He teamed up very well with our photographer. They assisted each other in "setting the stage", coordinating the best angles, and direction of travel. On the wedding day, Eddie came in early with a second shooter to videograph my fiancé and I getting ready in separate homes. He drove to a nearby park for our first look then traveled 1hr away to get to the church. At the ceremony, he mounted several cameras to get the best angles and was active throughout the time to get the optimum shots while also respecting distance. May I mention, this was in the hot heat of July - ...following the bride and groom as we galivanted around the park ...videotaped the full ceremony without a flinch even though the church air conditioning was broken ...and patiently waited for the end of the festivities although our contracted time had long exceeded. Eddie formatted and published a five-minute teaser just 2wks after our wedding. He followed up with the full video shortly after. He is fairly priced and worth every penny. He intently listens to any special requests or ideas you have in mind. In order to make COVID adjustments, my fiancé and I decided to celebrate our ceremony and reception on separate occasions. He was very accommodating and flexible in adjusting the contract/hours and was happy to edit videography for the separate events and join all the video the following year. His videography was fantastic. Eddie grabbed unique panoramic shots during the ceremony, videotaped the perfect candid moments, and gathered experiences of family and friends that the bride and groom weren't even aware of. We started working with them well before the wedding, largely to make sure we were on track with our schedule (catering, entertainment, invites, etc). That went just fine. We also had an added bit of fun (that turned out amazing). My partner and I have been together for a long time and friends didn't know what to get us since we already have a full house. So when we told our friends of our wedding plans (and planned outfits) they decided to get us a band for the wedding. Which is great but now Jennifer and Fern had the grooms + random friends to coordinate with. Our friends worked directly with Bon Events and they ALSO had nothing but good things to say. In fact, Bon helped them secure the band and work out the final details. I feel they went above and beyond and made our wedding an amazing event. I didn't have to think about a thing on our wedding day except to make sure we ate (Bon also had secured food for us at the wedding... since it's hard to eat when you need to say Hello to everyone) and made sure our guests had a lovely time. Honestly, no words can describe how amazing these 2 women are, they were supposed to just be our "Day of Coordinators" for my wife & I's wedding this past October but throughout the year and a half that we used their services we were in contact with them constantly. Furthermore, they were happy and excited to help us make sure that we were on track and that our wedding would be exactly what we wanted. They never made us feel like "just another client" or even once said "you didn't hire us for this" they were just always there, and always helpful. They were there for us anytime we needed encouragement or had fears about a decision we had made they were right there to back us up and encourage us to go for what we wanted. They also ran our rehearsal like drill instructors and made sure everyone knew their role, down to how fast they are walking the aisle and where to stand on stage. These women are really a lot of fun to talk to and work with but when it comes down to it they are professionals who take their clients needs very seriously. We hired them for the "Day of coordination" and when it came down to that they did an amazing job, our wedding probably had a few hiccups that day, maybe even a disaster or two, but my wife and I didn't see, hear or even suspect anything, more importantly neither did our guests. Jen and Fern had a staff of 3 people working under them for our event and between the 5 of them not only was our venue completely flipped from "Ceremony mode" to "reception hall" within 30 minutes but the entire night went perfectly. They even went as far as to grab food for my wife and I from the caterers so we wouldn't even have to get up from our table. Jen & Fern I hope you read this, Jen & I had our dream wedding, we put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into making sure it happened and I 100% feel like you guys did too. However, my girlfriend surprised me with this indoor picnic for my birthday. I wasn't there for the setup, but I heard it was super efficient. I walked in to a beautiful setup and they thought of everything. It was a beautiful setup, we really enjoyed taking Polaroids through the afternoon, and the hookah that was included was perfect and lasted the entire picnic. I got to see the man pack everything up at the end and they were done super quick. Overall it was such an amazing experience and we're looking forward to working with them for some summer picnics!

I learnt about the Winnetka Community House when we went to the North Shore Art League for the…read morefirst time to attend the opening reception of their new exhibit -- "Summer Open".  The art league is located on the second floor of the Winnetka Community House.  The Community House was completed in 1911, and it has been expanded several times since.  That's why it was interesting for us to enter a historic building that's over 100 years old, but discovered a modern extension where the art gallery is after climbing a flight of old-fashioned stairs. Apparently, the center hosts many performing arts programs that include dance, theater, music and more.  When we were viewing artwork of the exhibit, a friendly elderly actor of the center greeted us while taking a break on a comfy couch.  We could hear music rehearsal in the theatre when we passed by. They also have education programs, youth sports programs, a full-service fitness center, classes and lectures -- all kinds of activities that help enrich lives of residents of not just Winnetka, but of the broader North Shore. When I read their Yelp reviews, I learnt that the center is even a popular weddings and events venue!  It is truly a versatile community house! As a privately supported 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Community House is not funded through tax dollars.  It's good to know that donations are 100% tax deductible.

She was so responsive to our questions and kept everything running smoothly with our vendors on our wedding day. While this venue is a community center, our wedding felt completely private. Any locals in the community who happened across us while taking photos in the early afternoon were so kind and respectful, and our wedding ceremony and reception was completely private. The fact that this venue also has an indoor space to be used as a back-up plan in case of weather also gave us peace of mind.
