Not a ton of food options on the private island, but if you do happen to check yelp here, definitely get the fish and chips! It's not your typical greasy deep fried blop of unidentified fish. It's crispy fried and really fresh red snapper. The menu didn't say, but when you get it you see the red skin of the snapper! Nice with a simple salad on the side and also decent chips. Jerk chicken sandwich is good too. The chicken could have been a bit more moist. But the seasoning was good. The pizza is ok.. It might be frozen pizza baked in an oven, but wasn't expecting that much from it: baked well and was hot and cheesy. Watch out, birds are staring at you and waiting for you to leave or get distracted and eat your leftovers. Isla Palominos is awesome. Even with rainy weather ominously looming, the white sand and blue green warm waters of this private island experience is a must if you stay at El Conquistador. read more

So my wife and I are on vacation staying at the Conquistador Hotel. We were told that they do ferry rides out to a private beach. YES PLEASE! Gorgeous beach. Clean with warm and clear waters. There's a little spot as soon as you get off the ferry called Iguana's Cafe. Service: Extremely friendly service. We were greeted right away with big smiles and warm welcomes. Food: I got the fish and chips. Why get this when you're in Puerto Rico? Well they use fresh red snapper. That seems to be the main fish in this area and I'm all for that. Haven't had red snapper in a while. Loved it. The skin could have been a little more crispy but that wouldn't deter me from devouring it. Tartar was descent. Wife got the jerk chicken sandwich. Chicken was moist. Seasoning was ok. I would've liked a little more kick but my wife thought it was perfect. Got myself a bucket of beer (5 cans of their local beer called Medalla). If you want to drink on a budget I recommend it. It's definitely tastier than Budweiser and the like. Advice: come here. Bring sunscreen and sunglasses. Enjoy a swim and a tan. And have a good time. We arrived at palomino island around 11am and decided to check out this place. It looked really nice until you got close and smelled all the RAID!!!! It was really bad but we let it be because it is an island and water bugs can be everywhere. So we ordered a couple of drinks and they were delicious. They have a drink named after the island and it was great! Around 2pm, we decided it was time for lunch. We went to the cafe and all the seat had dried bird poop. It took us a bit to find a decent table. We sat down and a server came over and gave us menus. Never once said hello or even looked at us. He just dropped the munes off and left. Thats when we decided to take the boat back to el Conquistador abd eat there. I would never reccomend this place. The only reason im giving it 2 stars is because the drink were good. read more

Pretty decent standard eats for a private island. The food is a typical selection of burgers, wraps, salads. They have frozen drinks and pina coladas. The highlight of this place is really the iguanas lounging around in the back. For a tourist spot, prices were actually ok at 12 bucks for a chicken sandwich w fries. me and my boyfriend stayed at el conquistador and it was amazing, First of all the ferry ride to the beach/iguans cafe was beautiful and relaxing and so exclusive you really feel like this is just your private spot to go to. My boyfriend got the fish and chips and SWEET BABY JESUS! it was delicious (of course i had to taste, thats what girlfriends do lol) the fish was nice and moist flaky juicy it was everything. i would go back to fajardo just for the fish and chips because it was just so fresh and to die for. read more

Staying at El Conquistador they pretty much have you by the...well, you know what I'm talking about, but this was a welcome change. Iguana's Cafe is on their private island (Palomino Island). It's basically the only restaurant there - but thankfully the food was great. Everyone recommended the Fish & Chips and with good reason - they were really really good. Normally you're getting some overbreaded/fried devoid of actual fish, save for the shape, brown mass in a cardboard boat with fries that taste the same as the fish. This is not one of those cases. Fresh fish that is barely breaded and I still don't think it was fried and then some crisp fries alongside it. Others mentioned a side salad - no such thing unless you consider shredded iceberg a salad (and you'll find more lettuce on a taco than in this plate). My wife got the Island Salad with Chicken and it was a pretty big portion as well. Kids wanted to do the "frozen drinks" and the outdoor seating with iguanas roaming around was really cool. You really don't have a choice when you're there - but again, thankfully, this one delivers. read more
