They barely covered the container let alone the casket. I tipped the limo driver in advance as per her instructions and give her the money but he ended up asking for an additional tip in front of your family. She didn't offer the additional money back. Of course the driver denied it. The worst was desecrating my father's body. She used a person unfamiliar with working with clients of color. She tried to light me into thinking it was the church lighting. Black people know what we look like in church with makeup! We ended closing the coffin early because he looks so unrecognizable. She's used person of European descent who was older, he did not provide a haircut and gave his mustache a 70s cowboy look even though we provided a picture. Sylvia had a picture of my dad post cosmetics to "prove" the quality. I of course declined. Who wants to see their father with skin glue on his lips and eyelids. Blotchy make up. No caps underneath the eyelids so he appeared to be squinting. It was a horrible experience. She states the funeral home works with a Haitian community, but that was obviously wrong . As a healthcare provider I am aware that the deceased don't resemble themselves but family and friends didn't know who that was lying in state. This is not my first funeral but this was by far the worst. She will make all sorts of excuses and offer no apology. The experience made me lean towards cremation, no viewing,no funeral home for my own final affairs.

A close family friend recently passed away and McLaughlin & sons handled the transport to St Patrick's church and also to St Charles Cemetery ( there was no wake) The gentleman who served as Pall Bearers were just wonderful in every aspect. They took part in the Mass at both locations, and were also very gracious, kind, respectful, professional and, yes, personable. The staff at this funeral home really were helpful to my friends family during a very stressful time. So i felt the need to show a little Yelp recognition to a long time running Brooklyn establishment.

We first heard about De Riso Funeral Home from friends that had used their services many years before we decided to ask De Riso to help us with the burial of our father in 2023. We were highly impressed with their dedication and their focus on making such a grieving moment a manageable and dignified experience. They were meticulous with the myriads of details required in this process, and meticulous and artistic in the preparation of our father's remains. They were flexible and very reasonable with the cost of the arrangements while providing the highest values. Almost two years later, our mother who was in her 90's passed away and although we still resided far away in a different borough, we decided to use De Riso again. The present team, Vanessa, Michelle, and the rest of the staff stressed the same focus and unwavering dedication to what is of importance to a grieving family. This culture of caring and attention to a grieving family's burial needs with such enthusiasm, dedication, and dignity is not something that an organization learns overnight. I can easily state that this is part of a tradition. The industry needs more specialized services like De Riso Funeral Home. They have proven to our friends and family that they possess the understanding, and are consummate professionals in this field.

An Exceptional Experience During One of Life's Most Difficult Moments…read more There truly are not enough stars or words to express my gratitude for Cherubini Funeral Home and the extraordinary care my family and I received during the passing of my grandmother. This was the first time in my life that I had been responsible for navigating final arrangements for someone I loved, and I entered this process grieving, overwhelmed, and unsure of what to expect. From the very beginning, Ruth, Josie, and the entire Cherubini family made what could have been an incredibly difficult and intimidating experience feel manageable, dignified, and deeply compassionate. Their attentiveness was remarkable. Their patience was unwavering. Their compassion was genuine. I never felt like another client, another family, or another transaction. I felt cared for. I felt heard. I felt protected. And most importantly, I felt like family. There were moments throughout this process when emotions and circumstances became difficult, and Ruth and Josie handled everything with such professionalism, grace, sensitivity, and understanding. They helped ease burdens that they probably never realized I was carrying. They answered my questions, guided me through unfamiliar territory, accommodated my needs, and continually reassured me that my grandmother would be treated with the dignity and respect she deserved. What touched me most was that they didn't know me from a can of paint when I walked through their doors. They had no obligation to care about me beyond providing a service...but they did. And you cannot manufacture that kind of compassion. It comes from the heart. Cherubini Funeral Home is family-owned, and after experiencing their care firsthand, I understand exactly what that means. The warmth, humanity, and sense of family are woven into the way they serve people. During a time when I desperately needed gentleness, they gave it freely. Choosing a funeral home for someone you love is an incredibly personal decision. Looking back, I am truly honored and grateful that Cherubini Funeral Home was placed in my path and entrusted with my grandmother's final arrangements. I could not have chosen better. To Ruth and Josie, thank you. Thank you for your kindness. Thank you for your patience. Thank you for your compassion. Thank you for your professionalism. Thank you for answering every question, calming concerns, and simply being there. And thank you for treating both my grandmother and me with dignity during a chapter of my life I will never forget. People often wait until someone is gone to give them their flowers. I want to give Cherubini Funeral Home, Ruth, Josie, and the entire family their flowers now. The work you do matters. The way you do it matters even more. You helped carry me through one of the hardest experiences of my life, and I will forever remember how you made me feel during a time when I needed compassion the most. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. I wholeheartedly and without hesitation recommend Cherubini Funeral Home to any family looking for compassionate, professional, respectful, and genuinely caring people to entrust with their loved one. Five stars simply aren't enough. Abundant Blessings Alethea Jones Andrews Granddaughter of Jonnie Jones

They have provided high quality stone and their artist was able to match the drawing the portrait of our loved one on that stone.
