Cotton candy slushee with a turkey and provolone sub
Stephanie T.

So many selections of Perry ice cream and homemade creations. My kids love the waffle cones and the size of the scoops are huge! Today we tried the slushees with our subs and the cotton candy flavor was a hit with the kids. The subs use fresh bread and boars head meat. Definitely recommend!

Small NY Pothole

Finding an ice cream spot (or anything for that matter) on a Sunday in these parts is near impossible. I was starting to lose hope of finding some good homemade ice cream upstate before reaching the highway home until I stumbled upon this place. I was excited to see a list of in house made flavors and decided on the NY Pothole. Chocolate with chocolate chips. A small cone had 1 1/2 scoops and was just enough to satisfy my urge! Thank you for being open on a Sunday!!!

Great ice cream. They have different flavor rather than normal vanilla and chocolate flavor. I had Raspberry truffle which is frozen yogurt and it was awesome. There are seats in front and sides of the ice cream shop. Parking lot on the side but not many.

Dog treats and Small Christmas Cookie with rainbow sprinkles

I decided to spend my Saturday exploring Owego. I was told that this was a must visit. Because I wanted to shop , I left my doggo at home. I knew I wanted to try a homemade flavor. I went with Christmas Cookie and it was definitely nostalgic. The flavor was great with huge cookie chunks. I saw that they had a special treat for dogs and took two home for my boy. It was a great experience and I can't wait for their Earl Grey with Lavender to be available!

**********************UPDATED REVIEW************ Additional Diane contacted me to apologize for the pieces of waffle cone in our ice cream. I am so thankful for the apology and assured her I would definitely be back! This is THE most AMAZING example of awesome customer service. Thank you so much for being kind and empathetic to the struggle of being GF. It makes such a difference. I am a customer for life now...amazing ice cream is a perk too! When I went this last time, I got a Chocolate soft serve on GF cone with roasted coconut dip! Ice cream Works how do you manage to capture Chocolate creamy clouds and place them on top of a tasty cone! It's Magic! The young ladies were kind and super attentive to my special diet needs! Thank you! These ladies made what could become a super stressful experience so easy and fun! ORIGINAL Post Visited twice in one weekend! So good! First day met with a friend with kids. Kids had strawberry and cotton candy- they were quit for the short period of time it took for them to eat it! LOL I had the Aztec Chocolate...Amazing! Chocolate ice cream with chili powder, hint of cinnamon, and sriracha. Such a fabulous mix! Went back the next day! Decided to try the Ice cream flight! Six flavors of your choice...shared with a friend. We chose Aztec Chocolate, New York Potholes, French Roast, Black Cherry Swirl, Chocolate soft serve and I Nutella! So the Aztec Amazing NY Potholes was not GF my girlfriend said it was good though. INutellla! Was very close second to Aztec Chocolate for me! Chocolate soft serve was sooo creamy and smooth like fluffy cold chocolate pillows. French Roast not good-little to no coffee flavor however that was not one of there original flavors. The Black Cherry Swirl- it was a good amount of sweet however, I was disappointed to find bits of waffle cone in the Black Cherry which is not listed on the ingredients. When we returned our plate, I asked if that one was supposed to have waffle cone pieces in it. The young women replied No. I replied "Well ours did and I had let the young women helping us know I'm Gluten Free and asked ingredients." The young lady said "Ok" I was dumbfounded I was hoping for an apology next time I'll be sure to say explicitly what I am looking for. Hence two stars...I get they were busy but that does not release anyone from food safety. Otherwise I have enjoyed our time and items we have gotten there.

I'm definitely a fan any…read morecafe or similar space that integrates art into their environment, and there were quite a variety of lovely pieces at Carol's - many by the owner, but also included are other local artists. The menu, of course, also has "Carol's Favorite 'Comfort Food' Sandwiches" on the menu, all named after famous artists. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I'm a huge Van Gogh fan, so I ordered the "Van Gogh" sandwich that comes with oven roasted turkey breast layered on sourdough bread and lettuce, tomato, and mayo. The sandwich was good, but I have to say that proportions of the ingredients felt a bit off. I also noticed during the prep of my plate that the chips came from opening a bag (a bulk version similar to ripple chips you'd just buy at the store). In a cafe space like this, you can't necessarily expect people to be making everything from scratch... but I think it's just helpful to note to keep expectations in line. The drink that I ordered was made well (their beverage selection is at the very back of the menu). You can definitely tell that this is a community space, and it seemed like a number of locals filtered in throughout the lunch. There are notes on the tables that advise of a 90 minute limit for sitting at the table (not something I've ever actually seen before), and there's wifi available for use by customers. Perhaps an awkward experience was just related to the overall service? You grab a menu and choose your table if you're dining in, but you end up paying at the counter. Personally, if I'm going to sit down to eat then I'd prefer to have the check brought to the table and pay that way. The space is a bit cramped by the counter, so it seems like it'd benefit to minimize the foot traffic that has to wait there. And perhaps this is silly, but upon paying for the lunch, the server handed me my receipt and said "Just sign here", and then seemed to be somewhat... abrupt? I feel like I'm pretty low maintenance when dining out, but it just left me going "OH. Okay. Time for me to get out of the way" (it's worth noting that at the time, there was nobody waiting around, or to get to, the counter). Still, it was enjoyable to stop at Carol's Coffee & Art Bar. It's a more unique space with nice offerings.

(I'm still partial to Krispy Kreme however that's quite a drive from here.). The place is rather large, the dining area indoors looks like it's good for at least 30 people anyways and then the outdoor porch weather permitting is probably good for another 20. I arrived about 15 minutes after they opened and the line was forming pretty quickly however it also moved along pretty quickly. The person that takes your order is not the same person that gets your donuts and puts them in the box, so that seems to streamline things pretty well. There's a display up by the cash register with one of every donut that is currently being sold that morning/day so you can make your selection easier. The menu is a little more extensive than donuts, as they also have hoagies and shareables and of course coffee/ juices. For whatever reason, somebody decided to put donuts with beer... Yeah I don't know... But, if the mood strikes you they have a very fine selection that they rotate from time to time of draft beer. It's a pour your own kind of a thing and they also sell growlers. There's of course t-shirts and other random souvenirs that not only have the company logo/wording but Owego in general. Bottom of mind this place is definitely worth a visit.

Lots of Amish goods, farm fresh eggs ( and I mean fresh, the lady walked out the chicken coup to grab me a dozen). Service is top notch as it's family run and they actually care! We enjoy the Amish products we'd been told that they sell, and wanted to grab some soft drinks and jams/jellies. Our friends who told us about it touted their donuts, so we naturally had to pick out a few of those while we were at it. The exterior is like a post card produced by a Chambrer of Commerce. It is idyllic and beautifully attended. Even the antique pickup trucks out front were spotless. We noticed how spotless the interior is, and how well stocked and orderly the shelves are. The young women on duty were friendly and helpful. I haven't yet opened the jam or sodas we bought, but the sodas are a brand we know. The jam is awaiting us on our shelf. But, Meg and I each enjoyed a donut. Meg had the Pumpkin, and I had the Chocolate Oreo. They were both delicious. They were however, smaller than what I'm used to commercial donuts being. About the size of a Strohmans Cruller, if you are familiar with them. I recommend Little Creek Farm store. You should expect premium prices, but also premium products including the meats packaged by their butchers. Enjoy!
