I have been to three Identago locations and been fingerprintrd three times. The equipment is old and the workers are less than skilled. Two of the locations in Manhattan had technicians who watched videos while they took my fingerprints. They would not answer questions and were really rude and dismissive. The third location in Riverhead wasnot as bad but the equipment was old and apparently difficult to get results from. NY State needs to get more vendors who provide this service. I had no choice, I still dont have usable prints and I think there is little to no value with this company. Im not mad at a bad company. I am angry NY State doesn't give me an option to use a different provider. Three out of three were bad experiences. read more

She was so wonderful and did all she could to get this piece of junk called a computer to work but to no avail. I have never seen a company use the most antiquated and broken equipment in my life. I waited over four hours for my appointment and came EARLY. The system needed to be remotely updated and even when it was updated it STILL did not work. Why New York State or ANY state would use this company is beyond me. Again, the poor girl trying to manage the mailbox portion of the business while trying to get the hunk of garbage they use to do finger prints did all she could and really held her composure. Is it federal law that in order to work at one of these places you have to be a rude middle aged woman? Or does the attitude problem come with the job? Either way, I was late thanks to the express train screwing me massively, but within the grace period and the lady refused to see me even after the receptionist told me it would be fine. I then tried to ask the receptionist a totally unrelated question about rescheduling and the finger printing lady came over and started shouting over me "I already told her yaddah yaddah". One of the worst experiences of my life. Claimed they were close and that there was no way I had an appointment. I attached the confirmation that says that I do in fact have an appointment. Within itself, that was an incredibly frustrating experience but then you add on top how insanely rude the woman working there was to me. She refused to even look at my confirmation email that confirmed that I did in fact have an appointment. They need to update their scheduling to reflect the fact that they do close at 6:30 and therefore should not offer appointments past that time. And also they need to work on how they treat other people, especially when they are blatantly in the wrong! Will do everything in my power to avoid ever going back here or giving them my business. Have to use this service to get a job. Have used it before in a different state and it was easy. That was several years ago. Now it is beyond awful. The website would glitch out and say Bad Gateway before I could process payment and finalize appointment. But then I got an email saying I had the appointment and to click the link to pay. But the payment link opened to another Bad Gateway. I tried to call for support, but the menu for states starting with M only loops that menu no matter how many times you call or which M state option you select. The cherry on top is that I have now been charged for 2 appointments. FML and IndentoGo. read more

To start I was a little apprehensive about the service initially being in a hotel lobby. I was told to re enter my social security multiple times. Upon payment time only then, they told me they did not accept cash, which is illegal. They told me to go get a money order all for pre employment to a government job. Technicians sawed red circles on the computer screen and submitted anyway.I called costumer services, and tried to reschedule the appointment, however the representative stated he can search the availability in one zip code only, he cannot look for another location, it's too much work. I paid $50.87 for an Identity History Check that I need quickly for my new job. The results came in and are blank. I've called customer service twice, and Identogo said that yes, they are having technical difficulties. They have no idea when or IF they can fix the problem. The results are only available for five days, and they told me that if they don't figure it out, then I have to start from the beginning and get fingerprinted again. No reimbursement for the commuting expenses to get there, of course. The 39th street office is always down with tech problems, I was on hold with customer service 20 minutes - no answer. I tried walking over to the 32nd ave address, no doorman, no access up, and no direct phone. This is how they treat critical infrastructure applicants, imagine how any regular person is treated. The woman fingerprinting me was absolutely awful. She would mumble directions and explode in anger if you didn't understand. She would answer basic questions with a blank and annoyed, "I don't know." Not someone who takes pride in her job, clearly. I didn't feel comfortable with a person like that touching me and pushing my fingers into the machine. I made an appointment at the identogo office in valley stream and received a text confirmation of my appointment which listed the location and the day and time. When I went to the office I was told by the employee at the location she couldn't help me because my name wasn't on her computer. I showed her my confirmation text as proof of my appointment but once again she conveyed to me it didn't matter and she couldn't help me because of the procedures identogo has in place. she referred me to their customer service number where I waited on hold for approximately 30 minutes until I relented and hung up.This company is completely unprofessional and obviously thinks nothing of wasting that of which we value most, our time. So I needed my fingerprints taken and other locations didn't have appointments available so I was all "it's not like I have a choice let's just do this here." I read reviews that the service was bad, but in my mind I was all "how bad can it be everyone is rude in New York." Oh it was BAD. I went on a Thursday early afternoon. I had to check in outside and wait until I get a text to enter. This part was simple enough. I got a text right around my appointment time. I entered and gave the front desk lady my ID when she asked for it. She did what she had to do on the computer and then mumbled something. It was hard to hear, especially given we were all wearing masks. I said, "Sorry, what?" To which she didn't respond for a solid 10 seconds. She wasn't making any eye contact so I didn't know what was next. Finally, she mumbled for me to go down the hall, take a right, and take a seat. And so I did. There aren't any clear signs so you don't know where to go. It's a long hallway with at least four rooms. I went into the first room, which said "fingerprinting" or something similar on the wall. I also saw in there what looked like a fingerprint machine, some inkpads (maybe), and forms. My genius self concluded that I must be in the right place so I sat down on the only chair available. I patiently waited for maybe 10 minutes or so. Then, my same favorite front desk lady came in. This time, she was making fierce eye contact with me. Slowly, no longer mumbling, she said, "Are you...here for fingerprints?" To which I said, "Yeah." She then scolded, very loudly, and slowly, as if she thought I didn't speak English: "ALL THE WAY DOWN THE HALL to the right." All the while, she maintained fierce eye contact with me. I've met many different versions of rude in my years of living in New York. But this was another level. It was like she wanted to find a reason to be angry. And I guess I, being in the wrong place, was it. I got up and left the room, not even wanting to address it because you have to pick your battles in NYC, and today, walking away was the only way to deal with this. I went all the way down the hall to the right, and to my horror, there was another waiting room!!! There were two people before me, and I could hear their interactions with the technician. He was polite to the first lady and was even able to communicate in Chinese with the second lady, which made her noticeably a lot more comfortable. There is good in the city afterall. When it was my turn, he remained very patient and kind, and we were done in no time. Thank you to the technician for making this trip end on a good note. Pretty non-descript exterior until you look up and noptice the huge sign above it, located in the middle of the block on the north side of the street. When we came there was a lot of construction on the sidewalk leading to it, so if you're going close to the time of the review it may be better to walk along the south side of the street and cross over when you find yourself across from it. I came here with my Mom to get her TSA Precheck, it was quick and easy. I made her appointment online and when we showed up, the lady at the desk alerted me to scan the QR code on the wall to check-in. She was pretty curt, but it's New York City and I wasn't expecting sunshine and rainbows... So, all was well there. We sat down in the waiting room which was pretty crowded with little seats that were too close for my comfort. There was a vending machine, if you were here for awhile and needed a snack you're covered. It made me *sigh* when I saw it, because I immediately thought we were in for a wait. However, much to my surprise they called us back in about 2-3 minutes. The young lady that helped us looked a little stressed, she was not pleasant, but she was also not rude. She was patient explaining to the process to my Mother and when asked to repeat something she did so without hesitation or attitude. She also, answered the questions we had for in regards to the process. It was quick and easy a few questions, scan of your ID, digital fingerprints, photo, and we were on our way! Went here for my tsa pre check appointment and arrived on time. Was asked to scan in outside which I did and got a text saying please wait until you are called in. I stood outside and felt uncomfortable because of all the drug addicts roaming the street. I've lived in New York for 5 years and never seen anything like this. So to be safe I went to the Starbucks on the block and once I received the text message to come in, I went back. Stood at the front desk for 5 minutes when a rep came out and said I was too late. He stated they have closed my case and I will have to reschedule. I explained the timeline to him and he began yelling at me telling me it's too late now and I should've gotten there earlier than my appointment. Extremely rude customer service and I had to ask him to please not yell. It's sad that the government has contracted this place to do tsa prechecks. What a bad representation of our world. read more

Fulton, NY location double books appointments, doesn't have people sign in, and just calls people at random to get printed. This is absolutely unprofessional. Those getting printed are held to a standard to be there before their appointment or close to their appointment time or they will be skipped or rescheduled. The same should be said of the entity in charge of the finger printing. To sit in the waiting area for well over an hour after your scheduled appointment time is ridiculous. It isn't a Dr's office or Emergency room.....Completely unacceptable. read more

Like other reviews mentioned, you have to join a virtual cue by scanning a QR code that's posted on the door. They won't take you if you don't have an appointment, haven't joined the virtual cue, and they haven't called your turn yet. You have to wait outside. It's Midtown and there's always people around, but it's still pretty sketchy. I had a 9:20am appointment. I was called in right at 9:20. I waited a few minutes in the inside waiting room. I was processed quickly. There was a lot of disinfecting of equipment and hand sanitizer was offered when I was done. The whole appointment was 15-20 minutes. The employees seemed pleasant. Again, I was there early in the morning so I don't expect anyone to be too stressed yet. I think the key is making sure you have your docs and payment ready. Get there early enough to join the virtual cue. But don't wander away too far because I don't know the grace period. read more

Came here for my TSA Pre-Check fingerprinting. Every place on the TSA site has TERRIBLE reviews. So I picked the place closest to where I'd be coming from. It was totally fine for me. You use your phone to check-in and wait outside until you get a text telling you to enter. Cool, I like COVID safety precautions. My appt was at 4 and I was out of there by 4:15. The woman who did my prints was nice, cleaned everything before I touched it, and that was that. read more

Wow. Went to this location today at 3:30PM for a scheduled appointment. The young woman who was at the front desk by herself was so incredibly rude I was shocked. She didn't look up, say hello. As I approached the front desk she barked that I needed to show ID, and asked what form of payment I was going to use. Then told me to go down the hall to the right to wait to be called. No eye contact, no remote sense of professionalism, couldn't be bothered to look up for more than a few seconds. It was pretty awful. The individual who was doing the fingerprinting was professional and personable enough. He was also efficient. As for scanning a QR code outside to be checked in. When I attempted to scan it, it didn't work and I had to manually enter the check in website into my phone, which wasn't a big deal. I waited outside for about 10-15min to be called in. Given we are in the middle of a pandemic, I was fine with waiting outdoors. Like others have noted, the location is near Penn Station and it can feel sketchy. But inside isn't much better. It felt like a bail bonds shop. Likely because of the rude, disgruntled millennial receptionist, the broke down appearance of the place, and that it didn't feel particularly clean in there. It was really warm back where the fingerprinting was being done and it didn't seem like there was any circulation. All the hand sanitizer dispensers had "out of order" signs on them directing you to the one place to get hand sanitizer, which was at the front desk. I was expecting a different experience overall. I'm surprised that this operation is who the government and other agencies turn to for something like verifying identity. Maybe outside of NYC Identogo is different, but at the 35th street location, the whole thing was ghetto. read more

I came here to satisfy the appointment requirement for TSA pre-check. You basically have to come in and get fingerprinted, show your passport, and pay the fee. They have a lot of safety precautions in place due to the pandemic, and I felt everything was extra clean and safe. The woman cleaned the fingerprinting machine and the pen I had to use to sign a tablet with alcohol before I used it, and they were barriers up to separate me from the people who worked there. You scan a code when you arrive to wait outside and get on a waiting list. Everything was very organized and fast. I made an appointment before I came on the TSA site and it was pretty much on time. read more
