Our food was good, the steak tips were a little undercooked but still good. The only issue is the hostess stand was completely failing and the manager was no where to be found. We put our name on the list and was told 15 mins. However it was more like 45 mins, and while we were there we watched a mass exodus of customers waiting leave before being seated. There were plenty of empty booths but apparently 4 parties of 6 people brought the restaurant to a complete standstill, with the kitchen backed up they decided not to seat anyone else. 4 names were on the list before us all party of 2's and all 4 walked out. After us on the list was a party of 5 and another party of 2, they also walked out after waiting 30 mins. A party of 5 left, and then another party of 3. There wasn't a hostess at the front and it appeared as if it wasn't any one persons job but any waitress who walked by would say "not much longer" and keep walking. It ended up being a 2 hour breakfast and I never saw a manager the entire time. read more

This was our first trip to IHOP since the pandemic, and I couldn't wait! I was really excited to go and get my standard order: mushroom omelette, harvest grain pancakes with real butter and real maple syrup, and a large glass of tomato juice. Boy was I disappointed. The new menu doesn't have ANY of those things. No mushroom omelette with creamy mushroom gravy, no harvest grain pancakes at ALL, no real butter or maple syrup, and no tomato juice! We stayed, because we had come. I got a build-your-own omelette with mushrooms, which was overdone, a couple of "protein pancakes, which I did not eat, and a glass of OJ. The whole experience was a bitter defeat. This restaurant will not be on my "go to again" list. The service was very slow, but the server was nice. This Ihop has a consistent smell that will make you take your food home and not eat it. It's amazing how run down this place has gotten considering it used to be packed. I came in last night and ordered tres laches pancakes with extra vanilla. A full stack is 4 pancakes now for $12. Instead of my extra cup of vanilla she just give ma half the caramel and a full vanilla. Like gee thanks and I didn't even get a receipt to be able to review it so I'm leaving my review here. The one thing I can say is it was fast since there was only 1 other car in the parking lot and her kids was running all through the place tracking her down since she was also all over the place. I don't see me going back until there's definitely a overhaul. I was going to Mebane which is cleaner but the staff there act like they could care less. I've had to wait there for almost a hour because their staff don't like answering the phone and will literally cut off the ringer. I guess no more Ihop. They just don't care if they have customers or not anymore. The whole drive to Mebane to wait 45 minutes because they wouldn't answer the phone to take my order is BS! And having to eat at a dirty Ihop is even more BS! You can see the filth in the upholstery and smell it in the whole place. Please bring back the Ihop I used to constantly visit. Clean, lit up, cheerful and great breakfast at great prices back in the day. And top notch customer service was always available! To start, we had to wait almost an hour and a half for our food which is odd considering how much we heard our waitress say she was glad it was a slow day.... Just wait until you hear about our waitress. Waiting a long amount of time is one thing but watching multiple employees just stand around when we can see a group of people waiting in the waiting area for more than 10 min and at least 3 dirty tables that no one bothered to clean, and that's not even the worst part. Our waitress was the most unprofessional person in any industry we have ever dealt with. She was talking a bunch of junk about customers that had just left loud and clearly in front of everyone in the restaurant and just cursing up a storm while doing it. There was an elderly couple that was sitting a couple tables down from us and she started talking about how much she hated "old people" like 10 feet away from them. Worst experience!! Waited nearly 15 minutes to be seated at 3 in the afternoon. Then waited almost an hour for our first set of food to be served, to include appetizers. We ordered the Mozzarella Sticks and they came with the main entrées. One was served cold and the order piping hot. How, I cannot say. The all but 2 orders came out with the Sticks and the food was luke warm at best. We had to wait another 10 minutes for the other two orders which came out hot but the salmon was raw in the middle. Of course this came with gripes from the staff as they were picking at it and talking right behind me. When I paid and left a small tip, one of the wait staff said "I am surprised he even tipped you". Not sure if this was a knock on me or the service there. Never again IHOP. i have been a fan of ihop forever and i recently moved to asheboro and have gone to this ihop a handful of times. it's pretty good, a good place to eat with friends or casual but i came in here around 7:20 and waited a couple minutes to be seated. no big deal. but then the waitress apologized and said she was the only one here. she had to clean all the tables by herself and serve 4 tables at the same time. 11 people in total by herself. that is ridiculous. she was obviously very stressed out but she was still doing her best to help us. she shouldn't have to be here alone. read more

Upon arrival the woman taking payments was not fully trained which is not her fault but she needed assistance with ringing up a coffee. The woman running the hostess stand was extremely rude to other customers and did not seem like she enjoyed her job at all. She was clearly tired and sweaty but she didn't have to show it so openly that she was irritated with a customer using a ihop card or splitting an order and that's just what I observed while picking up a To Go. Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. The restaurant was dirty, the staff was rude and arguing in the kitchen, and they packed us all in so closely it felt like we were eating with the rest of the people there. We didn't get silverware until about five minutes after we'd gotten our food, and we had to get it from a different waitress because ours never once came back to our table once she gave us our food. Midway in our meal, someone came and took the second table of our original table, leaving us with no room at all to eat or put our plates. Not only did this leave us without room, it also meant they put a table of 8 people directly beside us with about 6 inches in between. We had to move our table constantly to let these people out, and it was inconvenience for absolutely everyone. I will never NEVER recommend this place to anyone. And corporate/management/whoever, please don't bother reaching out to "make our experience better". I'm not interested in a gift card or coupon to come back. We were eating an early dinner over the weekend. The floor was very dirty. When they were moping the floor they didn't sweep it first. The booth was nasty. Food all over the booth seats. They weren't busy, it was a slow time around 4:00 PM. The food was over cooked. The waitress was nice, but not trained on how to approach a customer on how to take their payment. She stood over my husband to sign and provide a tip. He asked her do you have to have it right now? , usually they give you a few minutes to sign it and then come back. Here with my granddaughter eating brunch. The wait staff have been very pleasant and attentive to our needs. They are working as a team because I'm not even sure who my waitress is since three different waitresses have been taking order, filling drinks, and just checking on us. Me and my friend went a few days ago. we got there and they weren't busy at all, the waitress took our orders and we were waiting for over an hour, people had walked in after us and had still gotten their food before we did... the waitress never came once to refill our drinks or check on us within the hour we waited... when we finally got our food it was cold and not good. when it was time to pay the waitress took our cards and switched our tickets so I paid for my friends and my friend paid for mine... I told her and she told us she would have to go back and fix it, at that point I was just irritated and ready to leave so I just told her not to worry about it.. I get home and look at my bank account, not only did I get charged for my friends ticket but they also charged me an extra 7 dollars and I have no idea how that could have happened. long Story short, the service is terrible and the food is not good enough for me to ever go back there. at least make sure if you go somewhere you get your moneys worth, here I definitely did not. read more

I don't know if there are any vegetarians in Asheboro, but if so, you should avoid IHOP. They won't make substitutions for meat - according to the server they only substitute "meat for meat or eggs for eggs", whatever that means. Asked multiple times for napkins and silverware, and no salt and pepper on the table. We got pancakes with blueberries for our toddler and instead of the fresh blueberries pictured, we got blueberries in syrup. Everything else is pretty standard IHOP. read more

I've eaten there multiple times with my family. I don't know why there are so many negative reviews. The wait staff is usually very pleasant except for a couple of people. But I won't name names. The food is always delicious. And if there is a problem with the order, it's usually fixed promptly. I've tried so many things on the menu and there isn't much that I didn't like. I especially love their deals with the week day special. We have had bad service there in the past but that's to be expected, nowhere is perfect. Our kids love it and always ask to come to get their funny faces. Probably not the healthiest options but so fun! I just saw how negative the reviews were for this IHOP and had to post a positive response considering it's rare that we get what could be considered bad service. Just remember that the people posting only post when the service is bad so having 5 dissatisfied customers out of thousands and thousands isn't doing too badly. We're regulars and will continue to come back. Just don't come after around 6 pm. Don't know why but it's literally and figuratively night and day the difference in food quality and service. It can be empty and our food will still take 25-30 minutes. We also heard the cook yelling profanities the other night. We will NOT be returning in the evening. I ordered the chicken appetizer along with the 2x2x2 meal, intending to have the eggs, bacon, & chicken as my "dinner" and then the 2 strawberry pancakes as my "dessert." Everything went well with the chicken. My pancakes came out soon after the chicken, without my eggs & bacon. Finished the chicken, still no eggs & bacon. After asking the waitress, she found my very old food sitting on the pass through. She insisted on having it redone. 10...15...20 minutes went by (we were on our phones so had timestamps to check for accuracy). During most of that, the chicken & waffles for the young boy behind me was sitting on the pass, which I could see. My two eggs and 2 strips of bacon finally came out after 25 minutes. You're a breakfast place, why does it take that long to make eggs and bacon?! By that point my "dessert" pancakes were a mess. There were no fresh strawberries likes I've always had at other chain locations, just some syrup.
