Just got back from iFLY Indoor Skydiving in Kansas City and I'm giving it 2 stars Yes, the actual flying part is fun. The instructors are friendly and do their best, and the experience itself is something different. But the way they handle certain things, especially around weight, is honestly pretty uncomfortable. If you're over 260 lbs, you need two handlers in the tunnel, which is fine in theory, but the way it's brought up feels like an afterthought. They tell you while you're signing the waiver, in front of everyone, which can feel awkward and borderline embarrassing. It's technically disclosed, but not in a way that feels respectful or well-communicated ahead of time. On top of that, the customer service afterward has been terrible. We prepaid for three people, one couldn't fly, and we were told we'd get a refund. We've called three times and no one has bothered to call us back. That's not a small oversight, that's just poor follow-through. Also, don't expect this to be quick. It turns into a long, drawn out process with a lot of waiting. Overall, it could have been a great experience, but between the uncomfortable handling of weight requirements and the lack of response on a promised refund, it left a bad taste. read more

Scam- planned a trip out to KC from another state. They over booked my appointment and canceled stating they had " mechanical difficulties ". Little did they know my partner booked under a different name and they never sent a cancel email for the same time! No resolution was give other than have a safe flight back home. Terrible service. My 7 year old niece is in town visiting for the week and was begging me to take her to try indoor skydiving. I really thought she would chicken out, but she had a blast. Her flight instructor was Flynn. He was positive, fun, patient and called her by her name. I had negative interest in joining her, so she flew alone and Flynn made sure she felt confident and comfortable. Everyone at ifly was so kind my niece had the best day. She's still talking about it hours later and telling anyone who will listen, including our waiter at lunch. read more

Unique experience for sure! My instructor was super fun and had mad skills. It was probably more fun to watch them do their tricks than it was to be actually flying yourself. The actual flight time is super short with a regular flight + highlight (2 mins), so just not worth the money in my opinion. read more

First thing I noticied when I entered is that the building on the outside definitely looks bigger than the inside. I guess so that you can see it from the road, I mean it works. After signing multiple paperwork - you come to a backroom where you're given a breakdown of the how's, when's, and why's of things should be done. Then you suit up and take turns going higher and higher. There are lot of instructions and someone else is controlling when you stop and start - and you have to fight the urge to put your feet down. If you like roller coasters and similar, this is for you. You will definitely go through multiple emotions with this event - lol. Kevin was our instruction and he definitely knew his way around the air tunnel. Given the price per minute - it is definitely on the pricer side, but this is definitely something you should do at least once or for a special event. read more

I enjoyed trying out indoor skydiving. It seemed like their team cared a lot about safety as well as having fun and making everyone feel comfortable. The only downside is I paid for a package that had both videos and pictures which was more expensive than just one or the other, but only videos were sent. I asked about photos thinking they may have just forgotten to attach them, but a few days later (after I emailed and then had to call) they told me their photo cameras had been down. That was a bit frustrating that they didn't mention that but still charged me, but I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and asked to be refunded back to the video only price. It's been 5 days with no reply so I assume I'm never seeing a refund. It's unfortunate because it was such a good experience and the team seemed so helpful, but the poor business practices will keep me from recommending this to others. read more

Fun fun fun!! Took a group of 14 year old girls and they had a blast. I would say you must get the high fly if you don't you only go 1/2 way up. The fly high u go to the top of the see through tube but don't be mistaken it's not the whole way up. Hard pass on the virtual it's cool but not worth the money. If you enjoy it definitely get the offer they give after your session it's basically 1/2 off what you initially pay. read more

After signing your life away and dressing up in a fashionable flight suit (provided) you have a short flight school to learn basic stance in air. Then into the a tube you go with a skilled flight instructor who throws you elegantly around the wind tunnel. Watching the flight instructors looked like a flying ballet; they were incredible. The process was quick and easy. Highly suggest a reservation, do not just show up. It is quite pricey $128 for 4 minutes so save your pennies! We paid for two 2 minute flights with a high fly option! The process from start to finish is about an hour. They did offer a return fly for about 50% off and if you return you just might get to learn a trick or two depending on your skill level. My son and niece were the fliers (13 and 14) I just observed. They were smiling the whole time! They shared that the feeling was "exhilarating" and also "nothing you can describe!" This activity is appropriate for almost every age, size, and weight up to 300 lbs. we watched kids as young as 4 and adults in their 60's. Fun for the whole family! read more

My biggest issue is i paid about 390 for 4 individuals. When we got there they talked us into paying an additional $39 for the high flight. They ended up charging us an additional $39 for a high flight for 2 individuals that we did NOT receive. They claimed they looked at the footage and that we received it, but we did not. The sad part is my son WANTED an extra high flight for his birthday and i said no but was charged for it anyway AND HE DID NOT GET THE 2ND HIGH FLIGHT. Other than that the experience was great. The members were attentive and professional. I also agree with the majority of the reviews on here that the price exuberantly exceeds the experience because the flight only lasts for 5 minutes at the most. read more

After checking in, you'll watch an instructional video so you know what to expect & can understand the hand signals in the wind tunnel. Next, you'll suit up with your gear, including helmet & earplugs. Be sure to wear shoes that tie on (tennis shoes work best). You enter the chamber with your group, but will go in the tunnel only with your instructor. Such a great time and fun experience. Went here for our anniversary and it was a blast! We had so much fun! For someone who's nervous about heights but still wants to experience new things this was a memorable experience. We reserved online and filled out the waiver beforehand. When you arrive you check in and they weigh you to make sure you don't exceed their weight limit. The staff were friendly and very informative about everything and assisted with the attire you wear. If you've always wanted to try skydiving, but were too chicken to jump out of a perfectly good airplane, iFly is for you! For a first timer's experience, it might be worth the cost. But for continued visits, I don't think it's worth it, considering you only get a couple minutes in the tube. It's definitely cheaper than real skydiving though. The staff are super friendly and will help you out with anything you'd want to know about safety, aerodynamics, and how to get some serious height. The moment I knew they were building an indoor skydiving place I knew I wanted to try it out. It was such a great experience. The team that works there are all very knowledgeable and kind. This is as close to actual skydiving as I would ever like to get and it was so much fun! And what's even better is that anybody can do it. Young or old! When starting out they don't just toss you in there. One of their staff go in with you to make sure your form is correct, to make sure you aren't running in the walls, and to make sure you have a blast. For what it is, it can be a tad expensive but definitely less so than what it would cost to jump out of a plane and repair any broken bones you get along the way! read more

Cool place. Took my husband for his birthday. The staff were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and they answered any question we had. Our flight time was at 4pm but went back about 45mins early an was done by 415. We went on a weekday evening so it wasn't crowded at all. It's definitely not what I expected. For first time flyers you don't get full experience. There is an instructor that goes into the tunnel with you for safety of course. I thought that you would be able to go the top but no! They charge $10 bucks just to go a little higher than were you start. Boooo! Especially since you're already paying over $100. Other than that it was a neat experience. Keep in mind the wind is extremely strong. It was cold too! Don't open your mouth you might slob all over the tunnel an spit will be all over your face. The flight times are really short. Do NOT try to reserve thru TripAdvisor!! Drove 3 hours for what my daughter has been begging to do since just before the pandemic hit. Pumped to pull in town and surprise her. It all went horribly wrong when we pulled into KC and got a phone call from IFly saying that they got an email about the reservation, but their system didn't recognize the reservation. Of course there was "no way to get us in". So 3 hour trip wasted. 1 - if your system is "not linking right with TripAdvisor"...don't offer the option 2 - if someone obviously from out of town has an issue...be prepared for that possibility with at least one option late in the day 2 - if you have a ticket issue that is obviously your issue, not the travelers, the refund AND a voucher for another seems to be least you can do. As for us - we will be calling directly on the phone for a reservation and triple checking if we come back to KC. read more

Definitely an experience worth checking out. I highly recommend making an appointment ahead of time and visiting during the week. We came on a Sunday afternoon and our appt time was set for 3pm, they were so busy that we didn't go up until 4. I didn't mind the way as there is a gallery surrounding the fly area for visitors to enjoy and view. The instructors were very professional and encouraging towards each participant. They were able to handle classes with students ranging from 5-70 years old, all height and weights were accommodated. The only drawback is how short the sessions are. You purchase the two pack but don't get to go back to back. The first time in the air is to gain a feel for it, the second time you get to go up and down the tube. The instructor doesn't let go of you as you won't have experience this this type of free fall, it's not llenajydiving. read more

My Nephew Had A Blast! I did not care for the upsell, but my 14-year-old nephew had a great time. During a weekend when my parents were visiting from Minnesota, they stayed at the Drury Inn, which is right next to Ifly. I had heard of it before, but had never really checked into it. Being sort of an adventurous fella, my dad thought it would be a good idea to check it out. We walked over to Ifly on a Saturday to see about pricing and what it all involves. We get there, and the lobby is fairly full of people all checking in. They ask us for a reservation number, which of course we didn't have one. They told us that Saturday was booked solid, but if we wanted to give it a go, we could make a reservation for Sunday. My Dad (64) and my daughter (7) signed up for a package that would give them both 4 1 minute flights for approx 120 dollars each. We left, and came back at our reserved time. They got them checked in, and quickly suited up. While the group before them was doing their flight, my daughter and dad watched a training video and listened to the instructor that was going to be in there with them tell them about how you should position yourself, what sort of hand signals he will give while in flight, and just an overview of everything. When it was time for them to go in, they gave them the option of the 4 1 min flights, or 2 2 min flights, they also offered the "high fly" option for an extra $10 -20 per person. They decided since they wouldn't get a chance to do this often, that it was worth the extra scratch to do that option. The flight gets going, and they had a blast. I noticed everyone else in their group had only signed up for the 2 1 min flights, and IMO you get a lot more out of that extra min. It usually takes about 10-15 secs to get you in, and stabilized, and those with only a 1 long flight, they got about 20-30 seconds of flight time before the 10 sec warning counter went off, and they were escorted to the exit door. the 2 min flights seemed to be able to get way more acclimated to the flight and give you some time to enjoy it before it is over. All in all it was a great experience for both my old man and my daughter. I would have went as well, but I was just about to have surgery 2 days later, and didn't want to do anything that would put that in jeopardy. I highly recommend the instructors here, the only real downside is the cost. It is pretty expensive for the amount of time you actually get to experience in the wind tunnel. This place was absolutely terrible. We arrived 15 minutes early to sign waivers and weigh in when were visibly under 260 lbs. This was very time consuming a group of 6 other people walked in the door without making a prior reservation and were dumped in our group that we made reservations for. We were placed in raggedy flyer suits with holes in them and didn't find that we could upgrade our helmet until it saw others wearing them (the option was never given until we asked). We sat in a office for what was supposed to be a first flyers training. It was instead a 4 minutes YouTube video that could have been watched from home. So now we're 30 minutes in. The whole time bland vibes were present. But, we haven't gotten to the worst part yet. We paid $186 to fly with a trainer for 2 minutes per person. Which means we got 4 minutes worth of adventure!? I will never come back and do not recommend this place to anyone looking for a good time. If you want thrill I recommend you do the real thing instead of wasting time in this place that does not respect COVID protocol. They made us take off our masks to fly with our groups of people. This is sickening! And only when we asked for a upgraded helmet that we didn't keep for an additional $10 did we have slight protect from COVID. They ought to be ashamed of themselves. read more

Went for my birthday. The two minutes of flying was really fun. Our instructor, Diego was great. The check in process need dire improvements. It seems like the place was run by buddies who just want to "dive". There wasn't much organization after flight training and before entering the tunnel. After the flight was over we had the chance to view and purchase flight photos and video. The process was not easy to follow, especially since we had a voucher for free media. The return flyer packages were for only one flyer. No family packages were available. If their had been, I would have bought something and taken my son back for the experience. He was super nice, helpful and very informative to make sure our first time flying was amazing!! I would recommend doing the high flight for an extra 10$ per person. Totally worth it. Could not be more disappointed in this facility. I called a few days ago to get all of the information we needed. I asked if we needed to make a reservation and was told that I didn't need to, but just to allow 10-15 to fill out a wavier or fill it out online. I chose to fill out the wavier online. Today, my family shows up several hours before they close, up only for the guy working to tell us that they're pretty busy and that we need to make a reservation for sometime next week.
