You know you already like a place, when you're there twice in the space of a few hours. Discovered a cute new cafe; The ICHO Restaurant located on Browning street, in West End. I only happened to walk by as I was in the area for an appointment.
The cafe itself used to be an old house, that the owners have renovated & turned into a gorgeous little cafe, with plenty of cozy seating indoors, as well as courtyard seating front of shop.
The breakfast menu is only small, & basic with some Japanese inspired items, but there's all the breakfast regulars starting from $10, & the most being $16.50 for Eggs Benedict. I decided to try the Asian Omelette ($15) with mushrooms, nori, spinach, wasabi Mayo with some toast. It was simple & delicious. I loved the addition of the wasabi mayo. Yum. I also ordered a long macchiato from Toby's Estate Coffee. The coffee was excellent, & not bitter.
Came right back to The ICHO Restaurant after my appointment for lunch to order their special of the day: Soft shell crab ($18) with tomato, cucumber, lettuce, topped with a fried egg, & a side of crunch chips & homemade aioli. Wow this was a massive serve! So yummy & the aioli was to die for.
The lunch time menu from 11am to 3pm offers up a selection of salads, chicken & steak burgers, & lasagne. They also make fresh in house pies, cakes & have daily specials, so look out for those.
The staff were so friendly & I love the fact that this cafe is in a quiet area. It's perfect for catch ups & long conversations. Paid Parking can be found on Browning street itself or surrounding streets, & the bus stops right out the front.
