Which is why I am here: to yell my praises from digital mountain tops! I was (very generously) gifted an early Christmas present from my mom of a full day/organizing session with M2O... AND IT WAS THE BEST GIFT I EVER RECEIVED! It is truly the gift that keeps on giving. **Hint hint, people- Christmas is less than 3 weeks away, if you are struggling for ideas. ;-) Schae and Britney were spectacular! They rolled into my place like two boss ladies ready to get down to business (but not in a scary way lol)! They put on a fun playlist and took charge, which is what I like and needed. They let me help (obviously not required, but desired on my part to learn) and taught me helpful tips and tricks along the way to maintain the organization. Best of all, they knew how to prioritize my projects in the order that made most sense, and maximized efficiency and my time with them. Not a minute wasted and no stone (aka leftover crap I didn't need anymore) left unturned! AND, like, how helpful and convenient it is that they haul away as many donations for you as they can when they leave?! At the end of the day (literally), I had the best nights sleep that I'd had in years, knowing that there was (finally!) a place for everything and everything in its place. Not only did M2O grant me peace of mind, they motivated me to keep going and see what I can accomplish on my own with what I learned from them. And the productivity levels on all the DIY projects I've set aside over the years are through the roof! My home is, now, finally the way I want and need it to be- it is first and foremost, my sanctuary. Thanks to M2O! But don't worry, I would never claim to be a 'Master Organizer' like them though- there are still some projects that seem just too overwhelming to undertake myself...like where do I even start?! After I moved house, I had so many rent-a-crates to unpack and return very quickly. I felt overwhelmed and couldn't move two feet without hitting a box, and unpacking by myself was too slow. I contacted Terri again. Terri couldn't come out to personally help me within my limited window of time, but she has fantastic team members. Kammy came to help me, stayed for just under five hours, and we unpacked every rent-a-crate plus all of the cardboard boxes! There is a little left to do in order to make my new place feel like home, but Kammy's help means that 95% of the work is done. I am so pleased with The Chicago Organizer. I've hired organizers in the past, but the majority of them require you to do the organizing with them...and if I had time to organize I won't need an organizer! They also leave my house in perfect condition and then a month later I'm back to where I started. A few months ago I had the genius idea (if I do say so myself) that I'd hire a weekly organizer to slowly get my house in order and then help me maintain it. I did a search on Yelp and beyond and discovered that there are many crazy people in this world who actually like to organize. I'd personally rather get a root canal. After chatting and even meeting with a few organizers I ended up going with The Organized Mama. I liked her personality (totally someone I'd be friends with), she didn't judge me as I took her thru my unorganized house and her hourly rate was inexpensive. Since then she's raised her hourly rate based on demand, but was cool enough to honor her original rate for myself and her other clients. Every Tuesday morning she enters my house and tackles a new room. Some rooms (like the kitchen) take longer than a week, but the wait is well worth it. So far she's worked her magic on my mudroom, kitchen, my daughter's hair accessory area (no joke- the girl has a lot of hair...and bows) and part of my office. She comes for a few hours and then bills me for the time she spent at my house + anything she buys (typically from the Container Store) to keep me organized. I only wish she could stay longer, but understand she has little kids of her own to get home to so will take any time she has. If you happen to be one of those crazy people who like organizing your own you'll absolutely love her blog. The tips and pictures she shares (almost) makes me want to start organizing my house myself, but then I know I can't do half as good of a job as Jessica.

She was able to maximize the space while making it functionally work perfectly with our lifestyle. She was incredibly patient (I got very indecisive with the color towards the end). I appreciate how transparent the pricing is. They sit there and build every detail of the closet with you. The virtual look book and in person studio were really helpful for seeing all the various accessories and finishes. I was especially impressed with the install. The installer coordinator was really helpful in terms of telling us what to expect and how to make the day run as smoothly as possible. It seems like they have a bunch of contractors come together the day of. They do a great job executing the plans and I think a large part of that is how the designer communicates all the details in the final plan. The cabinets themselves are super solid and I've had no issues with the materials. Our toy closet shelves have this dark blue finish and we have had no chipping. Anyways, I can't recommend them enough. It's pricey but definitely worth it.

The pain started right after the installation.. a long story short, it had many installation issues and damaged my wall and trim. I called the office no one ever picked up the phone or replied my voice mail during the office hour. I called the corporate office, sent many emails and texts.. after waiting for another month, a installation manager came out and fixed the issues. Today, another team is supposed to come out and fix the wall, no one showed up at the promised time, no call/texts for delay, no one is picking up the phone again... this is one of the worst experience I ever had with any kind of contractors. I haven't been able to use my closet for all this time and getting stressed out... I chose the closet because of the brand, but wow.. This is too much hassle for me. Chasing people to fix the problem they caused and waiting with no proper communication... this is not professional. Ugh!!!!
