"Types of Accreditation…read more Schools can receive accreditation from either national or regional accreditors. Nationally accredited schools are mostly for-profit. For example, they could offer vocational or technical programs. Most regionally accredited schools are non-profit, with academics as the primary focus. If you decide to attend a nationally accredited school, remember this: In some cases, regionally accredited schools will not accept transfer credits from a nationally accredited school. This is because of academic standards and differing courses of study." "If you want to attend a professional or specialized college, choosing an accredited program is very important for licensing purposes. Attending an unaccredited college could prevent you from taking the necessary steps for professional US licensure. In some fields, you need a license before you can legally practice your profession in the US. Choosing an accredited school can be crucial! Almost every profession has a group that is a recognized accreditor for professional or specialized schools." UniversityLanguage.com Be careful what program you choose. Investigate first & work with the recruiter. You have your part too! Credits for courses which are purely technical in nature may or may not transfer to a university. Educational institutions are either regionally or nationally accredited. Accreditation is a voluntary process that ensures a college, university, or degree program meets a universal standard for quality. This gives an institution and its graduates credibility with other institutions and employers. My instructor (Dana) made sure the class was interactive and made sure we had a firm grip on the material being taught. I felt very prepared to take the exam once the boot camp was completed in September. Due to some unforeseen challenges (good ol 2020 the year that keeps giving) I delayed taking the exam until December. After I scheduled my exam I spent 2 weeks reviewing my notes from class and the additional course materials (full boot camp videos) on the PMTI website. The only problem I have with this school is they promise you the world after you graduate, $75k a year job right away, lifetime career services, job fairs, etc. The issue is you can ALL THE CERTS and ALL THE GRADES but without practical IT work experience you ain't getting a good job. At 1st I thought this was the way to go but now I'm $16k in debt and climbing (those damn interest rates) and only working a $35k a year job. I did get all the certs and graduated as a Salutorian but where's everything they promised? I did enjoy the classes and instructors but now looking back I wish I would have gotten the certifications on my own time. Plus they keep bugging me like salespeople to come back and take the advanced courses. The issue is I'M ONLY MAKING $35K a year!! I can't add to my debt while I'm still having trouble paying it off.

The certifications earned from MYCC are useless. They are NOT vendor specific and MYCC will not…read moretell you that voluntarily. Companies use vendor specific IT products and hire accordingly. My instruction time at MYCC is 100% percent virtual and the laptop I purchased came with no windows keys. MYCC removed the windows keys and you are forced to purchase them again. The educational resources provided are weak and I actually learned more from YouTube. Instructor lead class instructions are a waste of time. The Instructor is reading a PowerPoint and not educating. When I meet my career services counselor it was via webex and she was in her home wearing pajamas. She has done nothing of substance and I would never allow her to represent me to possible employers. I highly suggest that you stay away from MYCC and get your IT education for vendor specific certs. CompTIA certs are vendor neutral and you are not going to get a job making the salary stated by the MYCC admissions department. Elon Musk said you can learn pretty much everything on the internet for free and that is especially true with IT. Buy books, purchase practice exams, watch you tube and take your certs.
