I've gotten 3/4 tattoos here (each with a different artist) and am 100% positive that I'll be coming back for more. My most recent tattoo was done with Frank and I am so happy with his work! I came about a month and a half beforehand and we had talked about what I wanted. I really appreciate him being patient with me while I went back and forth on the size, positioning of my art, and color choices. With each artist it seems like they have a specialty. I got a matching tattoo with my 2 daughters (Star Sun Moon) and last minute decided to get a matching tattoo with my sister (Celtic design) on same wrist and Brandon was totally accommodating. It was my daughters' first time and he made it so comfortable for them. We were able to sit in same room to provide support. I totally recommend Brandon. Found this tattoo studio on yelp and I am so glad I did. I knew this tattoo was important to me and meant so much to me that I had to make sure it was done right and exactly how I imagined. I called the studio around 3 pm and greeted kindly by Jason, I asked if they had anything open in the next few days and he asked what kind of tattoo I wanted and placed me on hold told me that the tattoo artist would get back to me as soon as he was done with his current client. I was not even expecting to be called back to get a appt the same day. An hour or so later I received a text from Frank and he was so kind I could tell immediately by his text. He asked me if I was still interested and I told him yes and he said he has time for me to come in at that moment I told him (because I was a little chicken) that if he wanted we can do another day and he told me no I finished early so I can take care of you. THAT was so nice of him. I told him I was on my way. I made it there in 25 minutes. I was then greeted by Justin at the front desk and I told him I was here to see Frank, he immediately asked me if I wanted any water or anything. So kind of him. They were extremely clean and such a well organized space and team. Frank immediately greeted me and I talk alot so me and the guys became besties immediately. There was no waiting at all, I walked in and was serviced. I had no photos of what I wanted to get but I explained to Frank I wanted a heartbeat line to wrap around my wrist with my parents names who passed away and end with a red heart. That is all I said. Frank did not ask for a pic or anything he heard what I wanted and told me ok give me a few I will get it together and we can see what you like. 10-15 minutes passed and he called me over and the freaking tattoo was EVERYTHING I visioned. I was sooooo very pleased at how well he did with just me explaining. He had different size sketches to see which one would fit perfectly around my wrist and the second one was the one we went with. My tattoo was so clean and neat I couldn't of asked for anything better that what Frank did for me. I am so pleased he made my parents memory alive. This place is so clean and so worth coming too. They do amazing tattoos and that is what brought me to them. I am beyond pleased and I would never go anywhere else to get a tattoo. I was extremely nervous coming to them because I had not had a tattoo done in over 10 years so I did not know what to expect. They are so friendly and very professional. I walked in today, no appointment, just stated what I wanted. Got what I wanted, paid a good price (being in LA), left completely happy. Everyone is super cool here. Shout out to Josh. He works the front desk, finds the pics you need for your tattoo, sizes the tattoo up for you. He offered me a bottle of water. Thank God because it was like 90° out today. Oh and he looks like Joseph Gordon-Levitt (lol). Special shout out to Randy. He did all 3 of my tattoos. He's chill & does great work. He makes sure the tattoo is exactly the way you want. About last night: Almost exactly a year after my last session with Frank, I finally got to sit on his chair for my right forearm piece. Frank reworked the sketch to perfection and texted me with the draft a few days before my appointment. We started at 2p and wrapped around 9p. I haven't stopped staring at the piece since getting home; I didn't think I could love my right arm (Lucille) more than I already did, but that's what Frank does -- he performs miracles. Between 2p - 4p, Frank worked on the general outline of the whole piece. For those of you who have never gotten a tattoo and are wondering, "Did it hurt?", the simple truth of it is, YES. It hurts like a mother, no matter what the macho bros tell you. Frank makes no bones about this either. He is relentless about his line work, and he will go over a spot as many times as he needs to to make the perfect mark. You get what you pay for. Around 4p, Frank asked to take a lunch break, to which I casually responded, "Oh, of course. No problem", but was really thinking, "Thank you, jebus." I took the time to step outside for a vape break and considered making a break for it, but sacked up and went back inside. Between 4:20p - 7p, the real pain began. I tried to drowned-out the agony by watching a movie, but, honestly, I couldn't tell you what movie I watched. Knowing me, it probably starred every straight man's man-crush Joseph Gordon Levitt, but hey, who are you to judge. At 7p, Frank graciously allowed a vape break. Between 7:20 - 9:00, Frank managed to keep me from bolting from the seat by starting heady conversations around the following topics: Michael Jackson's curious art collection; Cirque du Soleil on mushrooms; categorically ranking Vegas buffets; Johnny Depp's frivolous financial decisions; what Macaulay Culkin has been up to; and laughing hysterically about video highlights of good-ole UFC fanboy standby, Don Frye. (note: if you don't know of Don Frye, look up Don Frye. You're welcome.) I will never allow another gun to touch my skin. When all is said and done, my body will be body by Frank. Have been wanting a tattoo for a lot time and just hadn't figured out what I wanted to get. Dropped by and spoke to Jason and gave him some ideas of what I thought I was looking at getting. The shop was super clean and everyone there was really nice, made it such a stress free experience. Jason was able to take those ideas and put them together and come up with this awesome tattoo the next morning. I took one look and loved it. Jason explained the whole process to me and answered all my first time tattoo questions. Like I said the shop was so clean and sanitary it took such a relief off my shoulder. It Took a little under 3 hours to complete and the price he gave me was more then fair. Overall this will be the only place I ever go and get ink done. I came in with a relatively simple tattoo on my wrist and an appointment with Frank at 1:00PM. Frank wasn't ready for my appointment, needed reminders about what my tattoo was, and needed time to edit and print the image of the tattoo. Although the tattoo was simple, I wanted it to be exactly how I envisioned it. This was going to my first tattoo. Several things were off about the tattoo Frank edited and printed - the thickness of the lines, the dotted line lengths, and the lines and curves themselves. Frank told me the tattoo would be small and the differences would go unnoticed. He told me it was a simple tattoo and it shouldn't be this difficult. In the end, I felt like he oversimplified my tattoo - to the point that he was unprepared for our appointment. He neglected to acknowledge that I had a very specific idea for my tattoo. Simply imprinting an image that looked similar to it wasn't acceptable. To his credit, Frank came in on his day off for me, consulted with two other tattoo artists about this tattoo and tried to work with me. But his unpreparedness and his oversimplifying of my tattoo were the lasting impressions I had from him. read more

Alma!!!! An actual angel!!! Went in today after texting Alma for a time to come in. The shop itself is inviting, as are the people in it. We immediately got started at looking at sizes/fonts for my two pieces as I had already sent examples of what i wanted. Before long I was in the chair! I did my research and used Numb520 about an hour beforehand on my forearm, but I feel even without that it would have been bearable. Alma was very gentle and really quick! Before long I flipped over to do the above the elbow piece on the back of my arm and that one was not numb at all at this point lol. I have a low pain tolerance- I clam up even when getting blood taken- and even still, Alma's gentleness made it completely bearable. Both of the tattoos came out beautiful, exactly the way I wanted them! Alma I can't thank you enough!! I feel it was almost unfair to pay what I paid for the level of work I received. I have been seriously considering getting inked for some time now. A good amount of my friends have gone to Inkfiend so I knew I was good hands. So calling them today and finding out about a second location I was decidedly hesitant as no one told me of this. However, calling IFA2 and having Kevin answer all my questions and concerns I was calm once again. He also helped me book an appointment today for 3pm. Arriving several minutes before, I was greeted by Isaac and Kevin (should be). Isaac showed me his book with his work and I was impressed. I showed him what I wanted and he said he would find a few designs online and we go from there. Kevin had me fill out the necessary form and about 10 minutes later, Isaac was ready for me. He pulled two designs for me...two hearts of different sizes. I went with the smaller one. He put the template on my wrist and let me see how it would be and placement of it. Afterwords, happy with size and where it would be placed, Isaac began. I was nervous by this point as I was prepared to be in tons of pain but...weirdly I wasn't. My tattoo did not take too long and was soon done. Isaac explained what I needed to do to keep this clean and proper. I had done my own research on the aftercare but still was happy to have him explain what I needed to do. Overall...I'm happy and satisfied. I also think this most likely won't be my last one!
