Portage Motor Sales - This car dealership lacks morality to the fullest!

Warning! Warning! Warning! Share! Share! Share!…read more Portage Motor Sales Inc on Shaver Rd. in Portage Michigan sells junk, and surely doesn't put the customer first! Friday evening I purchased a 2011 Jeep Liberty w/less than 86,300 miles on the odometer. Saturday, less than 24 hours after purchase, the transmission completely went out! Side of the road, wont move, OUT! When I contacted them to tell them I was having Robs Tire and Auto Care LLC tow the car back to them, please have my 10,000 dollars cash ready for refund....they told me the paperwork was done, and it was no longer their problem! I understand the "As is" when you sign, but to offer absolutley NOTHING?! After speaking with several other dealerships, one being Seelye Wright Paw Paw, all were baffled at their unwillingness to even attempt to make the situation right. Truly disgusting what this world is. I personally would not be able to sleep with myself knowing I took such advantage of another person. Customer satisfaction is CLEARLY the least of their concern, along with a complete LACK of morality. I am not writing this post for sympathy or comments, but simply for awareness to others. If my experience saves even one person from the stress, anxiety, financial burden, ANYTHING that comes along when purchasing a car from Portage Motor Sales Inc, my post was successful! I purchased a Jeep Wagoneer from this MotorCarsOnline location on December 8, and the situation has…read morenow been ongoing for nearly three months without being fully resolved. Shortly after leaving the dealership and beginning the drive home, the vehicle started displaying electrical warning lights and sensor alerts. The vehicle was also leaking oil due to a loose oil filter that had not been properly tightened. When I contacted the dealership about the warning lights, I was told in writing that they "knew what the issue was" and that they had already spoken with their service department about it. Despite that, the vehicle still required diagnostic work at a Jeep dealership to address the problem. There were also issues regarding the spare key. I was told in writing that the key would go out in that day's mail, but that never actually happened. After several weeks of follow-up it became clear the key had not been mailed. During the process of trying to resolve the missing key issue, a staff member even asked whether I would be willing to sign an NDA before they sent payment for the replacement key, which was surprising given the situation. Another major issue has been the warranty paperwork. The warranty was supposed to reflect commercial use with unlimited mileage and a $100 deductible, since the vehicle was purchased in my company's name and is used for work. However, the warranty was processed incorrectly and has required additional time and effort to correct. I have made multiple attempts to resolve these issues directly with the dealership, including speaking with the general manager, Mark, who informed me that the matter had been placed on Simone to handle. Despite that, I still have not received direct communication from Simone to finalize the remaining warranty correction. At this point, I am simply asking for the vehicle and warranty to reflect the terms originally agreed upon at purchase and for the remaining issues to be resolved. I hope the dealership will reach out so this situation can be resolved before I need to escalate the matter further.

Buyers beware!!! We recently picked up a used Jeep Wrangler from George over at Motorcars of…read moreKalamazoo. First of all, we had to wait almost 2 weeks in order to get the vehicle because George said that it was getting detailed and inspected by their team. He told me that during the inspection their team found some issues with the brakes and steering which took several more days to get fixed. We ended up buying the vehicle and once we drove it home, that's when all of the issues began of course. Hitting a small bump caused the vehicle to pull tremendously. The ABS light turned on and the ABS started to engage while driving which is very unsafe. We live 90 minutes away and so I didn't want to drive it back to the dealership to have them look at it again for god knows how long, so I brought it into my trusted mechanic to have them take a look. They found that the vehicle had a broken tie rod in the front and another one that was extremely loose. The brakes in the rear were seized. The ABS sensors in the rear were not working and the rear axle had major damage and needed to be fully replaced. What was crazy is that all of the issues that were found were things that his team was supposedly working on for almost 2 weeks... I had my mechanic start fixing the issues and texted George to let him know about the damage that was found. He apologized and asked that I send him the bill afterwards so that they could help me out. I sent him the bill and they responded by saying that they aren't willing to do anything. Keep in mind this all happened within the first few days of owning the vehicle. So over $3,000 later, our vehicle is not road worthy. I would strongly encourage you to take your business elsewhere. These guys are shady and dishonest. George, you should be ashamed of yourself!

I started out with emails and phone calls and was put in touch with a sales person that would be the best fit. It seemed fine at first but then my questions and calls started to seem like I was irritating the sales person. She seemed bored and just wanted to sell the car not do any work for me the customer. The car finally arrived and I went to pick it up. Granted this dealership was over a hour and a half away from my home. I was super excited to be buying a brand new car. When I arrived at the dealership. I had to go seek out the sales person. She seemed less than excited. The car was not detailed very well. There were scratches and dirty marks on the inside and out. The interior color was not what I chose. The sales person seemed like I should just accept everything without being upset. It was a very bland transaction. It took a lot of doing but we ended up figuring things out and I took the car. I love the car but would NOT go back to this dealership for anything. They need to work on customer service and care. After I drove it off the lot it was crickets from the sales person! You're welcome for the commission! Think twice before doing business at Metro Toyota!
