I am skeptic of any rolling sushi bars but the food is actually fresh and good at this place. This place offers a vast menu besides a rolling sushi bar and I tried the sea bass and three piece of lambs; both dishes were actually excellent dishes. The service started slow but once the server took the order, she was attentive and very nice. OMG are Taxi driver recommended this place so we Yelped it and I was a little skeptical when the Yelp Page only gave it 3.5 stars. This was a 5 Star in my eyes the food was absolutely delicious, serves was outstanding and location was easy to get to from our hotel! I had sweet wine as my drink and it was fantastic, my husband had the Wieckse White beer and it was also great and I do t like beer, but it was great! I don't do sushi generally, but I am glad I tried some here. The menu is extremely vegetarian friendly, and almost has a pretty good distribution between fish and vegetarian dishes. We tried almost all the vegetarian sushi options and they were really delicious. Wasabi, I had forgotten how amazing you are! This is a perfect spot for a pre-movie dinner. There is a lot of seating; reservations are preferred but you might be able to find a table upstairs if not. The ambience is classy and quiet and you could decide to either get a regular table, a high table, or just dine at the sushi bar. The service is very nice for Amsterdam, and is almost American standard, you know, when the server commends you for every choice you make as somehow it's the best dish ever. Our orders were brought to is quite speedily and with a smile. Vegetarian friendly, classy, not-so-expensive. This is just my kind of dinner spot. This place is not good for lunch on a Friday or a weekend. Their a la carte menu is ridiculously overpriced. However, if you come during lunch or on Mon-Thurs, you can take advantage of their bento boxes which are much more reasonably priced. They also have a promotion on Mon-Thurs for a movie and a meal for less than €20. Food: 3/5 We had several rolls and also some teppanyaki dishes. The sushi was a hit or miss, some rolls were tasty and others were a strange combination (e.g. Ika Furai). Service: 4/5 The staff were friendly and helpful, checking in every now and then to see if things were ok (aka American levels of service). Atmosphere: 3/5 There is outdoor seating so you can do a bit of people watching as well. The inside of the restaurant is quite fancy. An excellent restaurant in the heart of Bijlmer (or should I say South-East Amsterdam? The service is actually un-Dutch, this is an extreme compliment in my view. General Dutch service is beyond crap. At Ichi-E the serving personell seems to care, if they don't they manage to hide it very well! The food was great, quickly served and, since we attempted to order things that were not available in the upstairs part of the restaurant, but technically in the downstairs part, the serving lady was very helpful in giving us (similarly priced) alternatives to make up the complete dish we had in mind. If you happen to go to the cinema or a concert, go a bit early and have some excellent japanse food with them! The staff deserves a big tip (at least when we were there)! read more

It is close to where I work and wanted to have a nice lunch with Didi during work day. We got a table outside in the sun and after a moment we could order our dishes. I had some spicy tuna and some maki. The sushi was ok, not great, however for the price I expected better quality. The service can be so much improved. We had to wait quite long to order second time and there was no one to be found when we wanted to pay. General opinion. If you have a concert, movie, etc. in the neighborhood and you want something tasty and not too greasy then you can try it. read more

This restaurant is a really nice addition to the neighbourhood. Before Ichi-E opened, there was not much more than fast food and some pubs where you can eat the standard chicken sate with french fries or a 'gourmet' burger. Ichi-E serves great sushi and also warm Japanese dishes. Everytime I've been here the food has been tasty and I don't remember ever being disappointed. The staff is usually quite friendly and helpful. What I don't like about this restaurant is that they have events menus whenever there is an event in one of the concert halls. With the Arena, Heineken Music Hall and Ziggo Dome around the corner there are events in the area quite often. I don't like their events menu (it's just a few things from the normal menu, not a lot of choice), but I understand they have to be able to serve a bigger audience in case of events. read more

This damn salmon kabob"saki yaki" .......... soooooooo moist, tasteful with not a lot of soy and carmalized to the tee! There was not a spot that was over crunchy not a thought of dryness expected. If I could give this 0 stars I would. Was craving sushi, found this spot by my hotel. Went in, got sat down, was given the menu. And that's it. I sat there for 15 minutes without them offering to bring any water. They had so many people just stating around cleaning or wiping down plates. So many employees and such shockingly bad customer service. They weren't even that busy. I just walked out after 15 minutes of hanging out on my phone at the table. read more

Heard good things about this place, but ended up being disappointed. Service was friendly enough, but the food was mediocre. Far better than the all-you-can-eat sushi venues that are overly popular in the NL, but still way over priced for what they served. Beef roll bento box was not terrible, but not great either. Beef rolls tasted alright, but were oddly watery; two zucchini slices topped with mushrooms was considered their "grilled vegetables"; salad with a tasty dressing; fried rice that was just boring. All this for 16.50EUR! Way overpriced! Did not find this place to be anywhere near "authentic" Japanese. read more

Horrible service and staff. Got lied to that all tables were booked. We could only sit at the bar... So we sit at the bar and see group after group without reservation ( overheard the conversation ) get directed to one of the supposedly reserved tables, which actually were not reserved at all. When we asked another employee it was mentioned that the tables were only for groups with more than 2 people. After 10 minutes we still did not receive our ordered drinks. When we mentioned this to an employee and said we will leave, the sarcasm and negativity dripped from his words, while he did not know how to further accelerate our departure from the venue. i must say upfront that i am not a huge fan of the Arenablvd. it always seems flashy, and a bit tacky and wayyy overpriced to me. why go and spend a fortune on a cralpy burger there, while you can have delicious Surinam food in the mall on the otherside of the station? but today i wanted something healthy. the weather was gorgeous and i was tired, so i went for sushi. again, not cheap. there bentoboxes and soups seemed very generic. i ordered a simple tuna sushi, which was quite good, 6 euro for 4, and some amazing vegetarian sushi with a crust of pine nuts, for 5 euro. friendly staff as well, so i was happy! read more

I have been there three times, once was pick up and twice in the restaurant itself. first time was a big group of around 15 people, the food cam whenever, the waitresses did not write anything down and could not remember who ordered what. Each table of two has a unique number, so theoretically there is a system in place, but they prefer to yell at people. Once we asked them to check with the menu they started being totally rude and defensive. Second time was off peak and only two people, service managed to bring correct food - wow! third time was a pick up and they told us it would be ready in 10 minutes only to then tell us that the order menu has incorrect numbers!! Imagine they have a separate pick up menu and the NUMBERS ARE WRONG AND THEY know about it. No apology nothing. The food is really good, but the service is so outrageously rude and unprofessional that I will not eat there anymore and I will advise not to go there everyone I know. read more
