The wooden beams, overall décor and large open kitchen give it that authentic feel, but beyond the welcoming look and feel you will get to appreciate some excellent food. Not to mention, good value for money if you consider how expensive Japanese food can be in Belgium. We went on a busy Saturday night and were seated at the counter facing the sushi chef. Things seemed to run very smoothly and we ordered sashimi for starters followed by a prawn and a beef teppanyaki. The sashimi was fresh and tasted great. It was very nice to be able to see the chefs at work, slicing and dicing, and the plating up right in front of you. The teppanyaki that followed were equally good, with a preference for my beef order accompanied by tasty mushrooms and a flavorsome jus. Prawns were no showstopper but weren't in any way bad. Good food here, and proof you don't need to be Japanese to master the iron griddle and cook good food. The Belgian head chef does a fine job surrounded by his Japanese team.

When we arrived, we saw an empty table with no reservation sign on it. However, the chef saw us, came over, and abruptly said, "We're full!" before we could even ask a question, then walked away. One of the staff members also completely ignored us, which felt quite rude and unwelcoming. No matter how good the food might be, this kind of attitude makes us not want to return. They seriously need to improve their reservation system and reconsider how they treat potential customers.

On some days, it can be filled with Japanese people who really know how to enjoy their food, which makes you really feel as if you were in Japan for a little bit. Another nice factor is that you can order a bottle of shoju and leave it there with your name if you weren't able to finish it, so you can continue the next time you come again. Neat, isn't it? So, to conclude, there is definitely nothing that would stop me from going there again. Ok, I forgot to mention that the waiter can come off as a little bit arrogant.
