Jasmine and I were expecting a weekend of comfort. We were greeted with a personalized experience we never could have imagined. The owner of this establishment - Ray - treated us like family. If I could give this establishment ten stars, I would. Everyone, from the hosts, to the bartenders, to the servers, to the housekeeping staff - everything was perfect. These are people that care about their guests. They care, and it shows. If you stay at this beautiful hotel, you will never want to stay anywhere else in Telluride. My gratitude and my appreciation know no bounds. Ray and his entire staff deserve your business, my business, and all of the business that comes their way. I cannot possibly say enough great things. And that isn't even to mention the gorgeous rooms that await their guests!! The rooms are amazing!! I'd give Ray and the New Sheridan 10 stars if I could. Thank you, thank you, thank you for one of the greatest weekends of our lives.

The hotel itself is charming, the room was very clean, and the staff was friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The hotel is also pet friendly, which was a big plus for us traveling with our dog. The room was a little on the small side, but our biggest complaint was the lack of air conditioning. We understand it's a historic building, but the room did get warm. The hotel recommends opening the windows, but we were surprised they didn't have screens, so that wasn't an ideal solution. Parking is free, but there isn't a dedicated hotel parking lot. You'll need to park on a designated nearby block. The hotel does have a convenient unloading area in front, which made getting our luggage in and out much easier. One thing that was a little confusing when we arrived is that there are three separate entrances--one for the restaurant, one for the hotel, and one for the rooftop bar. We also found it a bit unusual that you walk through the restaurant to reach the hotel hostess/check-in area, but everyone was very friendly and happy to help. We also appreciated the complimentary coffee in the morning, which was a nice touch before heading out for the day. Overall, it's a charming historic hotel with an unbeatable location, friendly staff, and a pet-friendly atmosphere. If you don't mind the lack of air conditioning and a few quirks that come with an older building, it's a great place to stay in Telluride.

Also their underground parking lot makes getting from the car to your room a breeze. The room was massive and as was the bathroom. My favorite part though was the balcony. So delightful to sit out there and be right at the base of the mountain. The continental breakfast had super fresh fruit, yogurt parfaits and homemade cinnamon rolls. Would be spending $30+ per person for breakfast anywhere else so it's a winner. I can't wait to be back and try one of their condos with some friends :)

We had an excellent stay at the Camel's Garden Hotel…read more While it is an older hotel, you can't beat the location. It is located right next to the gondola. It does appear they may have renovated the downstairs common area. There is plenty of lounge seating, a fireplace and light oks like you can host a small gathering. We walked in and the front desk clerk who worked Wednesday was very friendly and even walked the luggage cart down to the garage for us. There is an underground garage that has shared space with the hotel condos. But it is $20 a day to park. I'm not sure if there is an alternative space outside to park overnight. The king room was very spacious and has a fireplace. Our friends stayed in the queen size room which was much smaller and no fireplace. There is plenty of seating in the room and has a large bathroom, wardrobe closet, 2 dressers and dining table. There is a large tv but unfortunately the WiFi is a bit sketchy so we could watch much tv. We even had a small balcony. The bed was very comfortable. Pillows not so much. Plenty of linens. There is a ski valet which is open from 8:30am to 4:30pm which is so nice to have available. We came down the hill late one afternoon and left our equipment outside the valet room. They were safe and sound inside the valet the next day. We had the nicest ski valets taking care of us, Jake and Miller. The hotel provides a free continental breakfast from 7:30am to 9:30am. Bagels & salmon, toast, fruit, yogurt, juice and coffee. The breakfast staff were very friendly. There is a nice pool and jacuzzi with views. A bar/restaurant is attached to the hotel which is convenient. Clearly a locals favorite. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Telluride.

We chose it because it is right across the street from a lift and the gondola and has suites with large outdoor decks and hot tubs. Our experience could not have been better. Every single employee we interacted with, from the front desk to the restaurant to the cleaning and maintenance staff were friendly and professional. Our room (25 & 26) was large and exactly as advertised. They combined two rooms to make a really nice suite, with a fireplace in the living room. The deck was spacious and looked out over the area by the lift and gondola. The view was so-so as there are buildings on every side, but it worked well for us. We enjoyed the hot tub each evening. It was very clean and held a steady 103 while we were using it, despite the outside temperature being in the low teens. Their ski locker room is clean and well organized, with a separate entrance/exit that let's you avoid walking through the lobby in your gear. The complementary breakfast each morning was fairly basic, but was more than enough to get us going for the day. The waitstaff kept the coffee flowing, which we really appreciated. We had a small mechanical problem with our room when we arrived, and they handled it immediately. The room price is what you should expect for a large suite in a boutique hotel in a ski town that is literally steps from the lifts and gondola. Although pricey, I believe if offered great value for what we got from the experience. Highly recommend.

Tough one. We've been coming here for years (7 times now? 8?) and love the location. For the most…read morepart we love the service. We generally love the amenities (though we miss the lip balm that used to greet us). The WiFi is now flawless. We have only stayed in rooms 35 and 37 (better views out of 35 but we liked the quiet of the larger 37 this trip). Rooms have been mostly refurbished (our rooms fridge looked battered but worked great; yes, they have robes) and are generally very clean but on this trip we experienced an issue (discussed below). Not in love with the pricing, which has only gotten higher. Hey, I guess if you can get away with it, go for it. Not at all in love with the money-grab of the parking situation. When we started coming, it was $10/day. Now it's $35. Not in love with the dog-friendly nature of the place (I'm allergic). Supposedly (according to the website and front desk staff) the third floor is off-limits to pets, which should make it a place I can sleep without problems. Well, this time we found the carpet of our third floor suite of rooms was heavily coated with long, white dog hair. I took a Benadryl and mentioned it when we headed down to breakfast the next day and the (thoroughly wonderful) woman staffing the front desk was clearly alarmed and _immediately_ had Housekeeping go vacuum and clean the room; they did a good job which got most (not all) of the hair, so I didn't mention it again. (I do love the responsiveness of the staff, and generally the cleanliness of the room - it's just a problem when there are dogs shedding on carpet). The included breakfast buffet is not what it was: less selection with no more cold meats and cheeses, but still pastries, yogurt, a warm egg dish and warm meats, toasts and hard boiled eggs. Great service by staff in the breakfast room (which moonlights as Cosmopolitan restaurant). Good coffee. So. The unexpected and not entirely removed dog hair - not good. The service was great and generally really welcoming and friendly. Rooms are nice. The location is fantastic. Breakfast is nice, but no longer cartwheel-inspiring. Pricing is high - but look where you are. However, parking is - no other way to say it - a ripoff and kind of an insult. Overall, I guess it's a 4 out of 5 . . . but it's sure not the hip-hip-hooray five stars that I always gave it before I delete my last Yelp account.

Heart of Telluride is right in the middle of Colorado Ave. walking distance to everything. Shopping? It's all around. Food? Everything is right there. Grocery? liquor? Right here. Gondola and ski lifts? Quick 2 block walk. If you ski, they also provide lockers right at the base of the mountain. And if you like to partake in the 420 action, they have it. This place is three stories with a condo at the bottom that can be separate or can be rented along with the top 2 floors if you have a lot of folks. We rented the entire place so that means 2 kitchens, 2 washer dryers, 2 living areas, etc. The downtsfairs condo itself is gorgeous and would be awesome if you just have 2 people. King bed, steam shower, living area, fully appointed kitchen. Come up the stairs to the second floor where you find a huge master bedroom with king bed, huge master bath with steam shower and a stand alone tub. There is a washer dryer on this floor. Another bedroom has king bed, full bath, and entrance to the back itself in case you want to sneak in late. Another bedroom also without a bathroom inside but there's one across the hall. Did I mention that bathrooms have robes and slippers? And that the floors are heated? And that the bedrooms have fireplaces? It's truueeee! Then we have the top floor with an awesome kitchen with top of the line appliances and everything you need. And a nice sized living/ dining area along with a bar too. The patio outside is a superstar! Lots of furniture. Hot tub!! Grill!! Views or the mountain and town. The guy that met us and showed us the House was a wealth of info. And we were greeted with a gift basket in the upstairs and downstairs kitchens with wine, bread, a box full of chocolate treats, cheese, coffee, etc. Basically, you feel like the queen (or king) of the mountain if you stay at Heart of Telluride. We recently stayed four nights at Mountain Lodge Telluride. There is a lot to like about this…read moreproperty, but unfortunately, the valet situation and several other service issues significantly affected our stay. CONS AVOID THE VALET!!! My vehicle was moved several times during our short four-night stay despite my specifically requesting that it not be driven, and we received conflicting information from staff about the hotel's valet policies. 9/24, noon: I accepted a valet parking spot next to the main entrance. Valet "N" told me that my 2026 Honda Passport SUV could remain there for the duration of our four-day stay. I specifically told him that I did not want anyone driving the vehicle, and he confirmed this. 9/24, approximately 2:00 p.m.: After returning from lunch, I discovered that my vehicle had been moved to another parking space. 9/24, approximately 4:30 p.m.: I then discovered that my vehicle had been moved yet again, this time to a location unknown to me. I spoke with valet "A," who explained that they had to move it. I was then told that my brand new $56,000 vehicle was not considered "high-end" enough to remain parked near the main entrance because of company policy. Valet "A" subsequently told me he would keep the vehicle in the front parking spot for the remainder of our stay. I thanked him and gave him a $40 cash tip. 9/25, morning: My SUV had once again been moved to an unknown location. Management also told me that unless a vehicle is valued at approximately $76,000 or more, it is considered non-luxury and cannot remain parked near the main entrance, which I was told is a policy established by the GM. Even more concerning, an employee told me that valet staff may occasionally use a guest's vehicle to drive between the Lodge and the Market Station garage, with which the Lodge partners, rather than walk over while retrieving another guest's valeted vehicle. If accurate, I find that completely unacceptable. If I ever stay here again, I will absolutely avoid the valet and park my own vehicle at the public Market Station gondola garage. Restaurant and bar closed for private event During one night of our stay, the entire restaurant and bar were closed for a private event--a wedding rehearsal dinner. This was not disclosed when we booked our stay. When I questioned upper management, I was told that the closure resulted from a last-minute decision due to an emergency. However, two staff members separately told me that events of this type normally require a minimum of five months to reserve. At the very least, the explanations we received were inconsistent. Poor sound insulation between rooms Our junior suite had a locked interior connecting door to the adjoining room. Unfortunately, the door provided very little sound insulation, and we could easily hear our neighbors. Refrigerator maintenance problem The refrigerator in our suite was running at or above 40°F and displayed a "Vacuum Condenser" warning. I notified the front desk, and staff took notes. The following day, maintenance left a note stating that the fan had been checked. Unfortunately, that did not correct the problem. I subsequently emailed the manager but never received a reply. Maintenance did call me the next day to ask about the refrigerator temperature, and I explained that it was still too warm for me to safely store our food. I ultimately threw away a large, newly purchased salad from the restaurant. I also looked at the condenser and found it heavily covered with dust and lint--approximately 50% obstructed. It appeared to be badly overdue for cleaning. See photo. Other issues At breakfast on 9/25, they were out of orange juice. Not a major issue by itself, but surprising for a property at this level. My to-go burger order was also incorrect; I initially received someone else's order. Staff corrected the mistake promptly, but although I had specifically ordered my burger well-done, the replacement was medium-rare. PROS There were several things we genuinely enjoyed. The restaurant and bar staff were very friendly and professional, and the food was creative and delicious. The Village Omelet at breakfast was outstanding. The Lodge itself is stunning, and our junior suite was large, beautiful, and exceeded our expectations. It was located just a short walk down the driveway from the main lodge. The location is also excellent. Finally, Santiago in valet deserves special recognition. He was a total professional and stood out as an excellent employee. BOTTOM LINE Mountain Lodge Telluride is a beautiful property with excellent food, an impressive setting, and some very good employees. Unfortunately, the repeated movement of my vehicle after I had specifically requested that it not be driven, along with conflicting explanations about valet policies, overshadowed much of the experience. For a property at this level, I expect clear and consistent policies, accurate communication.
