I remember going into my first session with Dr. Noolee Kim for assessment and being placed with Dr. Cooper Lee. There were tears of frustration, fatigue, disappointment and loss of faith in my body due to the excrutiating pain I had been experiencing daily with my back. I have a had quite the lower back history going as far as 20 years. I came into this place with plantar fasciitis and knee issues. I've been working with Cooper for the last two months and I can honestly tell you the whole team has made my experience so enjoyable. I am an amateur golfer (not that great, to be honest), but invested enough to always look for a way to elevate my game. Earlier this year in March, I played in a city tournament and didn't play well at all. Part of that was battling with swing mechanics, but the more concerning issue was a pain all throughout the right side of my body (all the way up from my right shoulder, down to my right hip). I had considered different options (e.g., massages, float tanks, chiropractor, etc.), but I stumbled upon the Instagram page for i.Athlete Physio and was intrigued by their content. It seemed sensible, and I figured I didn't have much to lose by reaching out and seeing if they could be a good fit. I spoke on the phone with Cooper for what was probably at least half an hour. I felt pretty good about the phone conversation, and I told Cooper that I wanted to be able to play golf pain-free for as long as possible. He understood, so I decided to schedule a performance evaluation. Right away, I was impressed by Cooper's professionalism and attention to detail. One of the most impressive things about the evaluation was that he (correctly) pointed out that the pain all across the right side of my upper body was more a symptom of some imbalance and deficiencies than it was the source of the problem. I was a bit skeptical at first, but things felt a little bit better even after just the evaluation. There was a lot lacking and I felt that I had the lack of mobility that someone decades older. I knew there was work to do, but I had seen enough after one session (in a good way). I decided to book ten sessions (and then an eventual ten more). Long story short (or maybe medium), my body is moving much better than when I started! I won my flight at the LA City Men's Net Championship (my first tournament victory), and I attribute a lot of that to moving better. I couldn't work out for 7 years cuz of back pain and dropped from 185 to 155. I always worked out and did CrossFit so losing that much muscle cuz I have high metabolism was really bad and I felt terrible. I'm very happy and fortunate to have found i.Athlete. For about almost two years I had been experiencing unexplained intermittent strange upper and lower body sensations and symptoms as well as neck pain which didn't show much of a clear cause despite full medical work ups, as well as trying acupuncture and PT at other places. My journey with i.Athlete Physio and Noolee Kim has been amazing. I was first introduced to Noolee in the fall of 2019 when I was dealing with right hip pain. Four years earlier I had my left hip replaced and knew I was heading in the same direction with the right. I have had back pain for many years and I finally decided that I really needed to do something about it. I knew I had to set up an appointment with Noolee. It is super convenient with the location being inside my gym. My first hour session with him, he assessed and evaluated me and took the time to listen to my history and current issues. He provided home exercises to help with my back pain. The same night he emailed me the exercises and the amount of sets I had to do along with pictures, which was totally helpful! I am very forgetful, so it was nice to have it in hand. Within a week of doing the exercises, I felt a big difference and my back pain is diminishing. He also likes to be updated and frequently emails his clients to see how they are doing. My second session with him, HE KICKED MY BUTT (in a good way). He gave me more different and challenging exercises to do. At the end of the session, my body felt great. Again, he sent me the new exercises the same night. I have repetitive injuries from my time playing golf competitively over 2 decades, and coupled with COVID and a sedentary lifestyle, I was in a lot of pain. Left shoulder, low back, hip, sciatica - I could not lift weights, run, work, even sleep was affected. I am a runner and tennis player in my fifties who started working with i.Athlete Physio during my second bout of severe heel pain from plantar fasciitis. I had had plantar fasciitis ten years prior in the other foot and it lasted 18 months, even with physical therapy, steroid shots, visits with the sports medicine specialist and orthopedist. This time, I tried all of the therapies that I had done before, including stretching, icing, massage gun, night splints, custom orthotics, stability shoes, taping, and nothing was helping. After six months with no improvement, I started physical therapy with Dr. Cooper Lee at i.Athlete Physio. He really focused on diagnosing my exact experience of pain and what was changing it over time. He went over how the foot is the final pathway of movements that start from the torso and hip and how pain signals in the bottom of the foot, which is served by the sciatic nerve, could be indicating irritation anywhere along the pathway of the nerve. Over ten sessions, we worked on strengthening my core, especially focusing on all the hip stabilizers. He sent me videos of around twenty different exercises that we worked on. He communicated with me between sessions, reviewing my pain logs, and giving feedback on my exercises. Over time, my pain became less and less sharp and I was able to start running after not having run in six months! With my pain logs demonstrating steady improvement, I was able to slowly increase my activity. After ten sessions, I was able to run 3 miles without pain. I'm not quite at the level I was at before the injury, but with all the tools I have to monitor my pain and strengthen weaknesses and imbalances in my body, I am confident that I will be able to run half-marathons and play tennis again soon! read more

Before seeing Noolee, I was experiencing pain from an acl surgery I underwent almost 6 months prior. I was extremely concerned considering my orthopedic doctor had given me a timeline of 6 months to return to full contact sports, with no pain. Moreover, he treats the whole patient, with seamless promotion of physical, mental, and emotional well-being. I've been in pain since I got out of the Marine Corps in 2009. I seek help through the VA healthcare system, which brought me down the road of many chiropractors, physical therapist, and pain management counselors. In the end, there was only minimal relief. Throughout these sessions I was still working out regularly, but in pain. Injuries started to occur on one part of my body and move onto another every few months. This pain restricted me from getting stronger. I was unable to grow as fast as I could in strength and muscle endurance. Without a doubt, the best and most effective physical therapy I've had. I've been to multiple physical therapists over the course of a decade, and although all have helped to a degree, none were able to dramatically fix my pains. In fact, I don't believe any of my prior PT's actually determined the root of my problem, and either addressed merely symptoms or surface-level issues. I am 100% sure Dr. Noolee is the first PT I have worked with to actually discover and address the root of my problems, as the progress I've seen with him over a few months is more than all of my previous physical therapy over years combined. Although he still won't admit it because he's unwaveringly (too) humble, Dr. Noolee is incredibly smart. Other than being the first person to properly diagnose my actual problem in a 10 years, he shows consistently that he knows his field with his ability to explain why the body behaves the way it does and how to induce the changes you want. He's fantastic to work with and I've never seen him grow impatient or show even the slightest irritation, despite the list of 50 questions I bring to ask him every time. So far just average, sorry to say have not seen the results that others have seen. First of all let me say that everyone here is always nice and respectful. However my goal when signing up for a package was to take physical therapy in an effort to figure out what wqs causing the pain I have been experiencing. So for those people who are considering this business, basically it is very similar to a training session. They will have you go through some exercises that they believe will target your pain area. Then they will assign you to do it on your own as well, which I have been doing twice a week for a few months. From there every sessions is pretty much the same. For me when I signed up they recommend that I get as many sessions as possible. But decided against that in order to see how these sessions would go, if I saw some results then I told them I would buy more. Well been a few months and really I feel even worse. Recently they told me that actually it was a different area that is now the problem, so now I need different exercises. FYI they don't do x-rays here, so they rely more on putting pressure on different areas of the body in order to pinpoint the area. Also they will video record you doing the exercises and then send you the videos via email. By the way I don't recall them asking if it was okay to take the video, but really no biggie for me. But for others that might matter. You would think the amount of money you are putting up, perhaps they could send you some detailed information on the exercise in the email. Bottom line, be sure what you are signing up for, becuase these guys are not cheap, and they will recommend a good amount of sessions. Which to be honest is probably normal perhaps because they want to assess you in the beginning. But for me I got x-rays done recently with my doctor and turns out the areas they were targeting were not what came up in the xray. So just another interesting fact I thought I would share. More likely I will not be continuing with these guys. Highly recommended you do not pay for all the sessions that they recommend you to do. Try it out for 4 sessions and see how your body reacts. Lastly these guys are out of network for health insurance carriers, so just FYI. I am going with three stars because like I said super nice guys, and to be honest everyone's case is different. First off, you could tell right away that he's not about just making a dollar. This man has integrity and is looking out for you. He genuinely cares that you reap huge benefits from his service. Whether it's just achieving the next step or recovery from some type of injury, he has a deep concern for your progress. The problem with established mills and big business is a lack of accountability. It's honestly hard to find the words to do i.Athlete Physio justice - these guys are incredible, and so much more than your average physical therapists. I started working with Doc Noolee remotely in 2021, back when I lived in San Francisco. I had developed chronic lower back and hip pain that were starting to affect my ability to work (I am a surgeon). I had seen other physical therapists and rehab MDs who had suggested steroid injections or even surgery as the only remaining solution. Noolee came highly recommended by a friend, and after an initial virtual consultation, he quickly diagnosed the cause of my hip and back pain. He clearly explained how we would rehabilitate my body through a series of intense Zoom workout sessions. I'll admit that I was initially somewhat skeptical of the virtual format, but Noolee quickly erased my doubts. Over the course of 7 visits, not only did my pain improve, but I also found myself moving more athletically and achieving personal bests in my hobbies of weightlifting and golf. The fact that Noolee was able to help me so effectively without ever meeting me in person is a true testament to his knowledge and abilities as a provider. When I moved back to LA this past year, I was thrilled to be able to work with Noolee and the rest of his team in person. I am so grateful that I stumbled upon i.Athlete and met Noolee. For months, I was fighting pain in my right shoulder and right lower back and hip area. I just thought I was overworking those areas since I've been training in Muay Thai, but something just didn't feel right. I came to i.Athlete Physio with chronic pain in my achilles tendon, which I had torn and had surgery on 3.5 years prior. I was at a point where I was not sure if this pain would ever go away and if I would be able to do things I enjoy like sports, running, etc again. I had been to multiple doctors, physical therapists and chiropractors who all helped a little bit but were not able to address the root of my pain. When I started seeing Noolee, he suggested to me that the pain was actually not primarily about the achilles itself but rather stemming from other stability and strength issues that I had in my glutes, core, shoulders that were causing me to feel pain in the achilles area. In my initial eval, he had me conduct some relatively simple exercises which, much to my shock, I could barely perform. After the eval, I saw that I had some obvious deficiencies and figured, "I'm not 100% sure about how this relates to the achilles but what do I have to lose? Let's give this a try and see how it goes." And so we were off. Noolee worked with me each session for 1 full hour - no passing off to assistants or aides - and I was doing exercises I have never done in my post achilles physical therapy rehab before. These would become my homework for each week and the exercises were tough! The progress was up and down in my mind as my pain persisted and new pains popped up. However, Noolee was very kind and encouraging the whole way, reassuring me of my progress and seeing the things that I could not see. Over the course of several months, I started to see that I could do more and more. My activity levels were increasing and the pain started decreasing. Noolee would challenge me to keep pushing to reach my activity goals. I've been working with Noolee for 10 months now and I'm at a place where I'm playing basketball, going to workout classes, and running again with minimal or no pain. I'm still working through various pains but am so much better than where I was before I started at i.Athlete. I'm so grateful for Noolee, his expertise, coaching, and care for me on a holistic level on my journey back to doing the things I love. Following my car accident, I was under the care of chiropractic treatments, massage therapists and pain management care for about 4 months but none provided progressing relief to my ongoing pains. I was suffering chronic back pain for several months and had seen a handful of chiropractors, acupuncturists and massage therapists with no luck. Most of the treatments I received were just temporary pain relief, until I went to see Dr. Noolee Kim, who completely relieved me of my back pain after a few physical therapy sessions. I was so desperate that we had our first session via FaceTime, when he identified where my pain was coming from and instructed me to do some basic exercises daily that would help with my pain. I followed his instructions and started doing the daily exercises three times a day, as I was told, and I was already feeling better by the third day. Noolee checked up on me a few times and I showed him how I was doing the exercises via FaceTime, until we had our in-person session the following week. By the time our session rolled around, I was feeling much better and making progress. Noolee did a very thorough evaluation during our physical therapy session and gave me a few more exercises to do, as well performed a few different methods of treatment that drastically relieved my pain, especially in my lower back. I am now free of my chronic back pain and know that I can easily go to Noolee if it ever comes back. Dr Kim is the best around!!! As a Physical Therapist, I am a harsh critic and have had a lot of experience as a patient. There is a reason why I got a babysitter for my kids and drove 45 minutes to see Dr Kim. He is that good! Dr Kim was able to address my condition and get me back to weight lifting and cycling in two visits!! His examination was amazingly thorough, and the entire session was spent with him. I wasn't handed over to an aid for any treatment. I appreciate this as a Physical Therapist, several past experiences have been a waste of time at other clinics when I wasted time with an aide supervising me doing remedial exercises that I could do at home. Not the case with Dr Kim, his home exercise program was concise and not a minute of my time was wasted. I'm writing this review from the perspective of a parent that exhausted many efforts to help alleviate sports pain for my daughter. She's 16 years old and has played basketball for 11 of those years. She had constant knee discomfort which turned into constant pain. We saw a total of 7 doctors, 2 specialists, and about 9-10 different braces and sleeves. This probably sounds familiar for most of you and then my daughter met Dr. NooLee. He took an approach to her pain that was totally different in a positive way. His main concern was limiting her pain and as a parent that's always top priority for your child. Dr.NooLee not only helped her from a physical aspect but raised her self esteem from a mental aspect and gave her hope as previous efforts seemed hopeless. If you are a crossfitter or other fitness enthusiast and have been told to quit what you love by other dr or physio, PLEASE, don't quit but just go to see Noolee. I got the whole hip injury package (hip dysplasia, hip labral tear, hip impingement) and hip surgery and quitting crossfit were recommended by an orthopedic Dr and a "regular" Physio. I didn't believe these were the only options and that's why I started researching and found i.Athlete. When I saw Noolee first time, he didn't care about all bs from other drs but he assessed my condition and explained me how I can get rid of the pain and get stronger at the same time. It's good be true, right?! Now after I have completed his 12-sesh program I am almost pain free and can lift weight again without any hip pain. Hmmm....the ortho dr told me the hip pain will not go away without surgery because the pain is from the labral tear. His knowledge and expertise is incredible (I challenged him with a bunch of questions every time and he always had the answers for me) and I learned a lot of helpful stuff while I was getting better and stronger. His workout is soooo hard and you have to make serious efforts if you have a serious injury and do want to get back to what you like. Only the negative side is that he does not take an insurance. But to me if I went surgery it could have costed more for pre-surgery pt, surgery, and post-surgery pt and I would have lost all my strength. At the end every penny I paid him was worth it. If you are going to a regular PT and feel you are wasting money and time, stop doing that. My primary care doctor referred me to Dr. Noolee Kim after several months of suffering somewhat severe pain in both knees (whenever I sat or stood up from a seated position) as well as intermittent pain in both plantar fascia. I had had no injuries to speak of, and though I am about 40 lb overweight, I am a relatively active 43 year old female. Hobbling around and sometimes limping from pain for months on end was both frustrating and mysterious. Noolee really rolled up his sleeves and wanted to know absolutely all of the details. I immediately felt comfortable sharing aspects of my history that may have contributed to my condition. Noolee was always extremely receptive and professional. Eventually he concluded that the injury was likely in my back; it just presented as pain in the extremities. It was helpful to begin to understand the source of my pain, but the diagnosis was only the beginning: Noolee wanted me to do both core strengthening and high intensity interval workouts. Each in-person session with Noolee included an interview, sometimes a deep tissue massage, and usually a high intensity workout. My PT plan was neatly available online; I knew exactly what to do each week on my own. Though I am not 100% out of the woods, the pain I experience a year later is dramatically reduced. Noolee is an educator and that rare breed of physician who cares deeply about his patients and their journey to wellness; his interest lies solely in getting you pain-free as quickly as possible. I can't say enough about how incredible this place is. I'll start by saying it's the Ritz Carlton of physiotherapy. Never before have I felt so loved and cared for by strangers (who obviously quickly became more than strangers). I saw Dr. Noolee mostly, and Dr. Harris a few times, for tension in my hamstrings, back, and neck- which all turned out to be a nervous system issue (mind blowing!). By implementing the exercises, the tension drastically reduced. It's like every exercise they got me to do reduced the tension in my body almost instantly. Both Dr. Noolee and Dr. Harris are extremely knowledgeable and experts at what they do. I wouldn't recommend you go anywhere else but here if you want to feel loved, cared for, and feel better almost instantly. read more
