Gave me what I needed. Place seems run by people who make you feel like your guilty of something. Not really professional

IdentoGO provides fingerprinting services for the Liquor Authority, and I was asked to make an appointment. I chose this location from a selection of five or so based on their Saturday hours and location. Located within Buffalo Special Investigations, the storefront is pleasantly painted blue--I'm guessing as a result of its connection to the next-door purple daycare center. The entrance area is an unassuming, sparse waiting area. I was greeted by a friendly attendant and asked to sign in. Being 20 minutes early for my appointment, I took a seat. Once called in to the equally sparse processing area, a second attendant entered my info into a computer, took my payment, and began the process of capturing my fingerprints. I had an image in mind that my fingers would be pressed into an ink pad and rolled onto a paper card. Sadly, as I should have realized, the industry has replaced the ink pads with small scanners. The scanner had a hard time picking up my prints, which were apparently too light. I wondered if it was that my skin was dry, and in fact, after using a moistening towelette, they did show up. (I wonder if this is the same issue that keeps certain fingers from being able to use my Mac's touch-ID.) Even after the time it took to make several passes at each of my fingertips, and a quick mug shot, I was done in about 15 minutes.

The building is easy to access from the highway. For your nexus appointment, they will require a print out of your booking confirmation in order to enter the building. You also need your passport and second piece of id (i.e. driver's license). Once inside, the waiting room was spacious with a bathroom. I was actually called in early for my appointment. The interview was more informative than questioning on the Canadian side. They also seemed to be adhering to a tight schedule so they offered me a pass to help get me across the border for the second half of the interview. Overall it was an extremely pleasant experience. The border guard was great (been doing the job for 24 years) and I would recommend this location to get your Nexus card.

Lots of parking in front. Once you walk down the sidewalk to the place you're encountered with two…read moredoors. Door #1 is where you first confirm your appointment, sign initial paperwork, get your picture taken, fingerprints scanned, as well as retinas. Then, head outside and follow the yellow line to Door #2 where you wait again in another waiting room to be called for an interview. This place loses a big star for not having private rooms. As we sat in the waiting room we all heard an officer ask one of the applicants about their criminal history and we could hear what he divulged--not cool. Also, they may ask you when was the last time you were in a specific city in the U.S. even though they have all of that information on the screen in front of them--they're testing your honesty! If you're a new applicant, you have to meet with both a U.S. Homeland Security officer and a CBSA (Canadian) officer. Former and existing Nexus cardholders only need to meet with a U.S. officer. Your new Nexus card will be in the mail within 7-10 business days.
