So so. 2 and a half stars, which rounds up to three. Short version: not really recommended, though you could do worse. Definitely a "quantity-not-quality" kind of place. When you walk in, you pass a bunch of gumball-style dispensers and a not-so-clean, overcrowded fish tank. The windows aren't very clean, but neither is most anything inside. It's one of those places where about every third light bulb is out, there are boxes stacked up against the walls, the hostess has her own meal she's eating while she does other things, etc. The food is okay. Not terrible, but not great. Very standard Chinese buffet items: General Tso's chicken, egg drop soup, black pepper chicken (the black pepper chicken was actually quite good), lo me in, etc. Some of it may have been out for quite some time, depending on the time of day you arrive. The service was adequate. Not friendly at all, but not terribly cold. The hostess/server stopped offering refills on my drinks at a certain, indicating she was ready for me to leave. But she did a pretty good up to that point, but then I guess she reached her "limit," if you will. The guy making the sushi behind the bar was friendly, though he didn't address me in English; just smiled broadly when I thank him for making the food. Dessert is standard cookies-and-cake-out-of-a-box, but they also have a cooler of self-serve items like those crunchy Hershey's ice creams on a stick and small cups of ice cream. This is the only Chinese buffet in the area, so if you've got a hollow leg and a hankering for a buffet, this is your only option. All that said, for the amount you'll spend ($12 during the week, $15 during the weekend, and then add on $3 for a drink and the tax), you're looking at $20 a head, and you could get better quality food at Panda Express, if not the same volume of it. I won't be back, but it was worth the shot. read more

this buffet was overall disgusting. The food was okay, the waiter kept refilling our drinks and picking up dirty plates which is good of course. There were alot of downsides of this buffet. 1 the waiter came and took our drinks when we weren't even sat at our table. 2 there was not a lot of sushi options. 3 the spoon was dirty which is not a good look for a restaurant. 3 when I walked in there was 3 tables that had not been clean as the previous customer had been there. Overall I would not recommend I would much rather go to golden coral. read more

First impressions walking through the door, horrible stench. It smells like rotting seafood in the lobby, then you walk in to the dining room it doesn't smell as bad but the environment is completely the opposite of what a restaurant should be, it's dirty, the kitchen was looking disgusting, dimly lit. The food had a weird taste to it & it wasn't fresh. Don't even get me started on the bathrooms. I can say that the service was good. My waitress was quick with refills & taking plates. But other than that. 0/10 would NOT recommend read more

Worst food you could possibly eat, cold dried up leftovers from days ago I will never return to this place very nasty, and the staff aren't friendly at all read more

I love Chinese food, but Ichiban falls short in quality, and the food is always cold. The woman hostess is not friendly At all.

0 stars nastiest food i ever tasted , everything is cold , i do not recommend this place to anyone ever , DONT BRING YOUR FAMILY HERE

I would not recommend this place. We stopped thinking it would be your typical Chinese buffet. There was hardly any food on the line and everything that was on the line was extremely old. It's also pretty small. read more

Ichiban Buffet - Old chicken on a stick, egg roll and "teriyaki" chicken - Sushi Bars Near Me - Hiram, Georgia

First, let me just say I really came here accidentally. I'm not a fan of buffets so this review is based off fresh to go order items. Service was 2 stars. No greeting and waiter was almost irritated that I was there. I ordered vegetable fried rice and dumplings. The fried rice was average, actually lacking flavor and the signature egg that's usually in fried rice. The dumplings were okay. There were a lot of families here to enjoy dinner. The prices are reasonable for a family outing on a budget. Probably won't be back! read more

First I was surprised by the table service supplied for dine in was plastic and chopsticks were available on the buffet. . We were early and they said yes they were open and the buffet line was not fully stocked. As we grazed more dishes were set out. Interestingly they offered a low County boil. Egg drop soup was hot and good. I enjoyed the egg custard cup as well. Many choices of fruit and ice cream bars. The hibachi bar could use some display help I think. Maybe I should volunteer to help lol. read more

Service was ok but me & my family we're disappointed because of the lack of food. no flavor or anything. drinks were bad too

Average Chinese buffet- They do have very good wonton soup. I arrived just minutes after they opened. It did take the better part of an hour for them to have most of the buffet offerings available. For example, I eat steamed rice and it was about 45 minutes before this was made available. Most of the dishes available are common to Chinese buffets that include General Tzu's chicken (very mild without hot peppers), sesame chicken, black pepper chicken, etc. Basically a lot of chicken and limited other protein offerings. They do have sushi and hibachi available but I did not eat either. They have a typical mix of other Asian offerings like Korean (Kim chi) and Japanese (sushi, yum yum sauce) also available. So, in conclusion, it is a very average Chinese buffet. With the ever present threat of COVID, it is hard to find any Asian offerings that do anything more than take-out or delivery. It seems to be quite popular to the local laborers and that tends to bode well for the consistency of a restaurant in the local community. read more

Save yourself the money and go anywhere else. We should have left after noticing the filth on the front door. The hostess was far from friendly, not even a smile. Upon leaving she never said a word other than the total of our bill. Buffet was the saddest we have ever seen. We went for dinner and the food looked like it had been there since they opened. Over cooked, limited selections and a number of items were gone. Went over to the hibachi side, it was basically empty and the lights weren't on. We figured that section was closed as we didn't see anybody there. As we were sitting drinking our sodas we heard the hibachi person cooking. The restaurant itself was dirty and worn down. Needless to say we left with only having a drink and a few items as most looked like it was unsafe. Obviously, we won't be back. read more

Food is pretty bland especially for the price. Can't say anything great about this place . Basically if you are starving and craving Chinese food it will do the job read more

I have been here several times and it was always just an average experience. On today's visit I noticed they have completely refurbished the place from top to bottom, it looks much better. As for the food, it is still just average, nothing really stood out just basic buffets. They do have a good sushi selection, and some fresh veggies. They also have ice cream and hibachi. The staff is extremely friendly and quick to serve your needs. I give the food 3 stars but staff and service 5 stars, so overall 4 stars from me. I'll return since it's the only buffet around here. read more

Simple yet good food. Place is clean, small and comfortable in a way. Respectable staff. Would go again :).

I've seen this restaurant go through many changes over the years, but the latest is the best! If you're a japanese food, sushi or shellfish fan, you'll enjoy Ichiban. I had oysters on the half shell, green muscles, baby octopus salad, and there was craw fish & shrimp. Crab legs were available by the pound, but mind you, this is Sunday. They also have hibachi dishes, so you have great choices. Go check it out! read more

my husband and i just left this restaurant because the food was "ice cold". so i took it up to the manager and told them about the food being cold. their remedy was that they could heat it up in the microwave for 2 minutes and then i could eat it hot, or that i could order from the menu to get hot food. i told them no , i expect to have hot food when i come to your restaurant. their next response was that the steamers were working because of the steam cokming from the back. hmmmm, that doesn't cut it with me. and when other customers went up to get their food, they were telling them, "everything hot". and their water sucked too. i even put a lemon in it and lots of sugar but the water still sucked. my daughter went there a couple of months ago to find "roaches" in the dessert bar. save yourself your money and eat somewhere where they actually care about their customers and not just your money. and no i did not leave a "tip".......:(:(:(:(:(:( "coldhearted" read more

I'm so disappointed with this food. It tastes like it has been re-used multiple times. Not hot at ALL, not fresh, no flavor. For $6 per person for lunch, I guess you could find SOMETHING here, but my suggestion is to spend your $6 elsewhere, like a McDonalds. read more

Poor quality and staff leaves you with a feeling that they don't care if you are there. Not worth another visit for us.

Hey looks like they have two Ichiban Buffet Yelp for Hiram. I say if you want Chinese food just take yourself over across the street to Panda Express. Huh? I swear it's worse than a mall Chinese food and that's what Panda Express are. The foods were so limited and every time I move to get up it looks like I'm eating the same dishes over and over again. I've came here for the valentines and never again. I did tried the one at Holly Springs (better) but foods were sitting on the buffet line for too long for my liking. I didn't get to try the Hibachi (both locations) and I guess that's where they make the bucks? I may have gotten sick that day too but cannot pinpoint if it was from this place. Anyways not a good place but as the other poster said it's the only Chinese buffet around. read more

Who are the idiots writing to complain about their HAMBURGERS? Ichiban is Asian Buffet and has NEVER sold hamburgers. It ain't Benihana, but for a neignborhood Asian buffet place in semi-rural Georgia, where the locals wouldn't know good Asian food if it bit them, and Panda Fresh is the standard, it's tasty and a good value. (I'm from California where Asian food is simply "food"), The booths may be a bit WORN, as a family operation not a chain, but is no more or less CLEAN than any number of other local dives, but those are run by good old bubbas, so they get a pass, whereas these hard working, friendly folks get trolled. Judge for yourself. read more

Lots and lots of choices. My family loves this place due to the large variety and there is plenty of things for everyone. Sushi is good with a larger than expected selection. Don't do it. Save yourself!!! I knew better but went against my better judgement. Don't know where to start. Kids were all over the place touching all the food. Adults had their entire bodies in the ice cream coolers. The sushi chef wiped his nose with his hand without cleaning his hands. To be new establishment it was not clean. The menu for the grill was written in marker and the cook only spoke Spanish so you had to point at what you wanted. My time there was limited I could not stay to eat there read more

I recently visited the Dallas area from the Bay area. Cali has much better food and this place proves my point. The food was just OK. It is buffet style and the food was flavorless, while some of the food items were over salty. In addition, I saw kids playing in the food and that freaks me out due to my OCD. The place is well lit and parking is free. The servers come quickly to clear dirty plates off of the table. My aunt recommended this place because she has not been to Cali in 15 years. Hopefully, when she moves back here, she will get to know what real food tastes like without the germs of everybody's hands included. read more

Avoid this place, the buffet itself is small so not much variety! A lot of the items did not smell good & tasted like refrigerator. :(
