Perfect location for everything in Telluride and Mountain Village, just steps to hiking, dining, gondola. Stayed in Room 32 which was a 1 bedroom suite and very spacious. 2 balconies (1 from bedroom, 1 from living area). Kitchen area with fridge, sink and even a little 2 burner stove and plates/bowls/pots pans/nespresso coffe maker. 1 full bathroom and 1 half bathroom. Service at front desk was friendly and always available.

Window in the bathroom, what a view.

What an amazing hotel! This was such a fun Colorado staycation, and we had a great time at the Hotel Columbia for 3 nights. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, with a nice, warm, boutique feeling. We were in room 25, on the second floor, which is a king room, corner view, with a small balcony. The room itself was large, with a king bed, corner chair, bench at the foot of the bed, lamps and night stands on each side, with the television set upon a cabinet that provided drawer and shelf space for our stuff. A Keurig with coffee pods sat next to the television. The closet was located in the entry way next to the door, and contained a safe, 2 robes, as well as an iron and ironing board. The bathroom was exceptional, with a huge bathtub, a very large shower with multiple shower heads, a heated towel rack, and a floating vanity with a single sink. The view was incredible, as room 25 is on the back corner of the hotel, so it's literally looking right out towards the gondola and the restaurants and shops surrounding the base of the gondola. Extremely convenient to access the gondola and ride up and over to Telluride Mountain Village while enjoying spectacular views. Each morning a complimentary breakfast is served, buffet style, within the hotel's restaurant. Hotel Columbia serves up a much better breakfast than the usual complimentary hotel breakfast, as the breakfast is smaller and therefore it seemed that more attention was given to the food quality and guest satisfaction. Each morning there was a selection of bagels, pastries, boiled eggs, cereal, yogurt, cheese, and charcuterie, as well as a couple of hot dishes. For two of our three breakfasts, one of the hot dishes was quiche, and the quiche was fantastic. Perfectly flaky tender crust, just the right amount of vegetables, and plenty of gooey cheese. The servers at the breakfast were fun, chatty, and really gave the day a great start, especially when they don't let your coffee cup ever empty. The hotel is 2 blocks from the Colorado Street, which is the main street in Telluride with lots of shops and restaurants. Everything is seriously within walking distance. We parked our car with the hotel valet when we arrived, and never moved it until check-out, because everything was so close. I'm looking forward to another trip to Telluride, perhaps again for the Telluride Horror Show, and I will definitely stay at the Hotel Columbia again. The hotel also allows dogs in some of their room, which is great if you want to go on vacation and bring your pet. Since the Hotel Columbia offers several unique rooms, I look forward to checking out other options rather than room 25, perhaps a room with a hot tub next time!

Following Luca's recommendation, we stayed here and couldn't have been happier. Since his review, the entire hotel was remodeled and very tastefully so. Travertine/limestone bathrooms with a spa shower, flat screen TV's kitchenette in our room and while we didn't have a fire place, we did have a gorgeous view of the gondola and the babbling brook that runs right underneath the lift. Not to mention, room service from the restaurant downstairs, and the best room service either one of us has had. Good amenities, continental breakfast included, ideal location, great personal service, and affordable($10/day) easy parking. I would have preferred to have had a full breakfast, lunch service, and happy hour. But nothing we couldn't live without. All in all a very memorable stay. I suggest that you book on their website for a 10% discount, and request a view of the gondola. Slight gondola noise early morning, but well worth it for the view.

It does appear they may have renovated the downstairs common area. There is plenty of lounge seating, a fireplace and light oks like you can host a small gathering. We walked in and the front desk clerk who worked Wednesday was very friendly and even walked the luggage cart down to the garage for us. There is an underground garage that has shared space with the hotel condos. But it is $20 a day to park. I'm not sure if there is an alternative space outside to park overnight. The king room was very spacious and has a fireplace. Our friends stayed in the queen size room which was much smaller and no fireplace. There is plenty of seating in the room and has a large bathroom, wardrobe closet, 2 dressers and dining table. There is a large tv but unfortunately the WiFi is a bit sketchy so we could watch much tv. We even had a small balcony. The bed was very comfortable. Pillows not so much. Plenty of linens. There is a ski valet which is open from 8:30am to 4:30pm which is so nice to have available. We came down the hill late one afternoon and left our equipment outside the valet room. They were safe and sound inside the valet the next day. We had the nicest ski valets taking care of us, Jake and Miller. The hotel provides a free continental breakfast from 7:30am to 9:30am. Bagels & salmon, toast, fruit, yogurt, juice and coffee. The breakfast staff were very friendly. There is a nice pool and jacuzzi with views. A bar/restaurant is attached to the hotel which is convenient. Clearly a locals favorite. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Telluride.

Nice furniture and ambiance with the fireplace and various seating options. For the price this is one of the best deals in town. While it's by no means a modern hotel or resort, and is in fact a bit more on the basic side and a little outdated, you can't beat the location right next to the main Telluride lift and being right in downtown Telluride. I prefer staying here over Mountain Village as things shut down much earlier out that way. If I could have only a couple small suggestions it would be to see how they can get the rooms to not warm up so quickly (it was 10 degrees outside and I had the heat set to 64 and it kept going up to around 70 so I had to open a window). Then it was hard keeping a consistent temperature and I had to get up a couple of times during the night. The television steaming is very inconsistent and buffers or turns off for a few seconds, every few minutes. They also need refrigerators in the room. The beds are very comfortable but the pillows are mediocre. The giant tub is awesome as is the overall size of the room. The hot tub area just wasn't too appealing as the jets weren't strong enough and to get any jets you had to sit out of the tub with only half of your body submerged. It was awkward. Big hot tub but poor design. Needs to be a bit hotter and needs actual jets for both the low back and calves. I would recommend Camel's Garden Hotel to the middle to upper middle income skier who appreciates a great location and an ok experience. If you are fancy or rich then look at one of the boutique properties elsewhere.

Heart of Telluride is right in the middle of Colorado Ave. walking distance to everything. Shopping? It's all around. Food? Everything is right there. Grocery? liquor? Right here. Gondola and ski lifts? Quick 2 block walk. If you ski, they also provide lockers right at the base of the mountain. And if you like to partake in the 420 action, they have it. This place is three stories with a condo at the bottom that can be separate or can be rented along with the top 2 floors if you have a lot of folks. We rented the entire place so that means 2 kitchens, 2 washer dryers, 2 living areas, etc. The downtsfairs condo itself is gorgeous and would be awesome if you just have 2 people. King bed, steam shower, living area, fully appointed kitchen. Come up the stairs to the second floor where you find a huge master bedroom with king bed, huge master bath with steam shower and a stand alone tub. There is a washer dryer on this floor. Another bedroom has king bed, full bath, and entrance to the back itself in case you want to sneak in late. Another bedroom also without a bathroom inside but there's one across the hall. Did I mention that bathrooms have robes and slippers? And that the floors are heated? And that the bedrooms have fireplaces? It's truueeee! Then we have the top floor with an awesome kitchen with top of the line appliances and everything you need. And a nice sized living/ dining area along with a bar too. The patio outside is a superstar! Lots of furniture. Hot tub!! Grill!! Views or the mountain and town. The guy that met us and showed us the House was a wealth of info. And we were greeted with a gift basket in the upstairs and downstairs kitchens with wine, bread, a box full of chocolate treats, cheese, coffee, etc. Basically, you feel like the queen (or king) of the mountain if you stay at Heart of Telluride. This is the only way to do it!!

I love this property but it's overpriced for what you get and the rooms are definitely dated. They need to update the step in tubs and get rid of all of them and do walk-in showers. The room was so expensive and soooo tiny. The bed sagged and was not comfortable for two people. The worst part is the mandatory valet parking. You have no choice but to leave your car. That wouldn't normally be a problem, but since this property is built on the side of a mountain, all of the rooms are down the hill from check-in. They require you to use the Bellman, which I was grateful for, but it was a hassle when you just needed to grab one more thing out of your car, it took 20 minutes for them to bring your car back around. This was also a burden for my senior citizen mother who is having a really hard time walking up the hill, not only because of the steepness, but because of the high elevation. They really need to have golf carts to shuttle people up and down through the corridor of the property. It took forever to get our car anytime we needed it. I understand that parking is limited, but they should make special concessions when someone has a handicap, they should allow you to have your car parked at your building. For the positives, we enjoyed breakfast and a plated dinner for a wedding reception. The food was absolutely fantastic at both meals! For the wedding dinner, we had mashed potatoes and chicken, and the mashed potatoes tasted just like grandmas, perfectly seasoned, and so incredibly smooth. Hats off to the chef at the lodge! They also provide a complementary shuttle to the gondola which was much appreciated. I would stay here again, but I would definitely consider other properties until they renovate and update and get new beds!
