would take it like that but wanted to try it anyway??? The second set of eggs were more like over easy, very runny but at least the yokes weren't broken. The toast was so burnt that when I broke it, it looked like little clouds of dust in the air. The sausage and pancakes were o.k. Tiffany the waitress did not charge me for the toast or eggs and seemed real apologetic and also said that all the cooks were new and in training. She said she went and talked to the cooks because there was no management working this day so that was all she could do. Did I mention that the floors were disgustingly dirty? Well they were. I guess the clean up crew was off also. Normally I like this IHOP, but for now I suggest staying away from this particular IHOP until they get there **** together. I wish I had taken some pictures. This place made my fiancé very sick today on Christmas. I had to work all day (I'm a crisis worker) and he was home alone so I sent him $20 on Apple Pay and said go get yourself a meal some place that's open, ya know...so he gets hash browns, crepes and toast. He goes and has to wait 10 minutes past when they say it's ready. He then realizes they didn't give him the sauce that goes with the crepes, but already waited that long so he just left. Checked the food in the car and found it "cold and soggy" so clearly it was sitting back there ready while he waited. He is now lying next to me on his side curled up in pain. I said, "could it have been the IHOP?" "Definitely", he said. He didn't want me to complain, but I feel terrible (not only did I give him the money but he asked if he should do Waffle House or IHOP and I said IHOP's food is better, so I feel double guilty), and this has ruined our Christmas night together. I'll be calling the restaurant tomorrow and requesting a full refund. read more

Worst IHOP ever! Took a few moments before someone noticed our party of 3 to be seated. Then waited over 10 minutes before we walked out. Few patrons there at 1:25 pm but lots of staff. All seemed to be preoccupied with refilling and replacing syrup bottles. Servers would walk by our booth with their syrup bottles completely oblivious to our presence. We've had this problem before. The food is never disappointing, they offer military discounts, and the restaurant is much bigger and cleaner then the one in Knoxville. My suggestion would be to switch to coke products instead of Pepsi and make the juice refillable. And only eat breakfast items here,the rest of the menu is taking a risk. read more

First time I have ever walked out of a restaurant. My husband and I walked in and right away we noticed there were 6 visible tables that were filthy dirty. Only 2 servers seemed to be on duty, and the MOD no where in sight. We stood there for 10 minutes without any acknowledgement! No one said they'd be with in just a second, no one even made eye contact. The final straw was when the male server walked in our direction, then turned to collect his tip off the table in front of us. Still, did not say a word, or even clear off the table.
