I would definitely recommend Icon Building Group. My experience with Sean Burke was excellent and I was very impressed with how knowledgeable he was in all aspects of our unique project. I had a contract to purchase some lake property. There was an existing structure on the lot which we were going to tear down to build our home. Due to the lot being on the Lake Michigan, there were added complexities and issues we needed to contend with. Sean worked with the WDNR and the Village to determine the lot restrictions, setback issues in addition to the erosion protection requirements to build a new house. These were unusual issues most people don't need to contend with. Needless to say, Sean uncovered some very costly items that we would have needed to expend in order to build our dream lake house. As a result, we walked away from the purchase of the property. I am grateful Sean uncovered these costly issues. Not only was Sean responsive and knowledgeable, he was upfront about costs and was honest in his feedback about some of the ideas I had about had our project. We did a main floor renovation with Icon Building Group which included a full kitchen remodel. The whole experience from initial consultation to final completion of the project was a positive experience. The designers we worked with listened carefully to our needs and provided options so we were fully satisfied. They were open to our ideas about materials and items we wanted to include and also made suggestions to us to make sure everything was cohesive. The project manager was very hands on, checked in on the project on a daily basis, and was an excellent communicator. He was very accessible and responded quickly to our calls, texts, and emails. In addition, he kept the project on schedule and was a wonderful intermediary between us and the individual contractors. ICON insulated by windows. The personnel involved were professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. They used plastic to shield my furniture. They put paper shades on the windows so I did not have to vacate my apartment. They cleaned up every night; took away materials and vacuumed. They were very clean, as they worked.
